in Greenville
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Greenville, South Carolina, and the Upstate communities around it. Apartment and office construction along Woodruff Road, warehouse and plant work off I-85, Falls Park and Main Street events, road races on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and tailgate weekends all keep portable toilets moving through the year here.
Your price depends on the unit type, the number of units, how long you keep them, and how often a truck services them. Below you'll find local price ranges, how to size your order, which City permit fits your event, and what to expect on delivery.
Those ranges reflect a standard three-day rental, the way a Greenville weekend event is normally quoted. A Saturday race and a Friday-to-Sunday festival usually land at a similar figure.
Rental length is the biggest single factor. A long build along the Woodruff Road corridor is quoted in monthly cycles with a set service plan, and the daily cost comes in well below an event rate.
Downtown logistics add to it. Main Street and the Falls Park area are tight for a pump truck, and an early-morning service window is often the only one that works. Tell your account manager if the drop is downtown and the schedule will be built around it.
Summer heat is the last piece. Upstate crews working through July and August often need a second weekly visit, and events with food service need handwashing stations beside the booths.

Start with our porta potty calculator and let your account manager adjust for your hours, your crowd, and the weather.
Choose by who uses the unit and how long the day runs. All the options are on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is the everyday unit for job sites, yard work, and casual gatherings, with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty adds a wide door, a flat entry, grab bars, and turning room for a wheelchair. Include one in every group at a public event.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty gives guests a flush and a cleaner feel, which matters at weddings and company events.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts a sink, soap, and a mirror inside the unit. Families and food-focused events get the most from it.
The Solar Porta Potty lights and ventilates itself from a solar panel, so it suits trail events and remote sites with no power.
The Handwashing Station carries clean water, soap, and towels. Put one by every food vendor and job site break area.
The Restroom Trailer brings several stalls, running water, and air conditioning, which is worth the money for a summer wedding here.
Not sure what fits? Give your account manager the headcount and the hours and they'll build the order.
A unit on your own property, serving your own project, generally needs no City permit. Here is what applies when it does not.
Private property: keep the unit on your lot, off the sidewalk, and clear of drainage. Nothing published by the City sets a screening rule or a time limit for a unit on private land.
Streets and sidewalks: the City issues general encroachment permits for work within the public right of way, covering construction projects, utility connections, and maintenance activity. Get that sorted before anything is set on City pavement.
Larger events: Greenville sorts events by letter. Permit A covers festivals and major events with outdoor entertainment, food and beverage sales, alcohol service, or revenue generation. It is for 200 people or more and needs a 501(c)(3). File 90 days ahead if road closures are involved, or 60 days ahead if not. The processing fee is $60 for a single day and $200 for two or more days, and the City requires $1,000,000 general liability and $2,000,000 aggregate insurance, plus $1,000,000 liquor liability if alcohol is served.
Smaller events: Permit C covers small single-day events up to 200 people with no road closures. File 30 days ahead if alcohol is served, or 15 days ahead if not, with a $25 processing fee. Races, walks, and parades use Permit B instead.
What this means for your order. Those deadlines are the real reason to book units early. A Permit A event with road closures is planning three months out, so the restroom plan should be settled at the same time as the application rather than in the last week.
If you are not sure which letter fits your event, your account manager can help you work it out and point you to the right City contact.
Placement decides how the whole rental goes, especially downtown.
Set units on firm, level ground with a clear approach for a service truck. Downtown blocks and the park areas along the Reedy River have tight turns and limited curb space, so pick the drop spot with a truck in mind. On a job site, allow for red clay that turns slick after a storm.
Keep units well away from food service, drinking water, and any storm inlet draining to the Reedy. On a construction site, place them within a short walk of the work so your crew is not giving up time in the heat.
Weekly service is the baseline. The driver pumps the tank, cleans the interior, and restocks paper and sanitizer. Summer crews and busy event weekends generally need a second visit, which your account manager can plan from the start.
South Carolina licenses the hauling side. Cleaning a self-contained toilet is defined in state rules as removing the septage and transporting it to an approved disposal location, and the state issues a license to clean self-contained toilets and other sewage holding systems, with its own requirements for vehicles, equipment, practices, and records.
From there the waste reaches a treatment plant. Renewable Water Resources is the Upstate's regional wastewater utility, cleaning more than 41 million gallons a day and running a pretreatment program over everything that enters its system. Your account manager can confirm your service schedule and where your waste is taken.

Most Greenville orders can be on site within 24 to 48 hours. Three to five days of notice lets us match the unit type to the job and plan the route. Event weekends are a different clock: with City deadlines running 15 to 90 days out depending on the permit, your units should be reserved when you file.
These five steps keep a delivery on schedule:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery throughout Greenville and the surrounding Upstate communities, including Mauldin, Simpsonville, Greer, Taylors, Travelers Rest, Berea, Wade Hampton, Fountain Inn, Easley, and Piedmont. Whether your site is a downtown block party, a job along the interstate, or a trailhead event, we plan delivery, servicing, and pickup around your dates.
A standard unit in Greenville averages $199–$349, and an accessible unit averages $200–$300. Deluxe flushing and sink units average $300–$400, and restroom trailers start at $1,500. Your total depends on the number of units, how long you keep them, and the service schedule. Your account manager confirms it in your free quote.
Plan 1 unit per 50 guests for about four hours, and add 15 to 20 percent more when alcohol is served. South Carolina publishes no event ratio of its own, so that planning number is the one to use. Add a handwashing station near food and at least one accessible unit at any public event.
South Carolina runs its own workplace safety plan, but it adopted the federal sanitation rules unchanged. So a crew of 20 or fewer needs one facility, and above that it is one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers, and one per 50 past 200. Your account manager can size the order to your crew.
Weekly service is standard. The driver pumps the tank, cleans and sanitizes the interior, and restocks paper and hand sanitizer. Upstate summers and large crews often justify a second visit each week. Your account manager can set the rhythm around your busiest days.
Usually not. A unit on your own Greenville lot for your own project needs no City permit. Keep it off the sidewalk and out of the street. Placing anything in the public right of way is different and needs a City encroachment permit, and an event on public property needs the matching event permit.
A standard unit is sized for one person stepping in and out. An accessible unit is wider, has a flat entry with no step up, adds grab bars, and leaves turning room for a wheelchair. Public events need at least one in each group of units. Units used only by a construction crew are exempt from that rule.
A standard unit averages $199–$349, and weekend rentals are quoted on a three-day basis. A Saturday-only event usually costs close to what the full weekend costs. Flushing units, sink units, and restroom trailers run higher. Your account manager will confirm your weekend total and the delivery window.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We'll size the order, set a service plan that holds up through an Upstate summer, and give you a clear price on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
