Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in North Miami
Prime Dumpster rents porta potties right across North Miami, Florida, and this is one of the few places where the state tells you the answer rather than leaving it to judgment. Construction crews on infill housing, sewer conversion work and commercial remodels from Arch Creek across to Keystone Point need units on site for the duration. Event hosts running a community festival, a park event, a food truck night or a campus function need a block of units for a day or two. Households part way through a renovation take a single unit.
Four things set your price: how many units, how long they stay, how often a truck returns, and which model you choose. Below are the ranges, the two Florida tables that fix the count on a building site and at an event, the servicing duties the state puts on whoever owns or hosts the units, and the city route for anything that touches a street.
Service frequency matters more in North Miami than in most markets, because the state's own tables are written around it. The building site table assumes one visit a week and the event table assumes one visit a day, and paying for extra visits can legitimately reduce the number of units you need. That trade is worth running both ways with your account manager before you commit.
Rental length is the other main driver. A one day event here is a delivery and a collection, while a construction job running through a wet season is a long run of service calls that this climate makes essential.
Access shapes the delivery line. Narrow residential streets off NE 125th Street, canal-side lots, bayfront ground and park entrances with height limits all change which truck we send. Describe the final approach and tell us where the tanker can stand.
Model choice carries the balance. Standard units cover trades work, while accessible, flushing, sink and solar units and trailers each sit higher. For a guest-facing event in this heat, a flushing unit or a trailer changes the experience far more than it changes the budget.

Request a Quote NowFlorida publishes two tables, one for building sites and one for events, and the halving rules attached to them are different. Getting that difference right is where most of the saving sits.
On a North Miami building site, the state's building site table sets the count. One restroom covers up to ten people. Eleven to twenty people need two, twenty one to thirty need three, thirty one to forty need four, forty one to fifty need five, and above fifty you add one restroom for every ten additional people or part of ten. The table assumes the restrooms are serviced once per week. Service them twice a week and the figure from the table is divided by two. Pump them three or more times a week and it is divided by three. Fractions are rounded up. The state requires restrooms at commercial and residential building sites while workers are present, and this count sits alongside the federal worker sanitation table rather than replacing it, so the higher number governs.
Two building site provisions save real money. Where a contractor has multiple building sites, those sites count as a single site for working out the number of facilities, and restrooms may be shared between them provided they sit no more than three hundred feet from any individual site served. And no state permit is needed for a portable restroom at a building site or a temporary location.
For a North Miami event, the state's event table applies wherever no local code sets a minimum, and North Miami sets none. For a four hour event the table gives two restrooms at two hundred and fifty people, four at five hundred, and for a six hour event eight at one thousand people, rising to fifteen at two thousand people over eight hours. That table assumes servicing once per day, with the same division by two for twice daily service and by three for three or more visits a day, and restrooms at special events must be serviced at least daily in any case. If permanent restrooms are available to attendees, the portable count can be reduced by what those facilities are designed to handle. The rules are published by the state in its portable restroom rule. Our porta potty calculator is a quick cross-check.
The handwashing rule has a trigger and a substitute, and both get misquoted. The state ratio is one handwashing facility to every ten portable restrooms required, and it is to be provided at special events and remote locations where food is served or picnic areas are provided. Except where food is served, hand sanitizers may be used instead, at the applicant's option. So it is not a flat rule on every job, and where food is involved sanitizer will not do.
A Standard Porta Potty is the everyday unit for North Miami trades and a private gathering on your own property.
An ADA-Compliant Porta Potty has the interior room a wheelchair needs, a level entry and grab bars. Public events should include at least one.
A Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty adds a foot flush and a fresh water tank, which in this climate is the upgrade guests notice first.
A Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts handwashing inside the cabin, which helps on a tight lot and beside a vendor row.
A Solar Porta Potty lights itself for evening events along the bay and for sites with no temporary power.
A Handwashing Station stands next to the units and is how you satisfy the state handwashing ratio where food is served.
A Restroom Trailer gives separate stalls, air conditioning and plumbed sinks for a wedding, a corporate function or a long project with daily staff. Our porta potty options page shows the full range and your account manager will match a model to your site.
On private property in North Miami, with the owner's agreement, a portable restroom does not normally need a city permit, and the state does not require one for a unit at a building site or a temporary location either.
