in Hutchinson
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Hutchinson, Kansas, and the Reno County communities along the Arkansas River. Demand here runs on grain, salt and manufacturing plant work, construction and renovation across the older residential grid, street and levee projects, and a civic calendar that fills the downtown and the parks with fairs, runs, car shows and community events most of the year.
Your quote follows the model you choose, how many units go out, how long they stay and how often they are serviced. Below are our ranges, the count a Kansas crew needs, the City's event timetable, and how fast we can be there.
Service visits are the thing to think about hardest in Hutchinson, and for two reasons. The City's event permit power extends to requiring both the restrooms and their servicing, so on a permitted event the visit schedule can be a condition rather than a preference. And Kansas treats a place used for human waste that gives off foul odors as a public health nuisance local boards of health are directed to abate, which is a plain reason to pay for the extra visit instead of stretching the interval.
Distance matters next. Reno County is wide and largely rural, so a site out on a county road is a longer run than one near Avenue B, and that lands on each visit.
Booking length does most of the remaining arithmetic. Our ranges assume about three days on site, so a Saturday event and a weekend job price out close together, while a plant project running a month moves onto four-week pricing with servicing included. Guest-facing choices then sit on top: a flushing model or a trailer for a wedding or a company function costs more than a standard stall, and your account manager will say which the occasion needs.

Your account manager will give you a number and a service schedule you can write straight onto the application.
Choose by who uses the unit and for how long. Every model is described on the porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is the working unit on a Reno County site: a private stall with toilet, urinal and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is the wide unit with a level entry, grab bars and turning room, and it should be your single unit at anything open to the public.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty has a flushing bowl and much better odor control, which matters a great deal through a Kansas summer.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink builds the sink, soap and mirror into the stall, so guests wash without walking the site.
The Solar Porta Potty powers its light and vent from a roof panel, the right answer on a rural pad or an evening booking with no power.
The Handwashing Station is the freestanding unit the federal rule expects on a job site, and it belongs next to any food stand.
The Restroom Trailer brings several private stalls, running water and climate control, the right choice for guest-facing events and long contracts.
Your account manager will set the mix.
On private ground for a crew, no. Nothing is filed before a unit stands on a lot, a yard or a fenced site. Events on public ground are where Hutchinson is demanding, and the timetable is the part that catches people out.
There are three dates, not one. The community event application goes to the City Manager's Office 60 days before the event. Filed inside 45 days it attracts a late application fee. And no application is accepted inside 30 days unless the City Manager approves it. A late idea in Hutchinson does not simply cost more; it can be refused outright.
Seven departments read it. Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks, Engineering, Law and Planning all review the application before the City Manager gives final approval, which is why the policy asks for the complete packet rather than a form on its own.
The City can require the restrooms and the service. Its policy states that depending on the event and the expected attendance the City may require portable restrooms and service. There is no published ratio behind that, so the number is set case by case.
The form asks what you have arranged. Among the application questions is whether the event will require restroom facilities and, if so, what arrangement will be made. Your supplier and your schedule therefore become part of the permit file, so settle the order before you file.
Positions go on the site plan. The City's site plan checklist asks you to locate and label portable restrooms alongside vendors, barricades, tents, stages, fencing, seating and trash receptacles.
Trail and levee events have their own rules and their own approver. Placement of temporary facilities, with portable toilets named, must be submitted with the application and approved by the Parks Director or a designee. Nothing may stand closer than five feet to the trail or levee, and locations have to be approved by the Flood and Stormwater Supervisor.
Clean-up is a two-hour window, and this is the tightest we deal with anywhere. The permit holder has to clean the street, parking lot, park, trail or other public area within two hours after the event ends, and if that does not happen the City cleans it and collects the cost. The City Manager's Office can extend the deadline and will note it on the permit. Collection of your units has to be scheduled inside that window or agreed in advance, which is a real planning constraint on an evening event.
