Most household and construction debris is fine to load. The limits come from New York's disposal rules and from the facilities that take the waste.
New York State bans throwing away electronics. Since 2015, computers, TVs, monitors, printers, and small devices can't go to landfills, waste-to-energy plants, or the trash. Take them to an electronics recycling drop-off instead.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, oil, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either. Older Poughkeepsie homes may have asbestos in pipe wrap, floor tile, or siding, so test suspect material before demolition.
Tires and appliances with refrigerant should also stay out. If you're not sure about an item, ask your account manager before it goes in.
