Areas We Service
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across 5 West Virginia cities: Charleston, Huntington, Morgantown, Wheeling, and Parkersburg, along with the towns and hollows around them. Our units serve construction sites, gas and pipeline crews, weddings, fairs, and other events, plus emergency restrooms when floods hit. Let us know your plans, and we'll match you with the units and cleaning schedule that fit.
The price you pay comes from a handful of choices. How many units you order, what kind, and how long you keep them matter most. After that, the number of cleaning visits and how far and how steep the drive is to your site round out the quote.
Below, you'll see price ranges, a quick way to figure your unit count, how permits work on West Virginia roads, and the state rules on food stands and waste hauling.

A rental from us bundles delivery, regular cleaning, and pickup into one price. These are the things that push it up or down. - Length of the rental: For parties and events, we usually quote a weekend, so one day and three days often cost about the same. For job sites, billing runs in 28-day cycles. - Number of units: Every unit adds to the total. Still, ordering too few is a false savings, since tanks fill early and lines get long. - Cleaning visits: Our driver pumps the tank, cleans the inside, and refills paper and sanitizer on each stop. A crowded event or a large crew may need more stops, and each one adds cost. - Terrain and access: This is a big one in West Virginia. A unit at the top of a steep, narrow road or across a creek crossing takes more time to deliver and service than one next to a paved lot. A level, firm spot our truck can back up to keeps costs down. - Type of unit and extras: Flushing units, sink units, solar units, restroom trailers, and handwashing stations cost more than a standard unit.
Another West Virginia point: the state is mostly small towns and rural roads, so a site far from the nearest city may carry a higher delivery charge. Telling us the exact address, and how the last stretch of road looks, helps us price it right the first time.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager will walk through each of these with you and build a quote that fits your plans.
A unit on private property, such as your yard, a farm, or a fenced work site, generally doesn't need a permit. Placing one on a road shoulder, sidewalk, park, or other public land does call for permission from whoever runs that property.
West Virginia is different from most states in one big way. The state Division of Highways looks after 34,940 miles of state-owned roads, out of about 38,800 miles of public roads in the state. That covers almost every road outside city limits. That means the state, not the county, is usually the office to call for a rural road.
Because so many roads are state-owned, it's easy to guess wrong about who controls a spot. Your account manager can help you find the right office before delivery day.
Your count rests on two numbers: how many people, and for how many hours. Here are the rules of thumb we use: - Events: Allow 1 unit per 50 guests for an event of about four hours. Add 15 to 20 percent if you're serving alcohol. - Construction sites: Federal worker-safety rules set a minimum of 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers. Once the crew passes 20, provide 1 toilet and 1 urinal per 40 workers. - Accessible units: At a public event, have at least 1 accessible unit, which is roughly 1 of every 20 units. - Emergencies: For flood cleanup and relief crews, plan on 1 unit for every 10 workers.
Long days, summer heat, and big crowds use up tank space quickly. You can check your numbers with our porta potty calculator, and your account manager will confirm them.
Three areas cover most of what West Virginia expects from a portable toilet rental: access for people with disabilities, food safety at events, and safe waste disposal. - Accessible units: West Virginia follows the federal ADA standards. Where portable toilets are grouped for public use, 5 percent of the units in each group must be accessible, and even a small group needs one. Units only a construction crew uses are exempt from this rule. - Food stands at events: The state's food establishment rule covers temporary food stands, and your county health department permits and inspects them. In Greenbrier County, for example, inspectors check each stand when it sets up and again during multi-day events. Call your county health department early so vendors can apply in time, and ask what it expects for handwashing near the food area. - Where the waste goes: West Virginia requires a sewage tank cleaning permit for companies that pump out sewage tanks, issued through the state's Office of Environmental Health Services. Those companies also keep a quarterly log of their pumping. The Department of Environmental Protection sets where licensed haulers can unload: a public wastewater treatment plant or an approved land application site. Waste never goes into a stream, ditch, or storm drain.
If you're planning a public event, food service, or a long job site rental, your Prime Dumpster account manager can confirm what applies and set up your units to match.

A standard porta potty averages $199–$349 per unit, and an ADA-compliant unit averages $200–$300. Deluxe flushing and sink units cost $300–$400, and restroom trailers start at $1,500. Unit count, rental length, service visits, and how hard your site is to reach set the final price. Your account manager confirms it in a free quote.
Plan 1 unit for every 50 guests at an event running about four hours. With alcohol, add 15 to 20 percent. All-day events and hot weather may need extra units or another cleaning visit. If the public is invited, include at least one accessible unit in the group.
Usually not on private land. A unit on a state road needs a right-of-way permit from the Division of Highways, which runs most roads outside city limits. City streets, sidewalks, and parks need city approval, and events often need a city permit. Your account manager can help you find the right office.
The standard plan is one service visit per week. Each visit includes pumping the tank, cleaning the inside, and restocking paper and sanitizer. Heavy use from big crowds, large crews, or summer heat can call for more. Your account manager will set a schedule that matches how your units will be used.
If your units are open to the public, yes. Federal rules ask for about 5 percent of each group to be accessible, with at least one per group. Units used only by construction workers are exempt, though adding one is a good idea on many job sites. Your account manager can help you decide.
For a job site, a few days ahead is usually fine, and we can often deliver within 24 to 48 hours. For fall festivals, summer weddings, and football weekends, book several weeks out. Remote sites and events that need city permits or food vendor approvals need even more lead time.
