Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in High Point
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals throughout High Point, North Carolina, and the Piedmont Triad communities next to it. The units cover furniture and warehouse construction around the showroom district, new housing on the city's growing edges, roofing and siding crews, water and sewer work, and outdoor events of every size, from a market week showroom party to a block party on a residential street to a footrace through the greenways.
Your cost follows the unit you pick, the number you need, the length of the rental, and how often a truck comes back. Below you will find our ranges, the crew numbers that apply on a North Carolina job site, what the City expects on an event map, and how soon we can be on site.
Each range above is priced on a three-day rental, which fits the way most High Point weekend bookings are written. A Saturday-only order and a Friday to Sunday order usually land on the same number.
Site work is quoted differently, in four-week blocks with weekly service built in, and the weekly rate softens once the first block is done.
High Point has a scheduling quirk that affects availability more than price. The City restricts event dates for a week either side of the Spring and Fall High Point Markets and on recognized City holidays, and demand spikes around market weeks. Units get scarce then even though the rate card does not change.
Access and the Carolina summer do the rest. A unit behind a locked gate or on soft ground after a storm adds driver time, and humid July weeks push plenty of customers to twice-weekly service.

Request a Quote NowNorth Carolina was worth checking carefully, because the state runs its own workplace safety division covering private employers. It adopts every federal standard apart from a short named list, and the only sanitation standard on that list is an agricultural one. So a High Point building site works to the federal construction table.
Our porta potty calculator is a good starting point, and your account manager will then weigh the crew size, the attendance, and the service schedule you want.
Start from the people who will use it and the number of days. The whole range is on the porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is what most Triad sites run on: one private stall holding a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty gives a wheelchair user a level entry, extra width, grab bars, and turning space. Any event open to the public should carry one.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty adds a flushing bowl and much better odor control, which is why it dominates market week and wedding bookings here.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink carries a sink, soap, and a mirror inside the stall, so guests wash up without leaving the unit.
The Solar Porta Potty runs its light and fan from a roof panel, which answers a graded lot with no power and an evening event.
The Handwashing Station is a separate sink carrying clean water, soap, and towels. Set one next to anywhere food is handled and one on a site where people eat on the job.
The Restroom Trailer tows in with several private stalls, running water, and climate control. Showroom events, weddings, and long-running sites justify it.
Undecided? Give your account manager the headcount and the dates and they will put the mix together.
On private ground, no. High Point issues no permit for a portable toilet standing on your own lot, a driveway, or a fenced job site. Public ground and organized events are where the City gets involved.
Private property and job sites: keep the unit inside the property line and off the public sidewalk. A project already holding a building permit treats the unit as part of the site setup.
Streets, alleys and sidewalks, and the written permission that unlocks them: the City's street rules say no person may place boxes, casks, crates, barrels, or other obstructions in any street or alley or upon any sidewalk. The route through that rule is specific and useful. Building materials, earth, or any other obstruction of like character may be allowed by permission of the city manager in writing, under whatever restrictions the city manager imposes. The code separately makes it unlawful to impede or obstruct free pedestrian movement on any sidewalk. So a short-term placement in the road needs that written permission in hand first.
For something standing longer, there is a formal route: the City's right-of-way encroachment process approves encroachments into the public right of way, and it matters which way the proposal goes. An underground encroachment can be approved by the Technical Review Committee, while an above-ground encroachment goes to the next available City Council meeting, with an encroachment agreement then recorded with the County Register of Deeds. Two further permits may apply: a right-of-way disturbance permit from Engineering Services for any disturbance of streets, curb and gutter, or sidewalk, and a lane closure permit from the Transportation Department for any lane or sidewalk closure. Applications go to the Development Services Center or through the City's online portal.
Events, and the item that touches your order directly: a High Point special event permit is required for bicycle races, block parties, festivals, footraces, parades, and picketing, and a complete application is due at least 90 days before the event. Among the submittal requirements is a map of the event showing the location of requested street closures, vendors, port-a-johns, stage and entertainment areas, and picket routes. In other words the City wants to see where your units will stand, which means the order has to be settled before the application goes in.
