Ordinary construction and cleanout debris is welcome: lumber, drywall, roofing, siding, flooring, cabinets, doors, carpet, furniture and general household junk.
Asbestos is an absolute no here. Pickens County states that asbestos is not accepted in any form, with no exception and no special handling route at its own sites. Easley has housing old enough for asbestos floor tile, pipe wrap and siding to turn up, so if you find something suspect, stop work on that area and call your account manager.
Burnt material is refused as well, at both the county landfill and the county recycling stations.
Hazardous material stays out: pesticides, brake fluid, automotive fluids, paints, solvents, fuel, fertilizer and chemicals of any kind. The city's own cart rules bar the same list, along with medical waste, ammunition and anything holding live coals.
Electronics, tires and batteries are handled separately under state rules and should not go into a mixed load.
Yard debris is kept apart from household waste in Easley, and large loads of brush go to the landfill rather than into a container of mixed material.
