Areas We Service
Prime Dumpster handles dumpster rental in Kentucky across 22 Kentucky cities, from Covington and Ashland down to Paducah and Bowling Green. Homeowners call us for garage clean-outs, shingle tear-offs and basement remodels. Construction contractors, facility managers and federal crews use our containers on bigger sites.
Your total comes down to a handful of local details. The container size, the kind of debris, any street permit and the landfill closest to your job all move the number.
The sections below cover Kentucky price ranges, permit rules, what landfills refuse and where your debris ends up.

The prices below reflect general ranges for a standard five-day rental period. Your account manager will confirm tonnage, overage rates, and other specifics before you book.
| Size | Average Price Range | Approximate Dimensions | Common Price Factors |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10-Yard Dumpster | $399–$499 | 12' L × 8' W × 3.5' H | Debris weight; heavy materials like concrete reach limits quickly |
| 15-Yard Dumpster | $449–$569 | 16' L × 7.5' W × 4–5' H | Debris mix; combined light and heavy materials affect disposal fees |
| 20-Yard Dumpster | $499–$649 | 22' L × 7.5' W × 4.5' H | Landfill distance; out-of-county loads may carry higher tipping fees |
| 30-Yard Dumpster | $599–$799 | 22' L × 8' W × 6' H | Debris volume; longer rental periods may apply for larger projects |
| 40-Yard Dumpster | $699–$899 | 22–24' L × 8' W × 8' H | Project scope; commercial and demolition loads vary widely by material |
A rental price bundles three services. We bring the container to your site, leave it with you for the rental period and haul it off once it's full. From there, a few project details push the quote up or down.
The main ones are the container size, the debris you plan to load, the number of days you need it and the job location. Brick, block and wet lumber weigh far more than they look. A longer stay also raises the cost.
Location counts because landfills and transfer stations in Kentucky set their own tipping fees, and your quote carries that cost. In this state, two things change the gate price most. One is whether the load comes from a household or a business. The other is whether it started inside the county.
Two examples of how county disposal differs in practice:
The takeaway is simple. In Henderson, a business can pay nearly twice what a homeowner pays for the same debris, and crossing a county line adds more. A mixed load there may also need to be split between two dumping areas at the gate.
Rates change from year to year, so check the county's official page first. Your account manager can identify the site that will take your debris and explain each part of your final quote.
Keeping the container on your own driveway or inside a private lot generally means no permit. Once it goes onto a public street or into a traffic lane, the road owner has to sign off. Sort that out before delivery day, not after the container lands.
Kentucky has no statewide dumpster permit, so the office depends on who owns the road:
Each Kentucky city handles this in its own way, and some ask for a traffic control plan. Your account manager can work out which office covers your street and get you the contact before the drop-off is scheduled.
The bulk of normal remodeling and clean-out debris is accepted without trouble. The real limits depend on each landfill's permit, and those permits follow rules set by the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet through its Division of Waste Management.
State rules let a contained landfill bury only the waste listed in its approved permit. Regulated hazardous waste and free liquids are not allowed. Solid waste carrying PCBs above a trace level can't be placed on the land either, which is a concern with old light ballasts and some caulk.
As everywhere in the country, standard landfills also refuse hazardous waste, free liquids and friable asbestos. Asbestos that crumbles must go to a site with a special permit.
Local sites tighten these rules. Hardin County's landfill turns away tires, batteries, antifreeze, motor oil, paint and other free-flowing liquids, and refrigerators need the Freon removed and stamped. Henderson's landfill won't take tires, batteries, oil, paint, chemicals, air conditioners or refrigerators.
Tires need their own plan. The Division of Waste Management runs free tire collection events that rotate through each county every three years.
Planning to toss old electronics, tires, appliances or anything else you're unsure about? Ask your account manager where each item should go before you start filling the container.
Kentucky's disposal network mixes county landfills, city transfer stations and privately run sites. Which one serves your job depends on the county and on what you're throwing away.
The Pearl Hollow Landfill sits at 1620 Audubon Trace in Elizabethtown and serves Hardin County. It's open Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus one Saturday a month. Every vehicle is weighed in and out, and all loads must be tarped.
The City of Henderson runs a solid waste transfer station and a separate CD&D landfill. The landfill takes all types of non-hazardous construction material, and rates are prorated on every 400 lbs.
The Division of Waste Management permits these facilities and tracks what each one may accept. Once you book, your account manager lines up the right facility for your address and tells you about any material limits there.

Expect about $399–$499 for a 10-yard dumpster and $699–$899 for a 40-yard, based on a standard five-day rental in Kentucky. The container size, the debris type and the county landfill that accepts the load all affect your final price. Your account manager confirms the tonnage allowance and overage rates before booking.
Not from the state. Private driveways and lots usually need no permit. A dumpster on a public street does, from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet on a state highway or from the city on a local street, like Lexington's free lane blockage permit. Your account manager can track down the right office.
Hazardous waste, free liquids, friable asbestos, and waste containing PCBs are kept out of Kentucky landfills. Many local sites also refuse tires, batteries, motor oil, paint and refrigerators with Freon. Pull these items out before pickup so the landfill accepts your load.
Every landfill and transfer station sets its own rates. Hardin County charges commercial waste more than household waste. Henderson charges county businesses more than residents for construction debris, and out-of-county loads pay the most. The same load can cost very different amounts a few counties apart.
Leave them out. Landfills in Hardin County and Henderson both refuse tires. The Division of Waste Management holds free tire collection events in each county every three years, and your account manager can suggest another place to take them before your container is loaded.
Yes. Kentucky's Environmental Remediation Fee applies to each ton of waste landfilled in the state. Landfill operators pay it every quarter, so it's usually already built into the tipping fee. Your account manager can explain how disposal charges affect the price of your load.
