Most remodeling and cleanout debris can go in your container. Kansas rules and the Ellis County Landfill set the limits.
Kansas law says construction and demolition waste can't include loose, crumbly asbestos, household garbage, tires, drums, or appliances and furniture that still hold ozone-harming refrigerants. That means those items can't ride in a construction debris load. The county takes some of them on their own, with separate fees.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and gas cylinders can't go in a standard dumpster either. Non-friable asbestos needs special plans made with the landfill ahead of time, and it must be wet and covered.
Electronics have their own route. The county takes most electronics free, like laptops, printers, and flat-screen TVs, but it doesn't take old tube TVs, tube monitors, or projection TVs. Tires and appliances with refrigerant are charged separately, so mention them when you book.
Ask your account manager about anything you're unsure of before it goes in.
