Home Areas We Service North Dakota Porta Potty Rental Bismarck, North Dakota 58501

At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Bismarck, North Dakota, and the Missouri River communities on both banks. Commercial construction on the north and south edges of town, street and utility work downtown, energy and pipeline crews passing through, county fair week, summer street events, and tailgates and weddings all keep portable toilets moving here.
Your price rests on the units you pick, the number you need, the length of the rental, and how often a truck comes out. Below you will find the ranges, how to size an order, the City rules that apply, and how quickly we can get units on site.
Each range assumes a standard three-day rental, the window nearly every weekend event uses. Construction rentals run on a different clock, quoted in four-week cycles with a cleaning stop built in, which suits a build that stretches across a short northern season.
Bismarck's calendar squeezes a lot of work into a few months. Between the spring thaw and the first hard freeze, contractors, street crews, and event organizers all want units at once. Booking outside that crush is the easiest way to keep a price steady.
Site conditions matter here more than in milder places. A paved lot off Bismarck Expressway is simple. A gravel approach that turns soft during breakup, a river-bottom lot, or a rural site down a section road adds time to every service visit, and that shows in the quote.
Extras round out the total. Accessible units for a public event, sinks beside food trucks, solar units for a site with no power, and winter-weather handling all factor in. Your account manager will explain each one before you commit.

Request a Quote NowCount people and hours before anything else. These are our planning numbers:
Two local realities push the count up. Cold-weather work means crews spend longer suited up and take fewer, longer breaks, so a walk across a big site costs real time. And an outdoor event in July on the open prairie sees heavier use than the same crowd in shade, because there is nowhere else to go.
North Dakota also caps how long a temporary food stand can run at one spot, at 14 days in a row, and the state asks for the license application at least 10 days ahead. If your event feeds people, that timeline sets your restroom planning too.
Get a starting number from our porta potty calculator, then let your account manager adjust it for the season.

Pick by the people who use it. Every model is described on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty handles most jobs, with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and sanitizer. It suits framing crews, road work, and small gatherings.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is larger, with ground-level entry, a wide door, grab bars, and turning room for a wheelchair. Include one at any public event.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty brings a flushing bowl and better odor control, a step up that wedding and banquet guests notice right away.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink carries the sink, soap, and mirror inside the unit, handy when the weather outside is not inviting.
The Solar Porta Potty lights and vents on solar power, which suits a pipeline right-of-way, a field site, or a rural build with no service drop.
The Handwashing Station is a standalone sink stocked with clean water, soap, and towels. Set one at every food area.
The Restroom Trailer offers several stalls, running water, and climate control. On the prairie, that climate control cuts both ways and is welcome in July and in October.
Not sure what mix you need? Describe the job to your account manager and they will build the order.
On private property, such as your yard, a fenced job site, or a farmyard, a porta potty needs no City permit in Bismarck.
City right of way: A permit is required for work within city rights of way, and Bismarck draws that boundary widely. It runs from the front property line on one side of the street to the front property line on the other, taking in the street, the sidewalk, and the boulevard strip. Work there has to be done by a city-approved licensed and bonded contractor. Permits come from the Engineering Department at 221 North 5th Street, second floor, or through the City's online permit system. Engineering answers at 701-355-1505.
Block parties: A residential street closure takes a written request 10 days ahead with the street, the nearest intersections, the date and time, the purpose, and your contact details. If it is approved, you bring in a private signing contractor to set at least four Type III barricades and two road closed signs, and you pay for putting them out and picking them up. Police, Fire, Ambulance, and Engineering all need 48 hours' notice. A block may close only once a year, and never on an arterial or primary collector route.
Vendors and street events: Commercial use of sidewalks, streets, and public grounds runs on its own track, with designated vending areas, a vendor map, and a vendor application through Engineering at 701-355-1529.
State highways: The state transportation department works through eight district offices, and right-of-way use agreements are the District Engineer's call. State crews do not maintain city or county roads, so for a Bismarck street you are back with the City.
Food vendors: A local public health agency licenses temporary food stands, the application goes in at least 10 days ahead, and the state publishes handwashing station guidance for those booths.
If you cannot tell who controls your spot, your account manager can find the right office before delivery.