A few other conditions worth budgeting for. Liability insurance of $1,000,000 combined single limit naming the City as certificate holder goes in with the application, with block parties excepted. Police security is assessed by the Police Chief and charged by the hour before the permit issues. And an event in a designated entertainment district needs approval by resolution of the Governing Body, which adds a meeting date to your timeline.
Who to call: the City Manager's Office at 125 East Avenue B on 620-694-2641, the Parks Department on 620-694-1905, and Flood Control and Stormwater on 620-694-1900 for a trail or levee position. Your account manager can settle the count and the service schedule first.
Level ground, a clear approach for the service truck and sensible distance from food and drinking water cover the basics. Keep units inside roughly 200 feet of the crew they serve, and keep a lane open to each one once an event crowd fills in, because a unit closed in behind a vendor row cannot be emptied.
Near the river and the levee, hold the five-foot clearance and get the position signed off before the map is finished. Keep units off storm inlets and well back from any wellhead on a rural property, because the state's nuisance rule mentions a position making pollution of a domestic water supply likely.
That nuisance rule is the one piece of Kansas law touching this product. It treats a place used for the deposit of human waste as a public health nuisance where it lets animals or insects at the contents or produces foul odors, and it directs local boards of health to order abatement. A sealed, serviced, odor-controlled unit sits outside that; a unit left too long between visits in August does not.
Weekly service is our baseline for a steady crew. Summer heat, a hard-working plant site or a guest-facing booking moves that to twice weekly or a daily visit through an event weekend. Every visit removes the waste, sanitizes the seat and urinal, recharges the holding solution and restocks tissue, soap and towels. The contents travel to a permitted treatment plant rather than anywhere on site, and your account manager confirms the interval and the collection time in writing before delivery.

Most Hutchinson orders go out within 24 to 48 hours, and three to five days secures the exact models you want. Rural Reno County addresses may need an extra day. Anything tied to a City event permit needs a run-up of at least two months, because the application is due 60 days out and the door closes 30 days out.
Five habits that keep a Hutchinson delivery on schedule:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery throughout Hutchinson and across Reno County, including South Hutchinson, Haven, Nickerson, Buhler, Pretty Prairie and the farm addresses between them. Only two of our other Kansas pages sit inside 60 road miles, and both lie southeast toward Wichita, because that is where the rest of our Kansas coverage is rather than a reflection of how far we will travel.
A standard unit is $199–$349 and an accessible one $200–$300. Deluxe flushing and sink models run $300–$400, solar units $500–$600, and restroom trailers start from $1,500. A handwashing station is $150–$250, and the federal rule expects one on a job site.
Kansas publishes no table and the City sets no ratio, though it can require restrooms and their service as a permit condition. We plan about one unit per 50 guests over four hours and add 15 to 20 percent where drinks are served.
Kansas has no plan of its own, so federal rules apply directly. One toilet for a crew up to 20, then one toilet seat and one urinal for every 40 workers through 199, and one of each per 50 above that. A washing facility is required as well.
Weekly is our baseline, and Kansas summers usually argue for twice weekly on a working site. The state treats a unit producing foul odors as a public health nuisance, so the interval matters legally as well as practically. Events generally want a daily visit.
Not on private ground. A community event on a street, park, trail or parking lot runs on the City's permit, filed 60 days ahead, and the City may require portable restrooms and their service as a condition of approval.
A standard unit is one narrow stall with a toilet, a urinal and sanitizer. The accessible model is wider, swaps the step for a level threshold, and adds grab bars with clear turning space for a wheelchair. Where one unit serves the public, make it the accessible one.
Our ranges assume about a three-day window, so a weekend is the ordinary case rather than a premium. Allow $199–$349 for a standard unit, $300–$400 for a deluxe flushing model and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. Ask about collection timing when you book.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will set the count against the federal figure, put the service schedule in writing for your application, and price it on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
