Home Areas We Service Maine Porta Potty Rental Sanford, Maine 04073

At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals throughout Sanford, Maine, Springvale, and the York County towns around them. Construction crews on Main Street rebuilds and new housing, airport and mill-district projects, summer events on the Mousam River trails, farm fields, and fall festival weekends are what keep portable toilets busy in this corner of the state.
Your cost tracks the type of unit, how many you take, how long you keep them, and how often a service truck comes. Below you'll find the price ranges, how to size your order, what Maine law says about leaving a unit on your property, City right-of-way rules, and how quickly we deliver.
Read those ranges as a standard three-day rental. A Saturday wedding and a long weekend usually price out the same, so there's no saving in squeezing your dates.
Length of rental moves the number most. Builders in Sanford usually keep units on a four-week cycle, which costs far less per day than booking and rebooking short stretches.
Service visits are the second factor. Each visit pumps the tank, washes the unit, and restocks paper and sanitizer. A busy July event weekend or a crew of 30 will want more than one visit.
Where the unit sits matters as well. A paved lot near Main Street is a fast stop. A woodlot off a dirt road out toward Springvale takes longer, and mud season can make that worse. Winter is its own problem here, since a drive that's plowed and sanded keeps your service on schedule.

Request a Quote NowCount your people and your hours first. These are the ratios we work from:
Very large outdoor events have a state yardstick of their own. Maine treats an outdoor event built to hold 2,000 or more people for 12 hours or longer as a mass gathering, which needs a state permit and a site map showing every toilet. The state's own figure there is 1 toilet per 150 people. For ordinary parties and festivals the tighter 1-per-50 guide serves you better. Our porta potty calculator gets you a quick number, and your account manager will double-check it.

Pick the unit around who uses it and how long they'll be there. Everything lines up side by side on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is the everyday choice for job sites, trail work, and backyard gatherings. Inside are a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and hand sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty has ground-level entry, a wide door, grab bars, and turning space for a wheelchair. Build one into any public event.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty flushes and feels much closer to an indoor restroom, which guests at a barn wedding notice right away.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink adds a sink, soap, and a mirror inside. Families and food events like it.
The Solar Porta Potty lights and vents itself from a small panel, which helps on woodlots and evening events with no power run.
The Handwashing Station carries clean water, soap, and towels. Set one beside any food tent.
The Restroom Trailer gives you several stalls, running water, and heat or air conditioning, which matters in both a Maine May and a Maine October.
Not sure what fits? Walk your account manager through the crowd or crew and they'll sort the mix.
Maine made this easier in August 2024. State law now says you may place and use a temporary portable toilet on your property as long as it's maintained and serviced properly, and the state no longer enforces the old rule that made you get a plumbing inspector's written approval past seven days. The state health notice spells it out.
One carve-out: restaurants, lodging, and other businesses licensed by the state health inspection program are left out of that change. Those operators still need written approval from the local plumbing inspector.
Right of way: Work in or next to a public right of way in Sanford that affects how traffic or people get by calls for a highway excavation and traffic control permit. That's the City's handle on anything set in a street or shoulder.
Who to call: The Code Enforcement office at 919 Main Street takes permit questions at 207-324-9145, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. For a street or a shoulder, Public Works answers at 207-324-9135 between 6:30 am and 4:30 pm.
Big events: An outdoor event sized for 2,000 or more people over 12 hours or longer needs a state mass gathering permit, and the application has to show where every toilet will stand.
Food vendors: A vendor serving at a single community event holds a state temporary eating place license, good for up to 14 straight days, and applies at least 30 days out. That license requires a handwashing setup with warm water, soap, paper towels, and a trash can, which is exactly what a handwashing station gives them.
Your account manager can walk you to the right desk before your units are loaded.

A few minutes spent on placement saves hours later.
Put units on firm, level ground. York County soil goes soft in April and after a heavy rain, so a sheet of plywood or a gravel pad is cheap insurance. Leave the service truck a clear lane with room to swing, and watch for low branches on a wooded lot.
Keep units 15 feet or more from food service and well back from wells, brooks, and the Mousam River. On a job site, set them inside about 200 feet of the work so nobody wastes the walk.
Winter deserves its own plan. Snowbanks block service trucks faster than anything else here, so keep the approach plowed and tell your account manager if your site gets drifted in.
Most rentals get one service visit a week. In Maine this waste counts as septage, and the state requires a licensed non-hazardous waste transporter to move it, with no small-truck exemption and a manifest travelling with every load. The Sanford Sewerage District runs the treatment facility on Gavel Road and takes calls Monday through Thursday. Your account manager can confirm your service schedule and the licensed facility your waste goes to.

Most Sanford orders go out inside 24 to 48 hours. Three to five days of notice lets us reserve the exact units you want. For a June wedding, a fair weekend, or a fall festival, book several weeks out, because southern Maine's event season is short and everybody wants the same Saturdays.
Five habits that keep delivery simple:
Prime Dumpster delivers porta potties across Sanford and Springvale and out to the surrounding York County towns, including Alfred, Shapleigh, Acton, Lebanon, North Berwick, Wells, Lyman, and Waterboro. Whether your site is a downtown rebuild, a camp road off Route 109, or a field near the airport, we fit delivery, service, and pickup around your schedule.

A standard unit in Sanford averages $199–$349, and an ADA-compliant unit averages $200–$300. Deluxe units run $300–$400, and restroom trailers start at $1,500. Unit count, rental length, and how often we service the units all move the number. Your account manager confirms it in your free quote.
Plan 1 unit per 50 guests for an event of about four hours. Add 15 to 20 percent when alcohol is served, and more for all-day events or hot weather. Add at least one accessible unit if the public can attend, and put a handwashing station next to any food tent.
Maine's safety plan covers public employees, so private job sites in Sanford follow the federal table. That's 1 facility for 20 workers or fewer, then 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal for every 40, and 1 per 50 above 200. Your account manager can size the order to your crew.
Once a week is the normal schedule. The driver pumps the tank, scrubs and sanitizes the inside, and restocks paper and sanitizer. Heavy crews, event weekends, and hot July stretches often need two visits. Your account manager will match the schedule to how hard your units work.
Usually not. Maine law lets you place and use a temporary portable toilet on your property as long as it's serviced properly, and the old seven-day approval rule is no longer enforced. Licensed restaurants and lodging businesses are the exception. A unit in a City street or shoulder needs a permit.
A standard unit is sized for one person stepping up into it. An ADA unit sits flush with the ground and offers a wide door, grab bars, and room to turn a wheelchair inside. Public events need accessible units in each group. Crew-only job sites fall under different rules.
A standard unit averages $199–$349, and that range covers a standard three-day rental. A one-day event normally costs what the full weekend does, so take the whole stretch. Deluxe units and restroom trailers sit higher. Your account manager confirms your weekend price and delivery window.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We'll size the order, set a service rhythm that suits your dates, and quote you a clear price while you're on the phone.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