Where the unit goes decides how the rental feels.
Set units on firm, level ground. Frozen ground holds beautifully; the same spot during spring breakup does not, so choose a surface that drains. Give the truck a clear, wide approach, and in winter keep the path plowed so a service stop is not lost to a drift.
Keep units at least 15 feet from any food service and well back from the river, creeks, wells, and storm inlets. On a job site, place them within about 200 feet of the work so crews in heavy gear are not crossing the whole lot.
A standard rental includes one service visit a week to pump, clean, and restock. Big crews, hot July stretches, and events with alcohol are the usual reasons to add a stop. In deep cold, tell us early so units can be prepped for the temperature.
North Dakota controls the disposal end closely. The state's septic pumper program covers the servicing of portable restrooms, the waste has to go to a state-permitted wastewater treatment facility or be land-applied under the rules, and the companies that do this work pass an annual exam and file a yearly report listing the disposal sites they used. Ordinary city sewage takes a different route, to the City wastewater plant, which handles more than 6.5 million gallons a day against a capacity of 13 million and discharges treated water back to the Missouri River. Your account manager can set your service days and talk through the best spot on site.

Most Bismarck deliveries happen within 24 to 48 hours, and three to five days of notice is comfortable. Summer is the pinch. From June through September, construction, fairs, ball tournaments, and weddings all compete for the same units, so reserve those dates weeks out. Winter orders usually move faster, but plan around road conditions and pick a spot a truck can still reach in February.
Five things that keep a delivery on track:
Prime Dumpster delivers porta potties across Bismarck and the communities nearby, including Mandan, Lincoln, Menoken, Baldwin, Wilton, Washburn, New Salem, Hazelton, and the rural stretches of Burleigh and Morton counties. Whether the job is a commercial build on the north side, a riverside wedding, or a fair weekend downtown, we plan delivery, service, and pickup around your schedule.

Standard units average $199–$349 each and accessible units $200–$300. Deluxe flushing and sink units run $300–$400, solar units $500–$600, handwashing stations $150–$250, and restroom trailers begin at $1,500. Your total depends on how many units, how long, and how often we service them. Your account manager quotes it free.
Use 1 unit for every 50 guests at a four-hour event, then add 15 to 20 percent when alcohol is served. A 120-guest reception usually needs three units. Include a handwashing station near food, and add at least one accessible unit whenever the public is invited to attend.
North Dakota follows the federal construction counts: 1 toilet for a crew of 20 or fewer, then 1 toilet and 1 urinal for every 40 workers. On a large or spread-out site, many Bismarck contractors add a unit anyway so crews in cold-weather gear are not walking far between tasks.
Weekly service is the standard. Each visit pumps the tank, cleans the interior, and restocks paper and sanitizer. Summer heat, large crews, and event weekends often warrant a second stop. In hard winter weather, tell your account manager so the service route and unit prep suit the temperature.
Usually not. A unit on your own lot, driveway, or fenced job site in Bismarck needs no City permit. Permission is needed once it sits in the city right of way, which here includes the street, the sidewalk, and the boulevard strip. Your account manager can help you confirm.
A standard unit is compact and serves one person at a time. An accessible unit is wider, with a flat entry, a broad door, grab bars, and space to turn a wheelchair. Public events should carry one in each group of units. Sites used only by a construction crew are exempt from that requirement.
Weekend event rentals price across three days, so a Saturday-only gathering costs close to a full weekend booking. Standard units average $199–$349 and deluxe flushing units $300–$400. Delivery, pickup, and any added service stop go on separately. Your account manager will confirm the weekend figure.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will size the order, plan service around your busiest days and the weather, and give you a clear price on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
