Porta Potty Rental in Draper, UT 84020

Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty rentals across Draper, Utah, and the south end of the Salt Lake Valley. Work here runs from residential construction climbing the benches and the SunCrest side, through tenant improvement and data center fit-outs along the tech corridor, to road and utility crews on the interstate, trail and open-space projects in Corner Canyon, and an events calendar that fills from the city festival in July through concerts at the amphitheater to trail races and rodeo weekends.

Your price comes down to the unit you specify, the quantity, the length of the rental and the frequency of service. Below you will find our ranges, the two very different unit-count answers that apply in Utah, who issues what permit here, and how quickly we can be on the ground.

Portable Toilet Rentals in Draper, Utah

The ranges above are built around a three-day rental. In practice a one-day Saturday booking in Draper is priced the same as Friday to Sunday, so there is no saving in taking a shorter window.

Events are where a Draper quote can jump, and the reason is the state rule rather than anything we add. Utah's mass gathering table counts by crowd and by hours, adds two fifths more units where alcohol is served, and wants a handwashing station for every ten toilets, so a big festival order has three separate line items in it.

Longer construction rentals are written in four-week blocks with weekly service included, and the repeat blocks come in under the first.

Then there is the ground itself. A bench lot with a steep approach or a unit parked at the back of a fenced site costs the driver time. Valley summers push many sites to two visits a week, and winter work on the hillside needs the cold-weather setup.

How Many Porta Potties Do I Need in Draper, UT?

Utah gives you two answers, and they could hardly be less alike. For construction the federal table applies unchanged. For a large event the state writes a detailed table of its own.

  • Job sites, the federal count: one facility for 20 workers or fewer; at 20 or more, one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers; at 200 or more, one toilet seat and one urinal per 50. That is the federal sanitation standard, and Utah runs its own workplace safety plan but adopts those construction rules by reference. Utah's own construction standards cover roofing, cranes, rock crushing and wall raising, and say nothing about toilets.
  • Washing facilities are federal, not a Utah add-on: the same federal standard says lavatories shall be made available in all places of employment, with a narrow exception for mobile crews. Treat the station as a required item on any Draper site, not an upsell.
  • One Utah rule that is tighter, and where it bites: the state's temporary labor community rules cover work locations attached to worker housing, and there one toilet plus one handwashing facility is required for every 20 workers of each sex, within a quarter-mile walk, wherever anyone works three hours or more. That reaches a remote camp rather than an ordinary subdivision job, so ask us if your project houses its crew.
  • Events, the state table: Utah counts by peak crowd against average hours on site. A gathering of 1,000 people averaging four hours needs eight toilets; 2,000 at four hours needs twelve; 5,000 at four hours needs twenty-five. Where alcohol is consumed the required number goes up by 40 percent.
  • Accessibility and sinks, both fixed numbers: 5 percent of the required toilets must be accessible, with a minimum of one, marked with the international accessibility symbol, and you need one working hand wash station for every ten toilets or part of ten, stocked with soap, water and single-use towels. Plan an accessible model wherever a cluster stands, consistent with the federal design standards.
  • Where they go: at least 100 feet from any food service operation and no more than 300 feet from the grandstand, the spectator area or the activity itself, with one covered trash container per ten toilets.

Our porta potty calculator gives you a first pass. Your account manager then runs it through the state table, applies the alcohol uplift and checks the accessible floor before you commit.

Which Porta Potty Is Right for Your Project in Draper, UT?

Choose on who will use it, for how long, and whether the health department will be reading your site plan. Everything is laid out on the porta potty options page.

The Standard Porta Potty is the workhorse: a single private stall with toilet, urinal, paper holder and sanitizer, and the unit the state table counts.

The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is the model that satisfies Utah's 5 percent accessible requirement. It is wider, enters level, and holds grab bars and wheelchair turning space.

The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty offers a flushing bowl and far better odor control for weddings, receptions and corporate days.

The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink has its own sink, soap and mirror inside, though a mass gathering still needs the separate stations counted at one per ten.

The Solar Porta Potty draws light and ventilation from a roof panel, which answers a canyon trailhead or an evening event with no mains supply.

