Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Elizabeth
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Elizabeth, New Jersey, and the industrial waterfront and neighborhoods around it. Units serve warehouse and port construction near the Elizabeth marine terminal, apartment and school builds in Elmora and Bayway, street and utility work along North Avenue, and the events that fill Mattano Park and Veterans Memorial Waterfront Park, from a summer festival to a food truck day.
Price here comes down to the unit you pick, how many you need, how long you keep them, and how often a truck services them. Below are our ranges, the crew counts that apply in New Jersey, why a unit in an Elizabeth street is a much bigger project than you expect, and how to time a delivery.
Those ranges assume a three-day rental, which covers how most Elizabeth weekend orders run. A Friday drop, a Saturday event, and a Monday pickup sit inside the same per-unit number.
Job sites are quoted in four-week blocks with a weekly service stop included, and the weekly figure per unit comes down once several units share one address. That matters on the big port and warehouse jobs, where a single order can run for a year.
City density is the local cost driver. Elizabeth streets are narrow, parking is tight, and many sites are hemmed in by fence lines and loading docks. A driver who can pull alongside the unit works fast. A driver who has to hand-carry hose 60 feet through a gate does not, and that shows up in the service rate.
The last factor is where the unit stands. Behind your own property line the cost is the unit plus the service, full stop. Out in the public right of way, Elizabeth treats the placement as an encroachment, which is a far heavier process than a simple permit. Your account manager will steer you to the cheaper route.

Our porta potty calculator gives you a starting figure in a minute. Because the City sets no event ratio, your account manager builds the count from crowd size, hours, food, and alcohol.
Choose around the people using it. Our whole lineup sits on the porta potty options page.
Start with the Standard Porta Potty: a single stall holding a seat, urinal, paper, and sanitizer, which suits framing crews, paving work, and small gatherings.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is wider, enters flat with no step, carries grab bars, and leaves turning room for a wheelchair. Put one in every cluster at a public event.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty gives you a real flush and better venting, which guests notice at a church festival or a ticketed event.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts a basin, soap, and mirror inside the stall, so a reception line keeps moving.
The Solar Porta Potty powers its light and fan from the roof panel, which suits a waterfront lot, a rail siding, or an evening event with no power drop.
The Handwashing Station stands on its own and holds clean water, soap, and paper towels. One belongs next to any food vendor and one on any site with a crew on it.
The Restroom Trailer gives you multiple stalls behind one door, with plumbed water and climate control, and it is what we put on weddings, corporate days, and long port and warehouse jobs.
Tell your account manager the crowd or the crew and they will build the mix for you.
On private property, a yard, a fenced site, a lot you control, the City asks nothing for the unit itself. Public ground is where Elizabeth is stricter than most cities its size.
A unit in the street is an encroachment, not a simple permit. The City's encroachment requirements for work within the public right of way call for a site plan drawn to scale by a New Jersey licensed professional engineer, a certificate of insurance naming the City as additional insured, and a surety bond of $1,500 per square yard of disturbance. Then the City Council has to pass an ordinance allowing the encroachment, on a recommendation from the Department of Public Works at 50 Winfield Scott Plaza. For a unit that stands for a weekend or a month, that route is not realistic, so plan a private-property spot from the start.
City facilities and parks. The Parks and Recreation office handles facility permits for meeting rooms, gyms, and fields on 908-820-4220. If your event brings food trucks, vendors, or a DJ, you also have to apply to Central Licensing for a special event permit on top of the facility permit. One rule catches people out: the City says personal events such as birthday parties, baby showers, engagement parties, and graduation parties are not eligible for a permit at all. Those gatherings need private land.
Insurance is not optional. Any event with strenuous physical activity, or with a bouncy house, inflatable obstacle course, or skating rink, has to show a certificate of liability insurance listing the City as the certificate holder.
