Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Hattiesburg
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and the Forrest and Lamar County communities around it. Units support construction and student housing work near the university, forestry and industrial sites, road and utility crews, roofing and storm repair jobs, and outdoor events of every kind, from a downtown festival to a game day tailgate to a church fundraiser in a parking lot.
Your price depends on the unit you choose, how many go out, how long they stay, and how often a truck returns. Below you will find our ranges, the crew numbers that apply on a Mississippi job site, the approval paperwork this state puts on the customer, and how quickly delivery can be scheduled.
Those ranges rest on a three-day rental, which is the usual shape of a Hattiesburg weekend order. A single Saturday and a Friday through Sunday window generally come out the same.
Longer work is priced in four-week blocks with weekly service included, and the weekly figure eases after the first block.
There is one Mississippi factor to plan for rather than price around. The state expects the customer to file a written maintenance contract with the county health department before portable toilets are approved at a temporary site, and that document comes from your supplier. Settling the order early costs nothing. Settling it the week of the event can hold up your approval.
Heat and access finish the picture. A unit behind a locked gate or down a dirt track costs the driver time. South Mississippi summers push plenty of customers to twice-weekly service, and food events should be on that schedule from the start.

Try our porta potty calculator first, then talk it through with your account manager, who will weigh the crew size, the attendance, and how often the truck should come back.
Start from the people who will actually use it, and the number of days. Our whole range is set out on the porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty covers most sites here: a single private stall with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty gives a wheelchair user a flat entry, extra width, grab bars and room to turn. Anything open to the public should have one of these among the units.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty brings a flushing bowl and much stronger odor control, which earns its keep through a Pine Belt summer.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink carries a sink, soap, and a mirror inside the stall, so guests wash up without crossing the site.
The Solar Porta Potty powers its light and fan from a roof panel, which answers a rural site with no service and an evening event.
The Handwashing Station is a separate sink carrying clean water, soap and towels. Set one next to anywhere food is handled, and one on a site where people eat on the job.
The Restroom Trailer tows in with several private stalls, running water, and air conditioning. Weddings, corporate days, and long-running sites are where it pays for itself.
Not settled yet? Give your account manager the headcount and the dates and they will build the mix.
The City itself does not permit the unit, but Mississippi does something no other state in our coverage does, and it lands on you rather than on us.
Private property and job sites: the City of Hattiesburg issues no permit for a portable toilet standing on your own lot, a driveway, or a fenced job site. Keep it inside the property line and off the public sidewalk.
The Mississippi approval most people have never heard of: state rules treat portable toilets as a non-waterborne sewage system and say they may only be used where the local health department approves the use. The rule names construction sites and public gatherings as typical locations, so this is ordinary work rather than an edge case. Then comes the part that affects your order directly. Portable toilets may be approved by county health departments for temporary or transient locations, and a contract for maintenance has to be provided in writing to the county health department before approval. Hattiesburg is in Forrest County, so that is where the approval and the filed contract go. The maintenance contract comes from your supplier, which means your order needs to be settled before you seek the approval, not after.
Streets and sidewalks: the City's street rules put the duty on the abutting property owner or tenant, who has to keep the sidewalk in a reasonably safe condition and free from all obstructions that impede the free and safe use of the sidewalk on foot. Separately, leaving equipment on a street, a sidewalk, or any other public way longer than business actually needs is an offence. So a unit standing on a Hattiesburg sidewalk creates a problem for the adjoining owner as well as for whoever put it there, which is why units go on private ground wherever possible.
Events: the City requires a permit to hold a parade, a block party, or a special event on city property or where the traffic division or barricades are needed. Applications go to the Hattiesburg Police Department at least 30 days before the event, with proof of liability insurance, and a mapped route for a parade or road race. The processing fee is $25.00 and it is non-refundable whether or not the permit is granted. The Chief of Police or a designee signs it off.
Food vendors: every food vendor at a Hattiesburg event is inspected by the Fire Department, and food service means a real handwashing station rather than sanitizer.
What the City does not set: a restroom number. Neither the permit page nor the published application mentions restrooms, portable toilets, or sanitation capacity anywhere, so there is no city ratio to quote. Your account manager will build you a count you can stand behind.
Placement decides how well a unit copes with the heat and how quickly the service visit goes.
Start with firm, level ground. A unit on soft sandy fill after a Gulf storm can settle, and plywood or a mat under the feet solves it.
The driver needs room to work. Clear width and overhead space are what it takes to set and lift a unit, so keep the approach open and send us any gate code ahead of time.
Hold units 15 feet or more from anywhere food is served, and keep them away from creeks, ditches and storm inlets. Crews will use units that are within roughly 200 feet of where they are working, and at an event two or three smaller groups beat one long row.
Servicing is where Mississippi is specific. The state defines a portable toilet as a unit that has to be collected, removed, transported, and disposed of by a licensed Certified Pumper, and nobody may run that business without a state license. A pumper has to document an approved disposal site with the state environmental agency every year, carry general business liability insurance, pass a vehicle inspection for every truck, and keep a record of each job by address, the amount pumped, and the disposal receipt from a permitted treatment facility. County health departments carry out the truck inspections. In practical terms, that is why the question of who is emptying your units is worth asking. Weekly service is our baseline and your account manager will confirm the schedule and the disposal arrangement before the first delivery.

Most Hattiesburg orders can be on site within 24 to 48 hours. With three to five days of notice we can line up the specific units you asked for. For a game weekend, a festival, or a wedding, allow several weeks, because the whole Pine Belt wants the same dates.
These five habits keep a delivery smooth:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery across Hattiesburg and the surrounding Forrest, Lamar, Jones and Perry County communities, including Petal, Oak Grove, Purvis, Columbia, Laurel, Ellisville and Richton. Hattiesburg sits a long way from the rest of our Mississippi coverage, and we would rather be straight about it than pretend otherwise: the closest porta potty page we publish is Gulfport at 61 road miles, with Biloxi at 72 and Jackson at 96, so the nearby list below is longer-range than most.
A standard unit is $199–$349 and an accessible one $200–$300. Flushing and sink models fall in the $300–$400 range, a solar unit in the $500–$600 range, and trailers begin at $1,500. What really moves your total is how many units, how many days and how many service visits. The quote is free.
Our planning figure is one unit per 50 attendees over a four-hour window, with 15 to 20 percent more once drinks are served. Put a sink wherever food is handled and an accessible unit in each group. The City sets no figure, so your account manager will help you choose.
With no state table, Mississippi sites follow the federal standard. Up to 20 workers, one facility is enough; from 21 workers it is a toilet seat and a urinal per 40, and from 201 workers one of each per 50. Chemical toilets are named as acceptable where there is no sewer.
Service is weekly as a matter of course, and more often where you need it. The tank is emptied, the inside is washed and the paper and sanitizer are replaced on each call. Mississippi also requires a licensed pumper to take the waste to a permitted facility and log the job, so this is regulated work.
The City issues no permit for a unit on private ground. Mississippi is different: units at a temporary site such as a construction job or a public gathering need county health department approval, and a written maintenance contract has to be filed with that office before approval. Your account manager will supply it.
A standard unit gives you a single narrow stall with a toilet, a urinal and sanitizer. The accessible one is broader, has a flat entry rather than a step, and adds grab bars and turning space for a wheelchair. Public events should carry one in each group.
Three days is the basis of every range, so a weekend is the normal case. A standard unit sits at $199–$349, a deluxe flushing unit at $300–$400 and a handwashing station at $150–$250. Your account manager settles the delivery and collection times with you.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will size the order, set the service visits, and give you the written maintenance contract your county approval needs.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
