Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Cheyenne
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Cheyenne, Wyoming, and the ranch country and small towns spread across Laramie County around it. Commercial and housing construction on the city's north and east edges, highway and wind-energy work out on the plains, rodeo and parade events in July, county fair weekends, high-plains weddings and roundup crews all bring units out here.
Four things set the quote: the model, the number of units, the length of the rental, and how often a truck comes back to service them. Below are the ranges, the count that governs a Wyoming job site and why the state can never make it stricter, the City approvals that matter, and how quickly we can be on site.
A short Cheyenne booking is priced as a three-day hold, which is why a Saturday roping event and a Friday-through-Sunday festival usually come out at the same number. Longer jobs run on four-week cycles with a cleaning visit built in.
Distance is the single biggest local variable. Laramie County is large and thinly settled, and a unit set at a wind site or a ranch headquarters thirty miles out of town carries a longer delivery and a longer service run than one on a paved lot off a city street. Grouping units on one route is the usual way to bring that down, and your account manager will look for it.
Wind is the second. Cheyenne sits high and exposed, and units on open ground want ballast or staking and a sheltered orientation. It is worth saying where the prevailing gusts come from when you book, because it changes how the driver sets the unit rather than what you pay.
Season does the rest. The outdoor stretch here is short and busy, with construction, highway work and the big summer event weeks all landing together. Earlier notice gets you a better pick of units.

Our porta potty calculator gives a first figure, then your account manager confirms it against the federal count and your layout.
Seven models cover nearly every Laramie County booking. Our porta potty options page lays them out together.
The Standard Porta Potty holds a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder and sanitizer in one stall, and it is the workhorse for construction, highway work and ranch jobs.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is wider, with a flat entry, grab bars and wheelchair turning room. Any event the public attends needs at least one.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty flushes and vents much better, which is what you want at a wedding on a ranch or a corporate day out.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts the basin, soap and mirror inside the stall, so guests are not walking into the wind to wash their hands.
The Solar Porta Potty runs its light and fan from a panel, which is the right answer at a wind site, a pipeline spread or a pasture with no power anywhere near it.
The Handwashing Station is a stand-alone sink with clean water, soap and towels, and it is both a job site requirement and the thing food vendors need.
The Restroom Trailer brings several stalls, plumbing and climate control, and on the high plains the climate control earns its money in both directions.
Most orders combine models. Walk the job through with your account manager and they will build the mix.
On private ground, no City permit applies. A yard, a fenced site, a ranch or a business lot is yours to arrange.
City streets, alleys and sidewalks: Cheyenne's code says nobody may erect, maintain or in any way cause an obstruction of any character in or on a street, alley or sidewalk unless the code or another ordinance provides for it, and the stated exception lets the mayor or City Council give permission for temporary signs, banners or necessary obstructions. The practical route is the right-of-way encroachment permit, which the code requires for any work within the public right of way, with fees based on the valuation of the work and no exception except a specific waiver from the City Engineer. The City Engineer's office oversees everything in the public right of way, and the city main line is 307-637-6200.
One thing not to confuse: Cheyenne has a separate set of rules for mobile storage containers in the right of way, with their own application deadline, time limits and renewal fees. Those rules are written for a container used to store items and do not apply to a restroom unit. If anyone quotes that section at you, the general encroachment permit is the one you want.
City parks and facilities: Cheyenne rents its community house, the Lions Park amphitheatre and park shelters through the Program and Facilities Division on 307-637-6423, which is where to start for a park event. Restroom planning sits alongside that booking rather than inside it.
State highways: an event on a state highway or along a state highway right of way needs prior approval from the Wyoming Department of Transportation, which publishes a special event permit application and a guide for organizers. Allow about two months, because the application goes in well ahead and the department takes time to answer.
No City restroom count: Cheyenne publishes no event unit ratio, accessible percentage, handwashing ratio or removal deadline, and there is no event chapter in the city code. We size the order with you rather than borrow a figure from somewhere else, and your account manager flags anything a reviewer is likely to ask.
