Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Elko
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Elko, Nevada, and the high desert, ranch country and mining districts around it. Construction here means mine and mill projects, camp housing, highway and utility work over long distances, and building in town, while events run from a rodeo weekend to a street festival downtown to a gathering on open ground with nothing plumbed for miles.
What you pay reflects the model, how many units you take, how long they stay, and how often a truck returns. Below are our ranges, the count that governs a Nevada job site, the statewide event table most organizers have never seen, the permits behind servicing, and our delivery times.
Distance drives an Elko quote harder than anything else. Sites out toward the mines, the ranches or a stretch of highway can sit an hour or more from pavement, and a service route has to be built around that. Say where the job really is and we will price the run honestly.
Remoteness also changes the model. Where there is no power and no shade, a solar unit stops being a luxury, and on a long camp-style job a trailer often costs less than a row of standard units serviced twice as often.
Booking length works as it does everywhere. Our ranges assume about three days on the ground, so one Saturday and a whole weekend usually land together, while a project moves onto four-week pricing with scheduled service built in. The last thing to plan is the calendar: Elko's big weekends concentrate into a few months, and when the town fills, every flushing unit and trailer in the region is already committed.

Request a Quote NowNevada splits in an unusual way. The construction answer is the ordinary national one, and the event answer is a real state table that very few organizers know exists.
Work the figures through our porta potty calculator, then let your account manager compare the state table with our comfort figure and take the larger.
Pick for the distance and the user, not just the headcount. The full range sits on the porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty handles most Elko work: one enclosed stall, toilet and urinal, paper holder and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is a wider shell with a flat entry, grab bars and clear turning space, and belongs wherever the public is invited.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty adds a flushing bowl and far stronger odor control, which is the right call for a wedding.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink carries the basin, soap and mirror inside the stall, which keeps a queue moving.
The Solar Porta Potty runs its light and ventilation from a roof panel. On a desert site with no power for miles, this is the model we recommend first.
The Handwashing Station stands on its own with clean water, soap and single-use towels. Nevada's event rules require handwashing where food is prepared, and federal rules require it where people work.
The Restroom Trailer arrives as a small building with separate plumbed stalls and climate control, which suits a camp-style project or a formal event.
Give your account manager the distance and the duration and they will specify the mix.
Standing a unit on your own ground needs no City permit. Nevada regulates two other things, though, and both reach a customer rather than only a supplier.
Servicing is permitted at state level, through the health authority. Nevada makes it unlawful to run a service providing nonsewered toilets without a permit, and separately requires an annual septic tank pumping contractor permit before anyone empties one. That permit lists every vehicle and tank, names each discharge location and carries a letter of acceptance from the site taking the waste. Trucks show the operator's name, telephone number and permit number in letters at least four inches high, tanks are labelled as sewage, records run three years, and waste may not be deposited within 600 feet of a highway or a residence. The state fee list sets $332 a year plus $322 for each pumping unit. Your supplier's paperwork is part of your compliance, and your account manager confirms the arrangements in writing.
The units themselves carry state standards. An in-service unit must be cleaned at least once every seven days and more often where needed, kept supplied with paper, fitted with a self-closing door and screened openings, and marked with the name and telephone number of the service that provided it. The holding tank must be enclosed, vented, watertight and empty while the unit is in transit.
Private property and job sites: keep units inside your boundary and off the public walk. On a mine or ranch site, place them where a service truck can turn without a long reverse.
City events run through the clerk, and the council decides the street. Elko treats a planned public gathering on a street or other city property as a special event when it involves vendors, sits in the downtown corridor between Railroad Street and Commercial Street, or needs a closure. The application goes to the city clerk at least 30 days ahead, with sign-off from the police, fire, street and park departments, insurance naming the City, and area mapping. A closure needs City Council approval the first time, after which a repeat may be approved administratively. City offices are at 1751 College Avenue on 775-777-7100.