Food vendors. Each vendor files a temporary event license with the Health Department, and the City will deny it if it arrives fewer than 10 days before the event. The posted fee is $75.00 for the first two event days plus $50.00 for each additional day, payable by cash, check, or money order only. Event coordinators file their own paperwork at least 15 days ahead, with an initial vendor list 20 days out and a final list 15 days out.
Three offices, three timelines. Your account manager can tell you which of them your plan actually touches, and who to ask.
In a city this tight, placement is most of the job. Settle the spot before you settle the count.
Look for level, firm ground a truck can reach without blocking a travel lane. Elizabeth has a lot of older alleys, loading aprons, and fenced yards where a service vehicle cannot turn around, so check the approach and measure the gate before you commit. Leave the driver a straight pull with no low wires overhead.
Keep units at least 15 feet from food service and well back from the Elizabeth River, the Arthur Kill, and every storm inlet. That is not just good practice here: the City's own event paperwork states plainly that wastewater may not be dumped onto the ground or into a storm drain. On a job site, place units within about 200 feet of the crew. At an event, split them into two or three clusters rather than one row, and give each cluster an accessible unit.
Weather pulls both ways. July humidity on a paved lot is a strong argument for a second service visit, and a January site needs winterized units and a cleared approach.
Every standard rental carries one service visit a week, when the crew empties the tank, scrubs the bowl and floor, wipes down the stall, and refills paper and sanitizer. New Jersey treats what comes out of the unit as a registered waste type, and the state requires the trucks and containers that carry it to be registered with state decals before they operate. Your account manager will set your service days and confirm the handling before the first delivery.

Most Elizabeth orders are on site within 24 to 48 hours. Give us three to five days and we can arrange the precise mix your job calls for, accessible stalls included. For a summer festival weekend, book several weeks out, because the whole Union County corridor competes for the same dates.
Five things make an Elizabeth delivery go smoothly:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery across Elizabeth and the Union County and waterfront communities around it, including Roselle, Linden, Rahway, Hillside, Carteret, Westfield, Bayonne, and Newark. Whether your site is a warehouse build near the port, a school project in Elmora, or a street festival downtown, we build the delivery, service, and pickup around your dates.
Expect $199–$349 on a standard unit and $200–$300 on an accessible one. The deluxe flushing and sink models sit at $300–$400, solar at $500–$600, a handwashing station at $150–$250, and a trailer from $1,500. How many units, how long, how often they are serviced, and how easily a truck reaches the spot decide the number your account manager quotes.
Begin at one unit for every 50 guests across roughly four hours, then lift that by 15 to 20 percent once alcohol is poured. Elizabeth makes you declare restrooms on the event paperwork but names no number, so the planning figure is your base. Your account manager sizes it with you.
New Jersey's state safety plan covers public employees only, so private sites follow the federal table: 1 facility for a crew of 20 or fewer, then 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers, and 1 of each per 50 above 200. Add a handwashing station. Your account manager will match it to your crew.
Weekly, under a standard rental. The crew empties the tank, scrubs the bowl and floor, wipes the stall down, and refills paper and sanitizer. Humid summers on a paved lot and busy event weekends usually earn a second stop, and state rules govern how the waste is carried away. Your account manager fixes the schedule.
No. On your own yard or fenced site Elizabeth asks nothing for the unit. Put it in a street or on a sidewalk and the City treats it as an encroachment needing an engineer's site plan, a bond, and a Council ordinance. Your account manager can confirm which side of the property line your spot sits on.
The standard model is a narrow single stall holding a seat, urinal, paper, and sanitizer. The accessible one is noticeably wider, with a level doorway, grab bars inside, and clear floor space for a wheelchair to turn. At a public event federal rules expect one of them in each cluster, though crew-only units on a job site are left out.
Three days is the booking every range above is built around, so a weekend is already priced in. Allow $199–$349 for a standard stall, $300–$400 for a deluxe flushing one, and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. Your account manager pins down the drop window, the service stop, and the pickup.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. One call is usually enough to settle the unit mix, the service days, and the price.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
