Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Jackson
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Jackson, Michigan, and the townships spread around it in Jackson County. Construction crews working the I-94 and US-127 corridors, summer events in Ella Sharp Park and downtown, race weekends that fill the county with visitors, and farms out past the city limits all rely on portable toilets that arrive on schedule.
Four things drive the price: which unit, how many, how long, and how often they are cleaned. Below are the ranges we quote, the counts Michigan expects on a job site, what the City asks of event organizers, and how quickly we can get to you.
Read the table as a standard three-day rental. That is how weekend events are billed, which is why one busy Saturday and a full weekend land in the same place. Construction work moves to a four-week cycle, cleaning included.
Rental length aside, the number of units matters most. A single site taking six units costs less per unit than six sites taking one apiece, since the driver is already there.
Michigan weather sets the rest. A humid July week fills tanks faster and calls for extra service, while a February delivery may mean plowing or shoveling before the truck can get close to the spot you picked.
Site access is the quiet cost. A flat commercial lot is easy. A muddy build site after spring thaw, a narrow older street downtown, or a field entrance off a two-lane road all take longer. Your account manager will show you where each factor lands in your quote.

Request a Quote NowMichigan is one of the states that writes its own workplace safety rules, so the job site numbers here are not the federal ones.
Note that a crew of 30 in Michigan needs two toilets, where the federal rule would allow one toilet and one urinal. Our porta potty calculator gives you a quick starting point, and your account manager can confirm the count.
The right unit depends on who uses it and for how long. All of them are shown on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is the everyday choice for crews and casual gatherings, with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and hand sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty has ground-level entry, a wider door, grab bars, and enough room to turn a wheelchair. Any event open to the public should include one.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty adds a flush and better odor control, which guests notice at a reception or a fundraiser.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts the sink, soap, and mirror inside the stall, a help at family events and near food.
The Solar Porta Potty lights and vents itself from a roof panel, handy on a rural site or an evening event with no power.
The Handwashing Station is a stand-alone sink with fresh water, soap, and paper towels. Place one at each food vendor.
The Restroom Trailer brings several stalls, running water, and heat or air conditioning, worth it for a wedding or a months-long job.
Tell your account manager the crowd or the crew, and they will build the order around it.
Private ground is simple. A unit in your own yard, on a farm, or inside a fenced job site does not need City approval. Public ground is where the paperwork starts.
Streets and sidewalks: Anyone working in the city right-of-way needs a permit from the Engineering Division, and the City's own right-of-way list names dumpsters right alongside drive approaches and sidewalks, so a container or a unit parked on the street is exactly the kind of thing the permit covers. Call the City Engineer at 517-788-4160 before delivery.
Events: Jackson wants the special event application 60 days before the event date. A late or rush fee applies inside 60 days, and nothing at all is accepted inside 30 days. A street closure is only granted when you expect at least 3,000 people.
Restrooms at events: The application includes a bathroom plan. You have to state how many restrooms or portable toilets you will provide, including accessible ones, name the company supplying and servicing them, and mark their locations on your event map. The City is clear that providing enough restrooms for the crowd is the organizer's job, not the City's.
Food vendors: A temporary food license comes from the Jackson County Health Department on Lansing Avenue at 517-788-4420. The license covers up to two weeks at a fixed location, and a sanitarian inspects the booth before it opens.
State highways: I-94, US-127, and the M routes belong to the state. Anything placed in that right-of-way needs an MDOT permit. Your account manager can help you figure out who controls your spot.
Set units on firm, level ground. Spring thaw and heavy summer rain both soften ground fast around here, and a full tank sitting on soft soil will tip or sink.
Keep the truck's path open. Low branches, narrow alleys downtown, snow piles in winter, and parked equipment on a job site are the usual obstacles.
Keep units at least 15 feet from food service, and away from wells, drains, and the river. On a job site, put them within 200 feet of the work so your crew is not walking across the property.
Service runs on a weekly schedule by default: the tank is pumped, the inside cleaned, and paper and sanitizer restocked. Hot weather, alcohol at an event, and large crews all justify more.
Michigan treats what comes out of a porta potty as septage, and the company that pumps it is licensed as a septage waste servicer, with the truck licensed and marked as well. The load has to go to an authorized receiving facility or an approved land application site. The city's own wastewater treatment plant treats Jackson sewage under a state permit and sends clean water to the Grand River. Your account manager can confirm your service schedule.

Once booked, most Jackson deliveries happen within 24 to 48 hours. Three to five days of notice gets you the exact units you want. Race weekends, county fair week, and graduation season all tighten supply, and a City event permit is due 60 days ahead no matter what.
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery throughout the City of Jackson and across Jackson County, including Blackman, Summit, Spring Arbor, Napoleon, Brooklyn, Grass Lake, Parma, and Concord. Whether the job is a downtown renovation, a wedding at a country venue, or a crew working along the interstate, we plan delivery, service, and pickup around your dates.
Standard units average $199–$349, ADA-compliant units $200–$300, and deluxe flushing or sink units $300–$400. Solar units run $500–$600, handwashing stations $150–$250, and restroom trailers start at $1,500. The count, the rental period, and how often the units are serviced decide the final number your account manager quotes.
Plan 1 unit per 50 guests over about four hours, then add 15 to 20 percent if alcohol is served. A 200-guest graduation party lands near four units plus a handwashing station. Public events need accessible units too. Your account manager can size the order once you share the head count.
Michigan sets its own numbers. A crew of 1 to 20 needs 1 toilet, 21 to 40 needs 2 toilets, and above 40 you add 1 more for each additional 40 workers or fewer. A chemical toilet satisfies the rule where there is no sewer. Tell your account manager when the crew size changes.
Weekly service is standard, covering a pump-out, an interior cleaning, and fresh paper and sanitizer. Michigan's construction rules also expect regular servicing on a job site. Humid summer weeks, big crews, and events with alcohol all call for more frequent visits. Your account manager sets the schedule with you.
No. A unit on your own yard, farm, or fenced job site in Jackson needs no City permit. Approval is needed when the unit goes in a street, on a sidewalk, in a City park, or in a state highway right-of-way, or when it serves a permitted public event. Your account manager can help you check.
A standard unit is a compact stall with a step at the door. An ADA unit is wider, enters at ground level, and adds grab bars plus turning space for a wheelchair. Jackson's event application asks specifically how many accessible units you will bring. Crew-only units on a construction site are exempt from the rule.
A weekend rental is billed as a three-day period, so a one-day event usually costs what the full weekend does. Standard units average $199–$349, deluxe flushing units $300–$400, and handwashing stations $150–$250. Your account manager confirms delivery and pickup windows when you book.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will match the units to Michigan's rules and your crowd, set the cleaning visits, and give you a clear price on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