Sanitation is written into the Elko permit as your duty. The City makes it the responsibility of the event organizer to provide for the sanitation and disposal needs identified through the application process. There is no published Elko ratio, so the number comes from the state table and your plan, and the City signs off on what you present. A committee of the mayor, a council member, the fire chief and the police chief can revoke a permit even while the event is running, so an under-supplied site is a real risk.
Very large or multi-day gatherings add a second permit. An outdoor assembly expecting 500 or more people a day, running 20 or more hours a day for more than three days at a site without permanent facilities, needs a health authority permit filed at least 30 days before the first day. The site plan must identify the location, types and number of toilets and handwashing facilities, and one handwashing facility is required at each group of toilets. The permit dies at midnight on the 30th day and cannot be renewed. State fees run per day: $500 for 500 to 1,000 expected, $750 up to 5,000, $1,000 up to 10,000 and $2,644 above that, under the state fee list.
Stand the units on compacted level ground a truck can pull beside. Hold them 15 feet or more from food, clear of drainage toward the Humboldt River, and keep the walk from the work area short. In the high desert, wind matters: anchor anything exposed and take shelter where it exists. Group event units and put an accessible model in each group.
The contents are sewage and are handled as sewage. The load goes to a works approved to take it, under the discharge approvals the state permit names, and never onto open ground, into a ditch or near a water source.
A service call empties the tank, disinfects the seat and interior, and replaces paper, soap and towels. State rules set seven days as the longest an in-service unit should go between cleanings, and that is our baseline. Heavy summer use, a rodeo weekend or a catering line all justify shortening it. Before the first delivery your account manager fixes the frequency, the access route and the collection date.

Most Elko orders reach the site within 24 to 48 hours, and three to five days secures the specific models you want. For a rodeo weekend, a festival or a summer wedding, think in weeks: the whole region's stock moves at once.
Five habits that keep a delivery on schedule:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery throughout Elko and the northeastern Nevada communities around it, including Spring Creek, Carlin, Lamoille, Wells, Jackpot and the mining districts along the Humboldt. Elko is the most isolated page we have anywhere: the nearest other Nevada page is Fernley at roughly 276 road miles, with Sparks and Reno beyond it at about 307 and 311. Those three are linked below, and we would rather be straight about the distance than pretend otherwise.
Budget $199–$349 for a standard unit and $200–$300 for an accessible one. Deluxe flushing and sink models sit at $300–$400, solar units at $500–$600, and trailers open at $1,500. A handwashing station is $150–$250, and a remote site carries a delivery component quoted openly.
Nevada publishes a state table using peak hourly attendance and the hours people stay, which at four hours sets 5 units up to 500 people and 8 up to 1,000. Our comfort figure is a unit per 50 guests, so order to whichever number is larger.
The national figures apply in Nevada: one toilet for a crew of 20 or fewer, then one toilet seat and one urinal for each 40 workers above that, plus washing facilities. Nevada's own construction standards cover cranes, steel erection and asbestos, and set no toilet table.
Nevada rules say an in-service unit must be cleaned at least once every seven days, and more often where conditions call for it. That is our baseline too. Summer heat, a busy rodeo weekend or food service beside the units are all reasons to shorten the interval.
No permit covers a unit standing on private ground in Elko. The permits Nevada does require sit with the service provider: a permit to supply nonsewered toilets and an annual pumping contractor permit from the health authority before anyone empties them.
A standard unit is one slim stall with a toilet, urinal and sanitizer. The accessible version is wider, has no step at the door, and carries grab bars with enough clear floor for a wheelchair to turn. Accessible provision belongs in every group of units at a public event.
A weekend sits inside the three-day window our rates assume, so it prices as the base case. Allow $199–$349 for a standard model, $300–$400 for deluxe flushing and $150–$250 for a station. For a remote site, ask about combining the delivery with the collection run.
Tell us the project or the event, your zip code, and exactly where the site sits on the map. We will apply the right Nevada count, specify for desert conditions, flag both the City and the state filings, and quote the run honestly on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
