Prime Dumpster offers dumpster rental in Idaho across 17 Idaho cities, from Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint in the north to Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Idaho Falls in the south. Homeowners rent from us for basement cleanouts, shop and barn projects, reroofs and remodels. Construction crews, businesses and federal projects count on us for larger jobs.
A few local details decide your total. Container size, the debris going in, whether you need street space and the landfill or transfer station that takes the load all affect the price.
This page covers Idaho price ranges, permit rules, disposal limits and the county facilities that handle debris around the state.

The service behind each rental is straightforward. We bring out the container, you keep it for the rental period, and we haul the full load to the landfill. The rest of your quote comes from the details of the job.
Size is the first detail, followed by the kind of debris, the number of rental days and the project address. Concrete, dirt and roofing pile on weight faster than people expect, and keeping the container longer costs more.
The county matters because Idaho counties and regional districts set their own tipping fees, and those fees are part of what you pay. The factor that stands out here is residency. Many Idaho facilities charge far more for waste hauled in from another county.
Two examples of how county disposal differs in practice:
So the county line can double the disposal cost for an identical load. In Bannock County, keeping construction debris apart from household trash also earns the lower rate for county residents.
Look up current fees on the county or district's official page first. Your account manager can pinpoint the facility that will take your debris and explain the factors behind your final quote.
Setting a container on your own property, such as your driveway or a private lot, usually doesn't require a permit. A container in a public street, alley or on a sidewalk does need approval. That approval comes from the agency responsible for the road and should be in hand before delivery.
Idaho cities write the rules that most customers run into, and the office depends on the road:
Idaho Falls city code makes it unlawful to block a public sidewalk with a trash or recycling container unless the code allows it. Your account manager can track down the right office for your street and share the contact before delivery.
Typical cleanout, remodeling and construction debris is accepted in most Idaho dumpsters. The limits come from each facility's permit, and those permits follow rules from the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality.
State solid waste rules bar landfills from taking radioactive waste outside specially regulated facilities. Regulated medical waste from health care businesses can't be landfilled until it has been decontaminated. Kootenai County also states that Idaho law doesn't allow tires or tire by-products in a landfill, so tires are collected and recycled instead.
Standard landfills everywhere, including Idaho's, refuse hazardous waste, free liquids and friable asbestos. Friable asbestos must go to a facility with a special permit.
Regional districts add their own limits. Southern Idaho Solid Waste won't accept regulated hazardous waste, PCBs, bulk liquids, radioactive waste, explosives or electric vehicle batteries under any circumstances. Its sites also turn away household hazardous waste and electronics from outside the county.
Have electronics, tires, appliances or something else you're unsure about? Ask your account manager where it should go before it goes in the container.
Idaho disposal is run by counties and regional solid waste districts. The facility that serves your job depends on the county and sometimes on where the debris was generated.

The Latah County Solid Waste Processing Facility at 3299 Highway 8 in Moscow charges a minimum fee on every disposal load. It's open Monday through Saturday, with longer hours from April through October, at 208-882-5724.
In south-central Idaho, Southern Idaho Solid Waste runs a network of transfer stations and landfills for seven counties, including the Twin Falls Transfer Station and Milner Butte Landfill.
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality oversees solid waste facilities statewide. Once you book, your account manager checks the facility for your address and tells you about any material rules it applies.

Idaho rentals usually run $399–$499 for a 10-yard dumpster and $699–$899 for a 40-yard, based on a standard five-day rental period. The price depends on container size, the debris you load and the county landfill or transfer station that takes it. Your account manager confirms tonnage and any overage rates ahead of booking.
Not from the state. A container on your driveway or private property usually needs no permit. A container on a public street does, through ITD on a state highway or through the city for local streets, such as Twin Falls' right-of-way permit. Your account manager can connect you with the right office.
Hazardous waste, free liquids, friable asbestos, radioactive waste and untreated medical waste are kept out of Idaho landfills. Kootenai County says Idaho law keeps tires out of landfills too. Some districts refuse more, including PCBs, explosives and electric vehicle batteries. Pull these items out before the container is picked up.
Each county or district sets its own rates, and many charge more for out-of-county waste. Bannock County charges residents less for construction waste than outsiders pay. The Twin Falls Transfer Station doubles its rate for loads from outside the county under its new pricing.
No. Kootenai County states that Idaho law doesn't allow tires or tire by-products in a landfill, and Idaho facilities usually charge for tires per tire. Keep tires out of your load and ask your account manager where they can be taken.
Idaho's landfill and transfer station fees come from the counties and regional districts that operate them, so disposal costs depend on which facility takes your load. Your account manager can tell you which facility serves your address and how its charges affect your quote.