The rest of the event conditions worth budgeting for: a $50 permit fee with other costs possible, commercial general liability cover of a million dollars per occurrence and two million in aggregate with the City as additional insured, and a certified crowd manager for every 250 people at any event over 1,000 attendees, with free training through the state fire marshal's office. A block party may cover no more than one block and no more than 500 attendees at a time, needs signatures from the property owners affected by the closure, and can be refused outright if an owner with frontage objects. Events may not be advertised until the permit is approved, and barricades arrive the Thursday before and leave the Monday after at the applicant's responsibility.
What the City does not set: a restroom number. High Point requires the units on the map but publishes no ratio, so the count is yours. Your account manager will build one you can defend on the application.
Because the City wants your units marked on a map, placement is worth deciding early rather than on delivery day.
Pick firm, level ground. A unit on a slope leans, and a unit on soft fill after a Piedmont thunderstorm can settle, so a mat or a sheet of plywood under the feet is worth the trouble.
The driver needs room to work. Clear width and overhead space are what it takes to set and lift a unit, so keep the approach open and pass on any gate code ahead of the delivery.
Hold units 15 feet or more from anywhere food is served, and keep them clear of storm inlets and creeks. Crews will use units within roughly 200 feet of where they are working. At an event, two or three smaller groups beat one long row, and each group should include an accessible model.
Service is weekly as a matter of course and more often where you need it, with the tank emptied, the interior washed and paper and sanitizer replaced on every call. Busy sites, humid weeks, and food events all run better on two visits. The waste leaves through the regulated wastewater system rather than going anywhere on your site; the City treats its own wastewater at the Eastside plant, a 26 million gallon per day nutrient removal facility discharging to the Randleman Reservoir, and at a Westside plant, as set out on the City's wastewater pages. Your account manager will confirm your schedule and the disposal arrangement before the first drop.

Most High Point orders can be on site within 24 to 48 hours. With three to five days of notice the specific units you asked for can be lined up. For a market week, a festival, or a wedding, allow several weeks, because the whole Triad is chasing the same dates.
These five habits keep a delivery smooth:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery across High Point and the surrounding Guilford, Forsyth, Davidson and Rockingham County communities, including Kernersville, Greensboro, Thomasville, Stokesdale, Winston-Salem, Clemmons, Jamestown, Archdale and Trinity. Whether your project sits in the showroom district, out along Business 85, or on a new plat toward Oak Hollow, we shape the delivery, service, and collection around your dates.
A standard unit comes in at $199–$349 and an accessible one at $200–$300. Flushing and sink models sit in the $300–$400 range, solar units in the $500–$600 range, and a restroom trailer opens at $1,500. What really moves the total is the unit count, the number of days, and the service visits.
Our planning figure is one unit for every 50 attendees across a four-hour window, with 15 to 20 percent more once drinks are served. Put a sink wherever food is handled and an accessible unit in each group. High Point publishes no ratio, so your account manager will help you choose.
North Carolina adopts the federal standard here. Up to 20 workers, one toilet facility is enough; from 21 workers it is a toilet seat and a urinal per 40, and from 201 workers one of each per 50. A short field job still needs at least one facility available.
Weekly is the baseline and we can increase it. Each call empties the tank, washes out the interior, and replaces paper and sanitizer. Busy sites, humid Piedmont summers, and food events all do better on two visits a week. Your account manager sets the frequency with you.
No. High Point issues no permit for a portable toilet on private ground, including a driveway or a fenced job site. Keep it inside the property line and clear of the sidewalk. A unit in a street, an alley, or on a sidewalk needs written permission from the city manager first.
A standard unit is a single narrow stall with a toilet, a urinal, and sanitizer. The accessible one is broader, has a level entry rather than a step, and adds grab bars with space for a wheelchair to turn. Events open to the public should carry one in each group.
Three days is the basis of every range, so a weekend is already the normal case. A standard unit sits at $199–$349, a deluxe flushing unit at $300–$400, and a handwashing station at $150–$250. Your account manager settles the delivery and collection times with you.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will set the unit count your event map needs, fix the service visits, and quote you on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