Not sure which counter owns your spot? Your account manager can point you at it before the truck is loaded.
Firm, level ground first, then think about wind. On open high-plains ground a unit wants ballast or staking and a door turned out of the prevailing gusts, and that is worth deciding with the driver rather than after the first windy night.
Give the truck a straight approach with clearance overhead. Cheyenne's own tree rules give a sense of the margins the City expects on public ways, at fourteen feet over streets and alleys and eight feet over sidewalks, and a service truck wants that kind of room on a private drive too. Gravel ranch roads, cattle guards and locked gates are the three things worth mentioning in advance. On a job site, keep the walk under 200 feet.
Keep units clear of food service, stock tanks, wells and drainage channels.
Weekly cleaning is the baseline. Each visit pumps the tank, scrubs and disinfects the interior and restocks paper and sanitizer. Big crews, hot July weeks and guest-facing events usually justify a second visit, and a multi-day event is best serviced at the close of each day.
There is one local fact worth knowing on the disposal side. The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities treats anyone pumping septic tanks, holding tanks or chemical toilets as a wastewater hauler, and its published rules say septage is accepted only from within Laramie County, with anything from outside the county assessed case by case and needing written approval from the Water Reclamation Division Manager. Cheyenne's code backs that up by barring trucked or hauled loads except at discharge points the utility designates. Cheyenne-Laramie County Public Health also licenses non-hazardous liquid waste haulers, and its Environmental Health office is on 307-633-4090. All of that is our side of the job, but it is why a unit serviced on a site well outside the county needs planning rather than a phone call on the day. Your account manager handles it.

Most Cheyenne orders go out within 24 to 48 hours. Three to five days of notice makes a job site easy. For the big summer event weeks, a county fair weekend or an outdoor wedding, allow several weeks, because the short season concentrates demand into a few months.
Five habits that keep a delivery clean:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery throughout Cheyenne and across Laramie County. Wyoming is the emptiest state we serve, and the honest position is that none of our other Wyoming service towns is close: Laramie is the nearest at about 50 road miles, then Douglas at 130 and Casper at 180. Laramie sits around 42 miles straight-line, and the extra road distance is the interstate climbing over the Laramie Range on its way across rather than running flat. Whether your site is a commercial build on the north side of town, a highway job out on the plains or an event downtown, we plan delivery, cleaning and collection around your dates.
Standard units in Cheyenne average $199 to $349 and accessible units $200 to $300. Deluxe models run $300 to $400, and a restroom trailer starts at $1,500. Those ranges assume a three-day hold. Count, rental length, service frequency and travel distance set the rest, confirmed by your account manager on a free quote.
Cheyenne publishes no ratio, so start at one unit for every 50 guests over about four hours and add 15 to 20 percent if alcohol is served. A 120-guest ranch wedding lands near three units plus a sink. Your account manager will size it with you rather than copy another city's number.
The federal count applies, because Wyoming's own law bars the state from writing a stricter standard. One toilet covers a crew of 20 or fewer, then one toilet seat and one urinal for every 40 workers. A handwashing facility is required too. Tell your account manager the crew size and shifts.
Weekly service is standard. Each visit pumps the tank, washes and disinfects the interior and restocks paper and sanitizer. Larger crews, hot weeks and guest-facing events usually need a second visit, and multi-day events are best serviced at the end of each operating day.
No. A unit on your own lot, ranch or fenced job site in Cheyenne needs no City permit. The question only arises once it stands in a street, alley or sidewalk, where the encroachment permit from the City Engineer applies, or on a state highway right of way.
A standard unit is a narrow stall with a toilet, urinal and sanitizer. An accessible unit is wider, with a level entry, grab bars and space to turn a wheelchair. At public events roughly one unit in 20 should be accessible, and every group of units needs at least one.
A weekend prices as a three-day hold, so Friday to Sunday costs close to a single Saturday. Standard units average $199 to $349, deluxe flushing units $300 to $400, and a handwashing station $150 to $250. Your account manager confirms the delivery and pickup windows when you book.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. One call usually settles the count, the placement and the service route.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
