West Chester, Pennsylvania is a historic borough located about 29 miles west of Philadelphia. This locality of nearly 20,000 inhabitants has been an important part of the region since its initial settlement in 1704. It was incorporated as a borough in 1799 and served as the county seat for Chester County until 1881 when it lost that title to Media.
