Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Alabaster
Prime Dumpster rents porta potties right across Alabaster, Alabama, and the fast-growing Shelby County suburbs that run with it down the I-65 corridor. The units land on new subdivision and commercial construction along Highway 31, on utility and sewer crews, on roofing and remodeling jobs in the older neighborhoods, and at outdoor events of all kinds, from a city festival weekend to a ball tournament at a park to a wedding reception on a back lawn.
Your number comes down to which unit you want, how many of them, how long they stay, and how often the truck returns. Below you will find the ranges, the worker counts that apply on an Alabama job site, the Alabama service rule that actually affects your paperwork, and how quickly delivery can be arranged.
All of those ranges assume a three-day booking, which is the usual shape of an Alabaster weekend order. A one-day Saturday drop and a Friday through Sunday window generally price the same.
The first thing that moves an Alabaster quote is service frequency, and in Alabama that is not just a comfort question. State rules tie lawful use of a portable restroom to having a pumping contract in place at a frequency that keeps the unit from becoming a nuisance, so the visit schedule is written into the order deliberately rather than left loose.
Heat is the second. From June to September a unit on an open Shelby County pad takes a beating, and most of our job-site customers here move to twice-weekly service for the summer and back to weekly in the fall.
Access is the third. A pad beside a graded road is quick. A unit that has to go behind a half-built house, down a clay drive after rain, or into a fenced back yard with a narrow gate costs the driver time, and red Alabama clay after a storm decides which truck we send.
Length of booking finishes it. Job sites are quoted in four-week blocks with the weekly service built in, and the weekly figure comes down after the first block.

Request a Quote NowAlabama operates no workplace safety plan of its own, which makes this straightforward. There is no Alabama construction sanitation standard and no state table, so the national count is the whole story on an Alabaster site.
Our porta potty calculator gets you a first number quickly. Bring it to your account manager and they will check it against the real crowd, the hours and the layout.
Decide on who is using it and for how long. Every model is laid out on the porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is what most Alabaster sites run on: one private stall with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is wider inside, has a flat entry with nothing to step over, and carries grab bars with space for a wheelchair to turn around. Put at least one at any event the public can walk into.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty has a working flush and much stronger odor control, which guests notice immediately at a reception.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts a sink, soap and a mirror inside the stall, so nobody has to cross the site to wash their hands.
The Solar Porta Potty powers its light and fan off a roof panel, which solves a graded lot with no power yet and an event that runs after dark.
The Handwashing Station is a free standing unit with fresh water, soap and single-use towels. Federal rules make it compulsory on a work site, and food vendors want one within a few steps of the serving line.
The Restroom Trailer arrives towed, with several private stalls, running water and climate control. Weddings, corporate days and long builds justify it.
Undecided? Give your account manager a crew size or a guest count and they will put the right mix together.
For the unit itself on your own land, no. Alabaster issues no permit to stand a portable restroom on a private lot, a driveway or a fenced work site. There is an Alabama requirement that applies wherever the unit stands, though, and it is about servicing rather than placement.
The Alabama rule that reaches every unit in the state: state public health rules allow a portable toilet to be used only where a contract with a state-permitted pumper is in place for emptying it, at a frequency that keeps it from becoming a nuisance or a hazard, and require the units themselves to meet the recognized portable sanitation industry standards. That means the service agreement is part of your compliance, not just our invoice. You can read the rule on the Alabama Administrative Code.
Private property and work sites: keep the unit behind your property line and off the public sidewalk. If the job already has a building permit, the restroom is simply part of the site setup.
Streets and sidewalks: Alabaster publishes no obstruction or right-of-way permit for placing an object in the roadway. Its street rules cover excavation, which needs a written permit plus a deposit with the city clerk big enough to repair the cut, and limit sidewalk merchandise displays to three feet from a shop front. There is no published route for standing a restroom in the street, so plan on private ground and have your account manager check with Public Works on 205-664-6810 before you assume otherwise.
