Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty rentals across Crestview, Florida, the Okaloosa County seat sitting inland at the crossing of Interstate 10 and Highway 85, well north of the Gulf beaches. Construction is the engine of demand here: new subdivisions pushing north and east, commercial frontage along the highway, school and civic work, and the contractor traffic that follows the military installations south of town. Event demand runs through the city parks, the fairgrounds dates, the downtown street events and the food vendor pitches the city licenses by business tax receipt.
Crestview is the city in this batch that writes portable toilets into a vendor application rather than into an event ratio, and its own code also makes an enclosed portable unit the lawful alternative in a criminal ordinance. The sections below cover both, give the two Florida unit count tables, and set out a county definition that reads two different ways in two different chapters.
The mix of unit types does most of the work on a Crestview quote. A subdivision build wants plain cabins and a washing station. A vendor pitch that must show its facilities on a reviewed site plan often wants a flushing unit instead. A wedding at a park wants something different again.
How long the units stay is the second lever. One Saturday at a park pays for a delivery and a collection inside a day. A year long build spreads the same two trips across the job, so the weekly figure falls steeply.
Service frequency is the third, and in Florida it changes the required count rather than only the upkeep. Each state table carries an assumed interval, and emptying more often than that divides the number of units by two or by three. On a Crestview crew in the twenties that can be the difference between three units and one.
Access is last. North and east of town the ground is sand and clay that moves after a summer storm, and new streets can be unpaved for months. Tell us where a loaded service truck can stop and how firm the ground is.

Request a Quote NowCrestview publishes no attendance ratio, so Florida's tables set both numbers.
A job site. Two sets of rules apply at once and the tighter one wins. Federal worker sanitation standards cover private sector construction in Florida and give one facility for 20 workers or fewer, one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers above 20, and one per 50 once the crew passes 200. Florida's own building site table is stricter under 50 workers:
A weekly call underpins the figures. Two calls halve them, three or more take them to a third, rounding up. Florida requires restrooms at commercial and residential building sites for the whole of construction whenever workers are present, which on a Crestview subdivision means from clearing through to the last certificate.
An event. The state special event table reads by attendance and hours and assumes one service visit a day. The hour column is part of the figure, so give both numbers together. The four hour column gives two units at 250 attendees, four at 500, seven at 1,000, thirteen at 2,000, thirty two at 5,000 and sixty three at 10,000. Twice daily servicing halves it and three or more visits divides it by three. Two further Florida duties attach: units at a special event must be serviced at least daily, and at least one working day before the event the organizer files a signed contract with the servicing company naming the dates, the unit count, the service frequency and the removal date. That contract is ours to produce.
Handwashing is separate. Florida requires one portable handwashing facility per ten restrooms at special events and remote locations where food is served or picnic areas are provided, with sanitizer permitted instead except where food is served. On a plain job site washing facilities are still required under federal rules nationwide. The Prime Dumpster calculator will test your figure against both tables.
The Standard Porta Potty is the default on a Crestview build, vented, stocked and easy to move as the work progresses down a new street. The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty adds a step free entry, grab bars and clear turning space, and belongs at any public event on city ground.
For a guest facing date the Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty gives a flush and clean bowl water, and the Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink keeps the basin inside the cabin, which is the practical answer where a vendor site plan has to show sanitary facilities. On a remote parcel north of town with no temporary power, the Solar Porta Potty carries its own interior light.
A Handwashing Station is the direct answer beside food service, and the Restroom Trailer supplies separate air conditioned stalls for a wedding or a long commercial installation in Panhandle summer heat. The whole range is compared on our porta potty options page.
The unit itself needs no city permit on private ground, and Florida's portable restroom rule says in terms that units at a building site, or at a location used for a temporary period, need no permit from the state department. The annual permit in that rule belongs to the servicing company for the county where it keeps an office or storage yard.
Where Crestview is specific is the vendor pitch. A stationary food dispensing vehicle, meaning one that connects to outside utilities, has to file a site plan with its business tax receipt application, and that plan must show the location of any included accessory structures or facilities, with portable toilets named first in the city's own list. The plan is reviewed against the city's land development rules, its engineering standards manual, the Florida Building Code and any applicable life safety codes. The vendor also needs written permission from the property owner, cannot operate on public property except under a permitted special event, and cannot use vacant, unimproved or undeveloped private land. If you supply a Crestview food pitch, the restroom is part of the submitted drawing rather than an afterthought.
