Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Independence
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Independence, Missouri, one of the largest cities in the state and the historic anchor of the eastern Kansas City metro. Construction demand runs on street and sewer rebuilds in the older districts, commercial work along 40 Highway and Noland Road, and residential additions through the postwar neighborhoods, while the event side turns on the Square, the historic sites, the sports complexes and a long summer festival season.
What you pay comes down to the model, the stall count, the booking length and the service frequency. Below are the ranges, the two counts an Independence crew or crowd works from, the street approval the city requires, and something unusual about where the waste from your order can legally go.
The ranges rest on a three day rental. An Independence booking for one Saturday therefore tends to match the price of a full weekend, because the truck makes a delivery run and a collection run regardless.
Service timing is the Independence cost driver that catches people out, and the reason is below: the city controls when hauled waste may be discharged at its own plant. That means the service window on an Independence order is not purely a routing decision, so a settled schedule is worth real money here.
Rental length moves the next share. A one weekend festival booking and a two year street reconstruction price on different footings, and once an Independence job passes its first month the weekly figure eases. A humid Missouri August often justifies a second service visit each week.
Access decides the rest. Firm ground near a drive is quick to set and quick to empty, while a stall in a narrow older alley, behind a gate, or at the back of a deep lot costs the driver time. Your account manager will work through each of those before you book.

Request a Quote NowIndependence has one written answer and one planning figure. Crews are covered federally. Gatherings have no published ratio in the city.
Independence publishes no guest to restroom ratio of its own, and the city sits across the Jackson and Clay county line without a county event restroom table on either side, so the planning figure above is where an organizer here starts. Our porta potty calculator turns a headcount and a duration into a number, and your account manager will test it against your venue.
Decide who uses the stall and for how many weeks, and the model follows. The full lineup is on the porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty holds a toilet, urinal, paper holder and sanitizer in one compact stall, and its narrow footprint suits an older Independence street frontage.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is broader, level at the doorway, and brings grab bars with wheelchair turning room. Public Independence events need one in each group.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty flushes and keeps odor down, which guests notice at a Square event in high summer.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink carries a sink, soap and mirror inside the stall, and it suits a historic venue reception or a backyard party.
The Solar Porta Potty powers its light and fan from a roof panel, which helps on trail and park work and at evening events with no power drop.
The Handwashing Station is a freestanding sink with clean water, soap and towels, and food rows and site entrances are where Independence customers put it.
The Restroom Trailer tows in with separate stalls, plumbing and climate control, and larger Independence functions and long sites justify it.
Still deciding? Send your account manager the crew count or the guest list and the order comes together.
On ground you control, or inside a fenced Independence site, no permit covers the unit itself. Two things set Independence apart: a single named official controls street obstructions, and the city runs its own rules about where this waste can be taken.
The street answer is one office. The city's municipal services rules make it unlawful for any person to cause, create or maintain any obstruction of any street, sidewalk or alley unless specifically authorized to do so by the Director of Municipal Services. The scope word is any obstruction, and the applicant class is open, so a portable restroom on an Independence street or sidewalk falls inside it and the route is that authorization. The same article requires red warning devices around building materials, soil, debris or other objects left where they may obstruct public passage, and it separately bars erecting, placing or maintaining any building or structure regulated by the building code on a right of way or easement without a license.
The unusual part is the disposal side, and Independence names portable toilets. The city's environmental control chapter defines holding tank waste as any domestic or nondomestic waste from holding tanks such as vessels, chemical toilets, campers, trailers, septic tanks and vacuum pump tank trucks that are not piped to the public treatment works. The city may then provide treatment and disposal for hauled wastes, including septic tank sludge and the contents of cesspools and privy vaults, and the Director decides whether a given waste is compatible with plant operations and whether it is accepted or refused at all.
Three consequences follow, and they are real planning points. The Director has authority to determine the location, method and allowable times for discharging hauled waste, and discharging anywhere other than a designated point is a violation. The Director may also require haulers and generators of hauled waste to obtain wastewater discharge permits, which is a duty that can reach the customer and not only the service company. And the city may require a compatibility study of a generator asking for its waste to be treated. None of that stops an ordinary restroom order, but it does mean the service window and the destination are set by the city rather than by convenience.
