County health itself: Nassau County's website did not respond to our requests, so the content of the county approval is not described in this guide, only the fact that the town requires it.
Town code: the town code is held by an outside codification service that asks automated readers not to collect it, so no code section is quoted.
Set units on the highest, firmest ground available. On canal side lots and low streets, avoid spots where water collects after a storm tide, and use plywood under each unit on soft ground. Keep units back from bulkhead edges and storm drains that run to the bay.
At a block party, keep units out of the emergency lane the town requires, at the curb line or on a driveway apron. Keep every unit at least 15 feet from food service, and on a job site within about 200 feet of the work.
Weekly service is the Oceanside baseline, with pumping, sanitizing and restocking. A carnival weekend often needs a service visit each day, and a coastal storm warning is a good reason to request an extra visit and to secure the units.