The city's code also makes an enclosed unit the lawful alternative in a different context. Public urination or defecation is a city offense except by proper use of an appropriate sanitary facility, which the code defines as a urinal, toilet, commode or other facility designed for the sanitary disposal of human waste and enclosed from public view. A serviced portable cabin at an event is exactly that, which is a useful argument for an adequate count at a street event.
Streets are restrictive. Obstructing a street or avenue is an offense in Crestview, with the judgment including an order that the obstruction be removed, and the code sets out no placement permit for a placed object. There is a narrow sidewalk dining route on Main Street and nothing broader. Treat a street or sidewalk spot as something to agree with the city in writing, and note that an unpublished administrative route may exist. Community Development Services takes those questions on 850-682-1560 through its Building Permits and Inspections page.
Two county points are worth carrying. Okaloosa County's water and sewer code defines septage as septic tank waste or waste from portable toilets, naming porta potties in plain words, while its biosolids and land application article defines septage so as to exclude the contents of portable toilets. Both readings are live in the same county code, so the destination and the paperwork depend on which chapter a question sits under, and that is the servicing company's problem rather than yours. The county health department's published list of environmental public health programs covers onsite sewage, food, pools, tattooing, mobile home parks and migrant labor with no portable restroom program among them, which matches the state scheme.
Set the cabin on level, firm ground with the door swinging clear of a walkway, a parking stall or a vendor queue. Crestview sits on rolling sand and clay, so a board or small pad under the base is worth using on a fresh pad or after heavy rain. Keep units out of a drainage swale and away from a slope that funnels runoff.
Leave a reasonable gap from food service, drinking water and building air intakes, and give the service truck a straight pull within hose reach. Florida allows a contractor to count multiple building sites as one site, with units shared between them as long as none sits more than 300 feet from the site it serves, which is practical where one builder has several addresses on a new street.
The state sets a weekly visit as the least a building site may have, and an event is serviced daily. Each Crestview call draws the tank down, scrubs the cabin inside, remakes the deodorizer and sanitizer and puts paper back. Florida requires portable restroom waste to go to a treatment works approved to receive it, and the city's own sewer definitions treat holding tank waste from chemical toilets as its own controlled category. The record your account manager keeps is the one a Crestview event filing must match.

Most routine Crestview orders are delivered inside a day or two. The busy stretches are the spring and autumn event season, the fairground and festival weekends, and the weeks after a named storm when Panhandle demand rises everywhere at once.
Service also covers the surrounding Okaloosa County communities, including Baker, Holt, Laurel Hill, Milligan, Niceville, Valparaiso, Destin and the Highway 85 corridor south, together with the porta potty service areas listed below. Those listed sit further out than usual, because the inland Panhandle has few other Prime Dumpster porta potty pages nearby.
In Crestview a standard cabin is quoted at $199 to $349 and an accessible one at $200 to $300. Flushing and sink builds run $300 to $400, solar $500 to $600, washing stations $150 to $250, and trailers open at $1,500. Your account manager settles it with the dates.
Crestview sets no ratio, so the Florida event table governs. It works off attendance and hours with one daily call assumed. At four hours that is two units for 250 people, four for 500, seven for 1,000 and thirteen for 2,000. Twice daily servicing halves those numbers.
The state job site figures apply: one unit to ten, two to twenty, three to thirty, four to forty, five to fifty, then one more per ten beyond. The figures assume a weekly call and halve on two. Cover is required for as long as a crew is on the ground.
One visit a week is the state minimum on a Crestview job, and an event gets a call each day. Every call draws down the tank, cleans the interior, remakes the deodorizer and sanitizer and restocks paper. Your account manager sets the schedule with the order.
No. A unit on your own Crestview lot, driveway or fenced job site needs no city permit, and Florida requires none for a building site or temporary location. A food vendor pitch is the exception, because the units have to appear on the site plan filed with the business tax receipt application.
The standard model is the narrow cabin on most Crestview jobs. An accessible model is broader, steps in at grade, carries grab bars and holds open floor for a wheelchair to turn. Public events on Crestview city ground should include at least one on firm, level ground.
A Crestview weekend rental is usually quoted from the standard $199 to $349 range, because the delivery and collection trips cost the same whether the cabin stays two days or several months. Short bookings therefore sit toward the top end. Your account manager will confirm what two days costs.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. If this is a food vendor pitch, mention it first, because the units have to be drawn on the site plan the city reviews.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