Independence also sits in two counties. The city straddles the Jackson and Clay county line, which the Census records as two separate entries for the same place, so anything county administered can turn on which side your site is on.
Where the waste goes. Missouri treats portable restroom contents as hauled sewage and places the duty on the owner or operator to route it to a plant able to receive it or to a company in the pumping and disposal business. In Independence that plant has its own acceptance conditions, as above. Your account manager can pin down the disposal arrangements for an Independence order.
Unsure whether your spot counts as an obstruction? Your account manager can take it to the city before delivery.
In a city this old and this large, placement is about the approach as much as the pad.
Firm, level ground comes first. Independence has heavy clay and a lot of long established lots that drain slowly, so the low corner stays soft for days after a storm. Plywood or a small stone pad near the drive handles it.
Keep units at least 15 feet from food service and well clear of storm inlets and the creeks that cut through the city. On a job site, place them near the crew and out of the equipment path. At an event, break the order into clusters rather than one long row, and give accessible stalls level footing and a clear approach.
Watch the alleys and the overhead. The older districts have narrow service alleys and mature trees, and a stall a truck cannot reach is a stall that does not get emptied.
Weekly service is the baseline. Big crews, a multi day Square event or a humid stretch usually justify a second stop. An Independence service call empties the tank, scrubs the bowl and floor, wipes the surfaces and restocks paper and sanitizer.
Because the city controls allowable discharge times at its own plant, the servicing rhythm on an Independence order is worth fixing early. Your account manager will set it, and settle the access, before the first delivery.

Most Independence orders can be on site within 24 to 48 hours, and three to five days lets the exact mix be loaded. For a festival weekend, a tournament or a holiday, allow several weeks, because the eastern metro books those dates together.
Five habits that keep an Independence delivery clean:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty deliveries across Independence and the eastern Kansas City metro communities around it, including Blue Springs, Raytown, Sugar Creek, Lee's Summit, Liberty, Gladstone, Grandview, Grain Valley and Buckner. Whether your site sits near the Square, out along 40 Highway, or up toward the Missouri River bottoms, the delivery and service are arranged around your dates.
A standard stall is $199–$349 and an accessible unit $200–$300. Flushing and sink models run $300–$400, solar $500–$600, and a trailer starts at $1,500. Quantity, time on site and visit frequency do the rest. Your account manager confirms the firm figure in your free quote.
Begin with one unit per 50 guests across four hours, adding 15 to 20 percent where alcohol is served. A hundred Independence guests is two or three stalls. Independence publishes no ratio of its own, so your account manager will size it against your venue and crowd.
Independence crews work from the federal table, since Missouri runs no state plan of its own. One toilet facility covers an Independence crew of twenty or fewer. Above twenty workers the table wants a toilet seat and a urinal for each forty, moving to each fifty past two hundred. A washing facility is expected wherever an Independence crew is working.
Weekly handles most Independence rentals. A visit empties the tank, scrubs the bowl and floor, wipes surfaces and restocks paper and sanitizer. Heavy use, a multi day event or a humid week generally calls for two. Your account manager sets the rhythm around the city's discharge windows.
On ground you control or inside a closed site, no. Once the unit obstructs an Independence street, sidewalk or alley, the city requires authorization from the Director of Municipal Services. Your account manager can confirm which description fits your location.
A standard unit is a single slim stall with a toilet, urinal and sanitizer. An accessible stall is wider, level at the door, and brings grab bars plus wheelchair turning space. An Independence event open to the public needs one. A fenced Independence crew site turns on who is on it.
Since each range assumes three days, an Independence weekend is the base case rather than a premium. Standard stalls are $199–$349, flushing units $300–$400 and handwashing stations $150–$250 measured that way. Your account manager will agree the drop, the service and the collection.
Tell us what your Independence event or project involves, and your zip code too. Flag your preferred service days early, since the city sets when hauled waste can be taken in.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the Independence detail, from the stall count and the discharge friendly service window to the Municipal Services contact and the delivery timing, so you can stay on the project.
