Everyday construction and cleanout debris is welcome. The limits come from Minnesota rules and from Anoka County.
Minnesota defines demolition debris narrowly, as concrete, brick, bituminous concrete, untreated wood, masonry, glass, trees, rock, and plastic building parts, and it keeps household garbage and asbestos out of that category. Asbestos has its own handling rules and never belongs in a general debris container.
Hazardous waste is out as well. Paint, solvents, fuel, antifreeze, pesticides, and pool chemicals all have to go to the Anoka County Household Hazardous Waste Facility rather than in a container. Lithium ion and rechargeable batteries should never go in garbage or recycling, since they start fires in trucks and at sorting lines.
Yard waste has its own rule in Anoka County, where putting it in the trash is against the law. Grass, leaves, and brush need a yard waste site or a separate container.
Tires, appliances with refrigerant, mattresses, and electronics all need separate handling and are usually billed per piece. Mention them to your account manager when you book rather than hiding them in the load.
