At Prime Dumpster, we arrange porta potty rentals across Anchorage, Alaska, from Midtown and the Dowling Road industrial strip to Eagle River, Girdwood and the neighborhoods along the Glenn Highway. Construction is the steady year-round demand in Anchorage, with crews on foundation pours, utility trenches and commercial shells racing the short building season. Summer event weekends add the second wave, from park concerts and fun runs to fishing derbies and backyard graduations.
Your quote turns on the model, the unit count, how long the units stay and how often the service crew visits. Anchorage adds two things most cities do not: one local government that covers the whole borough, and a state safety plan that reaches public crews as well as private ones. Both are explained below, along with what we can and cannot tell you about the Municipality's own rules.
Distance inside the Municipality is the first thing that moves an Anchorage price. The borough runs from Eklutna in the north to Girdwood and Portage in the south, so a unit going up Turnagain Arm sits on a very different service route from one dropped off in Spenard. Your account manager prices the route, not just the unit on the ground.
Season is the second lever, and it works in both directions. From late spring to early fall, Anchorage building crews and event organizers book the same weeks, and service windows tighten. A winter job site needs a unit that stays usable in the cold, which affects how often the tank is serviced and what goes into it, so say up front if your Anchorage project runs through freeze-up.
Access is the third. A paved lot off the Seward Highway takes a service truck straight in. A hillside lot above Abbott Road or a gravel pad with spring breakup mud can mean a longer carry for the driver, and that shows up in the Anchorage quote.

Request a Quote NowAlaska runs its own workplace safety plan, and it covers both private employers and state and local government workers. That plan has adopted all federal standards by reference, so the unit count on an Anchorage job site is the federal table enforced by the state.
Our porta potty calculator gives you a starting number for an Anchorage event, and your account manager checks it against your busiest hour.
Choose by who uses the unit and how long it has to stand in Anchorage weather. Each model is described on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is the job-site default in Anchorage: a single stall with a toilet, urinal, paper and hand sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty adds a wide door, a level floor, grab bars and room to turn a wheelchair. Any Anchorage event the public walks into should have one in each group.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty flushes and keeps odors down, a good fit for a backyard wedding in Bear Valley or a lodge reception.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts a sink, soap and mirror inside the stall so guests never leave it to wash.
The Solar Porta Potty runs a light and vent fan from a roof panel. Long Anchorage summer daylight suits it well on a remote trailhead or cabin site.
The Handwashing Station is a stand-alone unit with water, soap and towels. Federal rules expect washing on a job site, and food stalls need one close by.
The Restroom Trailer gives several private rooms with running water and climate control, which matters on a long Anchorage project or a corporate event in shoulder season.
Tell your account manager who will use the units and for how long, and they will put the right mix together.
On private property, a unit is ordinary site equipment. A porta potty on your own lot, driveway or fenced job site is normally covered by the work you are already doing, and where a building permit is open the restroom is part of that setup.
For streets, parks and public land, the honest answer starts with how Anchorage is governed. Anchorage is a unified municipality: the Census lists it as both the city and the county-level government for the whole borough. There is no separate county office to check. One local government sets the rules for Downtown, Eagle River and Girdwood alike.
We cannot quote those rules to you, and here is why. The Municipality's website asks automated readers not to crawl it, and we respect that request, so nothing here states what the Municipal code does or does not require for a unit on a street, sidewalk or park. The code certainly exists. We simply have not read it, and we will not guess at it.
What that means for your order. In most cities, a placement on a public right of way needs permission from the agency that maintains the road, and an event on public land goes through an event or park use process. Plan on Anchorage working the same way until the Municipality tells you otherwise. Before a unit goes anywhere public, your account manager contacts the Municipality, gets the right office and its lead time named, and holds delivery until that is settled.
The federal rule also defers to local law. Where a job site has no sewer connection, the federal standard allows chemical toilets unless local codes prohibit them. That is one more reason the Municipal answer matters before a long project starts.
Set each unit on firm, level ground with a clear path for the service truck. In Anchorage that often means a gravel pad rather than a soft lawn, because breakup season turns yards to mud. Keep units at least 15 feet from food service, back from creeks and storm drains, and within about 200 feet of the crew on a work site.
Think about snow and wind. A unit placed where the plow piles snow, or where a gust off the Inlet can rock it, is a unit nobody can reach on service day. Facing the door away from the prevailing wind and leaving a cleared approach for the truck saves trouble from October to April.
Service frequency follows use. Weekly suits most Anchorage job sites, while a busy event unit or a large crew may need two visits a week. Each visit pumps the tank, cleans the interior and restocks paper and sanitizer. The waste is carried by a licensed hauler to a facility permitted to accept it. Alaska's environmental agency did not let us read its pages, so we do not name a specific Anchorage receiving facility here. Your account manager confirms the service day and the disposal arrangement in writing before the first delivery.

Most Anchorage orders can be on site within one to three days, and a specific model or a large count may need a week. For a summer festival weekend or anything on public land, give us several weeks, because the Municipal paperwork sets the date more than the unit does.
Five ways to keep an Anchorage delivery on track:
Prime Dumpster covers the whole Municipality of Anchorage, from Eagle River and Chugiak in the north to Girdwood at the head of Turnagain Arm. The nearest other city with its own porta potty page is Fairbanks, 360 miles north up the Parks Highway, so Anchorage orders are planned as their own market rather than as part of a neighboring metro.
Standard units run $199–$349 and ADA units $200–$300. Deluxe flushing and sink models are $300–$400, solar units $500–$600, handwashing stations $150–$250, and restroom trailers start at $1,500. Long service routes to Girdwood or Eagle River and winter servicing are the usual reasons an Anchorage figure moves.
We could find no Anchorage event ratio we were able to read, so plan on one unit per 50 guests for about four hours and add 15 to 20 percent if alcohol is served. Put an accessible unit in every group. Your account manager sizes the order from your peak hour.
Alaska adopts the federal table, so one facility covers a crew of 20 or fewer, then one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers above that, and per 50 at 200 workers or more. In Anchorage that applies to Municipal crews as well as private contractors.
Weekly is standard for most Anchorage job sites, and twice a week suits busy event units or large crews. Each visit pumps the tank, cleans the inside and restocks paper and sanitizer. Winter work may change the plan, so tell your account manager if the job runs through freeze-up.
On your own Anchorage lot, a unit is normally treated as site equipment and needs nothing extra. A street, sidewalk or park is different, and because the Municipality's code was not available to us, your account manager confirms that answer with the Municipality before delivery.
A standard unit is a compact single stall with a toilet, urinal and sanitizer. An ADA unit is wider, enters at ground level, and adds grab bars and turning space for a wheelchair. Any Anchorage event open to the public should include accessible units in each group.
An Anchorage weekend usually fits our standard short rental and prices from the same ranges: $199–$349 for a standard unit, $300–$400 for a deluxe flushing model and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. Your account manager sets drop-off and pickup around your dates.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will tell you plainly which Alaska rule sets your unit count and what we still need the Municipality to confirm before anything goes on public ground.
From the first call to the last pickup, your Prime Dumpster account manager keeps the unit count, the service schedule, the Municipal contact and the delivery window together, so your Anchorage project has one point of contact for every restroom question.