Events: an organized parade, procession, demonstration or other public assembly in an Alabaster park or on a City street, sidewalk or public way needs a public assembly permit from the City Manager, and the application is due at least 30 days ahead, though the City Manager may take a late one for good cause. The route is unusual and worth knowing: the City Manager reviews and recommends within five days, then the Mayor has 48 hours to act, and if the Mayor does not, the City Manager's recommendation stands.
What the Alabaster application does not ask for: anything about restrooms. There is no ratio, no accessible share, no handwashing figure and no servicing condition in it. You are expected to get the sanitation right without being given a number, which is a reason to settle the count early with your account manager.
Pick firm, level ground with a clear run for the truck. Shelby County clay turns slick fast, so a spot that works in a dry week may not hold weight after a Gulf storm, and telling us about it in advance saves a return trip.
Hold units at least 15 feet from any food service, and keep them well clear of storm inlets, creek banks and the Buck Creek corridor. On a work site, place them within roughly 200 feet of the crew. At an event, break the units into small groups near the crowd but downwind of the cooking, with a tenth of the ground left open so the truck can reach each group through the whole run.
Weekly service is our baseline and more is easy to arrange. Each visit pumps the tank, washes the interior and restocks paper, soap and towels, which is what the Alabama frequency requirement is really about.
On the disposal end, Alabama runs the control through the county. A pumper holds a sewage tank pumping permit issued by the local county health department where its yard sits, honored by the other counties, renewed each year between the start of November and the end of December. No permit issues at all unless an approved disposal point and method are already in place, and copies of the written approvals from the receiving plant go in with the application. The tanks themselves are inspected and permanently marked for sewage only. Your account manager will have the schedule and the disposal arrangement confirmed before your first delivery.

Most Alabaster orders can be on site within 24 to 48 hours. Give us three to five days and the exact models you want will be on the truck. For a festival weekend, a graduation or a spring wedding, allow several weeks, because the whole Birmingham side of the county chases the same dates.
Five habits that keep an Alabaster delivery smooth:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery across Alabaster and the Shelby County communities beside it, including Pelham, Helena, Calera, Montevallo, Chelsea, Columbiana, Hoover and Indian Springs Village, along with the job sites and venues on the roads between them. Our nearest other porta potty pages are close by and easy to serve together: Pelham is three road miles away, Helena about six, and Hoover, Bessemer, Vestavia Hills and Homewood all sit inside twenty.
Allow $199–$349 for a standard unit and $200–$300 for an accessible one. Deluxe flushing and sink models are $300–$400, solar units $500–$600, and a restroom trailer begins at $1,500. A handwashing station is $150–$250. Your account manager confirms the figure on your call.
Begin with one unit per 50 guests over about four hours and add 15 to 20 percent if alcohol is served. Alabaster's permit application never mentions restrooms and Alabama sets no crowd table, so the count is sized with your account manager instead of read off a chart.
Alabama has no plan of its own, so federal counts apply. One toilet serves up to 20 workers. Above 20, allow one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers, and above 200, one of each per 50. Washing facilities are required as well.
Weekly is standard and we can go twice a week or more. Each visit pumps the tank, washes it out and restocks paper, soap and towels. In Alabama the interval also has to be frequent enough to stop the unit becoming a nuisance, which in a Shelby County summer usually means two visits.
No. Alabaster requires no permit for a unit on your own lot, driveway or fenced site. Keep it inside the property line and clear of the sidewalk. What Alabama does require everywhere is a pumping contract with a permitted pumper, which comes with your rental from us.
A standard unit is a single narrow stall with a toilet, a urinal and sanitizer. The accessible model is much wider, enters flat with no step, and holds grab bars plus clear floor space for a wheelchair to turn. Any public event should carry at least one.
Our ranges are built on three days, so a weekend is the base case. Reckon on $199–$349 for a standard unit, $300–$400 for a deluxe flushing model, and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. Your account manager sets the delivery window and the collection day.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will build the count from your real crew or crowd, set a service interval that satisfies the Alabama rule, and give you a figure on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
