Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Barnstable
At Prime Dumpster, we arrange porta potty rentals across Barnstable, Massachusetts, the Cape Cod town that takes in Hyannis, Centerville, Osterville, Cotuit, Marstons Mills, West Barnstable and Barnstable Village. Construction here runs from cottage renovations and new homes to marina, hotel and Main Street storefront work in Hyannis. Events are just as important, with summer weddings, beach and harbor festivals, road races, clambakes and town celebrations crowding the calendar from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Your price depends on the model, the unit count, how long the units stay and how often they are serviced. On Cape Cod the calendar matters more than almost anywhere else, because summer demand and summer traffic arrive together. Below are the ranges, the Massachusetts count rules, and a straight answer about what we can tell you about Town permits.
The month you book is the first thing that moves a Barnstable quote. A July wedding in Osterville competes with every other summer event on the Cape for the same delivery days, while a February renovation in Marstons Mills has the calendar almost to itself. Booking early for summer protects both the price and the model you want.
Traffic is the second factor. Summer congestion on Route 28 and Route 132 stretches a service visit, and units on the far side of the Cape Cod Canal bridges cost more to reach on a Saturday than on a Tuesday. Your account manager plans Barnstable service days around that.
Guest expectations are the third. Many Barnstable events are weddings and private parties where a deluxe flushing model or a restroom trailer fits the setting better than a row of standard units, and that choice shapes the total more than the unit count does.

Our porta potty calculator gives a starting count, and your account manager adjusts it for your busiest Barnstable hour.
On the Cape, the setting often decides the model. Every unit is explained on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty suits a Barnstable renovation crew: one stall, toilet, urinal, paper and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty has a step-free entry, grab bars and turning space. Massachusetts expects it in each group at a public gathering.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty gives wedding guests a flush and a cleaner feel, which fits a tented reception near the water.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts the sink inside the stall, handy where a lawn has no room for a separate washing unit.
The Solar Porta Potty runs on its own power, good for an evening clambake or a beach-side site with no outlet.
The Handwashing Station gives fresh water, soap and towels and belongs near any raw bar or food tent.
The Restroom Trailer offers private rooms with running water and climate control, the usual choice for a large Barnstable wedding.
Your account manager will match the mix to the setting and the guest list.
On private property, a unit is normally just site equipment. On a lawn, driveway or fenced job site, a porta potty is covered by the work you are already doing.
For streets, beaches and Town land, we do not have the Town's wording. The Town of Barnstable's website did not respond to our requests on any of the addresses we tried, and its code is published through a service that asks automated readers not to crawl it. The Town's rules certainly exist. We have not read them, so nothing here says what Barnstable requires for a unit on a public way, a beach lot or a Town park.
How we handle it. Across Massachusetts, a unit on a public way usually needs approval from the public works office, and a gathering on Town land usually needs a separate event approval. Treat Barnstable as likely to work the same way, and expect summer requests to take longer. Before anything goes off private property, your account manager calls Barnstable Town Hall, confirms the office and lead time, and holds the delivery until it is settled.
The accessible-unit rule travels with you. Whether or not a Town permit applies, a gathering open to the public should have accessible units in each group, as the state asks.
Choose firm, level ground that a service truck can reach. Sandy lots near the water can trap a truck, so a gravel drive or a paved edge is the safer spot. Keep units at least 15 feet from food, well back from ponds, marshes and wells, and within about 200 feet of the crew on a work site.
Salt air and wind affect placement too. Units on an open waterfront lawn should face away from the wind and sit where a summer storm will not push them over. At a tented wedding, a spot just outside the tent line keeps guests dry without blocking the caterer.
Most Barnstable job sites are serviced weekly, and busy summer event units twice a week. On a Barnstable visit the tank is emptied, the stall cleaned and the supplies replaced. In Massachusetts the hauler works under a septage permit issued by a local board of health and may only discharge where that permit allows. Your account manager confirms the visit days and the licensed service crew before delivery.

Outside summer, most Barnstable orders are on site within one to three days. From June through August, book two to four weeks ahead for weekend events, and longer for anything on Town land, because both the calendar and the paperwork fill up.
Five tips for a Barnstable booking:
Prime Dumpster serves Barnstable and every village in it, along with mainland communities across the canal, including New Bedford 45 miles west, Bridgewater Town 48 miles northwest, Taunton 50 miles northwest, Weymouth Town 54 miles northwest, Fall River 57 miles west and Brockton 58 miles northwest. Each of those trips crosses one of the two canal bridges, which is why summer timing matters so much for Cape deliveries.
Barnstable pricing starts at $199–$349 for a standard unit and $200–$300 for an accessible one. Deluxe flushing and sink models run $300–$400, solar units $500–$600 and handwashing stations $150–$250, with restroom trailers from $1,500. Summer demand and bridge traffic usually explain a higher Cape quote.
Plan on one unit for every 50 guests over about four hours and add 15 to 20 percent if alcohol is served, which is common at Cape weddings. Massachusetts also asks for accessible units in each group. Your account manager sizes the Barnstable order for your busiest hour.
A private Barnstable site follows the federal table: one facility for 20 or fewer workers, then one toilet seat and one urinal per 40. Town crews use the same numbers under the Massachusetts plan. A closed site used only by workers needs no accessible unit.
Weekly service suits most Barnstable job sites, and summer event units often need two visits a week. Each visit empties the tank, cleans the stall and restocks supplies. The hauler holds a local board of health septage permit, as Massachusetts requires.
On your own Barnstable property, a unit is usually just site equipment with no separate permit. A street, beach lot or Town park is different, and since the Town's rules were not available to us, your account manager checks with Town Hall before any public placement.
A standard unit is one compact stall with a toilet and urinal. An ADA unit is wider, has a level entry, grab bars and space for a wheelchair to turn. Massachusetts writes its accessibility rule around this unit for public gatherings.
A Barnstable weekend usually fits our standard short rental: $199–$349 for a standard unit, $300–$400 for a deluxe flushing model and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. Summer weekends book up early, so your account manager will lock in your dates first.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will check summer availability for your Barnstable date and tell you what Town Hall still needs to confirm for any public spot.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager keeps every Barnstable detail in one place, from the unit mix and service days to the Town contact and the delivery window, so your Cape event or project runs without restroom worries.