Streets and alleys are controlled. City law makes it unlawful to trespass upon, block, attempt to block or in any way impede the free passage of traffic on any public street or alley without first securing consent, and the operative text puts that consent with the city manager. No counter permit is described for leaving an object in the roadway, so the practical route is private ground. The Public Works streets division answers on 305-895-9870, and department contacts sit on the North Miami streets page.
Events run through Parks and Recreation. The city's community event application goes to the Parks and Recreation Department at 1600 NE 126 Street, attention Special Events Division, on 305-895-9840. The published checklist asks for proof of organization identification from the State of Florida, a description of the event on letterhead, proof of insurance or a quote for special event insurance, a computerized layout map, a tent permit for any tent larger than ten feet by ten feet, a map of cross streets and road closures, proof of a liquor license where alcohol is served, which also requires city council approval, and proof of workers compensation for organizations with four or more employees. Road closures split three ways: local roads close with city manager approval, county roads need a Miami-Dade County permit, and state roads need a state transportation department permit filed thirty days ahead. The city also requires you to use its own trash removal services. Nothing in the application sets a restroom count, which is why the state table is the number to work to.
Two state duties fall on you rather than on us. Anyone who owns portable restrooms but is not a permitted service company must keep a service contract with a permitted service company for every restroom in use, and the owner's name and telephone number must be displayed on every unit. Separately, at least one working day before a special event, the organizer must give the state a signed contract with the service company naming the dates, the number of units, the servicing frequency and the removal date. Your account manager will have that ready in time.
Set the unit on firm, level ground with a clear run for the tanker, away from food service, drinking water and the busiest walking route. Shade helps here, and so does keeping the unit off soft fill near a canal bank.
Each visit pumps the tank, washes and sanitizes the interior, recharges the sanitizer and deodorizer solution and restocks supplies. The state sets the floor: building site restrooms are serviced at least weekly with the inside cleaned every visit, event restrooms at least daily, and the contents removed in their entirety when pumped. Every unit must display the name and telephone number of the servicing company in a conspicuous place.
The waste goes by tanker to a treatment facility the state has approved for that disposal. Prime Dumpster arranges the haul through permitted service companies, and your account manager keeps the service log attached to your job for whoever asks. Keep the approach clear on service days, because in the wet season a tanker that cannot reach the unit will not be back until the next scheduled call.

One or two standard units can usually be in North Miami within a few days. The tight windows are the winter and spring event season, graduation in May, the long construction season and the stretch either side of a tropical storm warning, when demand for units and for service both spike.
Delivery covers the whole north Miami-Dade corridor, running northeast to North Miami Beach, Aventura and Sunny Isles Beach, northwest to Miami Gardens, north to Hallandale Beach and west to Miami Lakes, with Miami, Miami Beach and Hialeah all within easy reach.
A standard unit runs $199 to $349 and an accessible unit $200 to $300. Flushing and sink models are $300 to $400, solar units $500 to $600, handwashing stations $150 to $250, and restroom trailers from $1,500. Your account manager confirms your figure once the dates and the service frequency are set.
Florida publishes an event table, and North Miami sets no local minimum, so the table governs. A four hour event with five hundred guests needs four restrooms, and two thousand guests over eight hours needs fifteen. Twice daily service halves those figures. Your account manager will run your numbers.
The Florida building site table applies: one restroom up to ten people, two for eleven to twenty, three for twenty one to thirty, four for thirty one to forty, five for forty one to fifty, then one more per ten people. Weekly service is assumed, and twice weekly service halves the count.
Florida sets the minimum. Building site restrooms must be serviced at least weekly, with the inside cleaned on every visit, and event restrooms at least daily. We go more often for large crews and in hot, wet weather. Your account manager sets the schedule and it determines your unit count.
On private ground in North Miami, with the owner's agreement, no city permit is normally needed, and no state permit is required at a building site or temporary location. Blocking a street or alley needs consent from the city manager. Your account manager will confirm the route for your site.
An accessible unit is much wider inside so a wheelchair can turn, with a flat threshold, interior grab bars and the accessibility symbol displayed. A standard unit is narrower and has a step. Public events should include at least one accessible unit, and your account manager will advise how many.
A two-day North Miami rental usually lands at the lower end of the standard range, since one delivery and one collection bracket it. For a public event the state still requires daily servicing, so a weekend event carries a service visit the same rental on private ground would not.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. Send the dates, the headcount and the service frequency you have in mind, and we will work the state table both ways before we quote.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