The Handwashing Station is a required line item twice over in Utah: federally on every construction site, and at one per ten toilets at a mass gathering.

The Restroom Trailer brings several private stalls, running water and climate control, and it is the sensible answer for a wedding at the amphitheater or a season-long site.

Unsure which way to go? Give your account manager a crew number or an attendance estimate and they will build the mix.

Do I Need a Permit for a Porta Potty in Draper, UT?

On private property, no. Draper issues nothing for a unit standing on your own lot, in your driveway or inside a fenced work site. Three other situations do need paperwork, and two of them are not the City.

Private property and job sites: keep the unit inside your boundary, off the public sidewalk and out of the park strip. On a project already holding a building permit, the unit is simply part of your approved site setup.

City streets and the public right of way: Draper processes an encroachment permit through its online services portal, alongside grading, land disturbance and temporary use applications. The portal sits on the City's applications, licenses and permits page. Call before you plan a street location.

A Draper special event permit, with real deadlines. A standard event under 500 expected attendance must be filed at least 45 days ahead. A large-scale event of 500 or more must be filed at least 90 days ahead. A filming event needs only four business days, but carries a non-refundable review and permit fee of $175 covering up to three locations. Liability cover of $2,000,000 per occurrence with $3,000,000 in aggregate is required, naming the City as additional insured, and both the certificate and the endorsement are due seven business days out. The City also warns that any money spent promoting an event before the permit issues is entirely at the organizer's risk.

Your restroom plan goes in the application file. Draper's site plan must show the locations of restrooms, water stations and waste containers alongside emergency access and vendor areas, and accessibility is the applicant's own responsibility. So the order has to be settled before the paperwork goes in, which is why your account manager wants the numbers early. The events team takes calls on 801-576-6584.

And the county health permit, which catches people out. Salt Lake County Health requires its own mass gathering permit where an event lasts more than two hours and draws more than 500 people, on top of any city permit. Apply at least 30 calendar days ahead to avoid a late fee; fees scale with attendance and the county says plainly that waivers are not granted. Indoor events and purpose-built venues such as stadiums are generally outside it. The county trigger is lower than the 1,000-person figure in the state definition, so an 800-person festival here needs the county permit even though the state table has not started. Questions go to 385-468-3845.

Porta Potty Placement and Servicing in Draper, UT

Utah writes the event servicing rules in unusual detail, and the deadlines in them are commercial facts as much as legal ones.

Level, firm ground first, with a clear truck approach. The state wants units of sound construction, easily cleanable and durable, and it wants each one secured with tie-downs or anchors against vandalism and weather, which matters on an exposed bench site with canyon winds. Keep them 100 feet or more from food service and within 300 feet of the crowd.

At a mass gathering, waste must be removed from each unit at least once every 24 hours, more often if conditions call for it, and the local health officer can change that frequency for weather, season or the nature of the event. At the end of the gathering every unit has to be serviced and then removed within 48 hours. Both deadlines go into the delivery plan from the start, because a Monday collection on a Sunday-night finish is not optional.

The state also puts a duty on the organizer to contract with a liquid waste hauler permitted by the local health department, and to send removed waste to a wastewater treatment facility. That is our paperwork as much as yours, so your account manager will set out the service arrangement in writing before anything is delivered.

On a construction site the picture is simpler. Weekly service is our baseline, with twice-weekly common through the summer. Each visit empties the tank into a sealed truck, washes the interior, recharges the chemical and restocks supplies.

How Fast Can You Get a Porta Potty in Draper, UT?

Most Draper orders go out inside 24 to 48 hours. Three to five days lets us match an exact specification. For anything running to the state table, work backwards from the permit deadlines instead of the delivery date, because a 90-day city filing and a 30-day county filing both need your unit count already decided.

Five points that keep a Draper booking on track:

  • Separate the two answers. Federal counts on the job site, the state table at a mass gathering.
  • Add 40 percent for a bar. Utah applies an alcohol uplift to the required toilet number.
  • Buy the sinks as a ratio. One station per ten toilets, with a minimum of one accessible unit.
  • Diary the removal window. Units must be serviced and gone within 48 hours of the finish.
  • Check both permits. The county threshold is lower than the state table's starting point.

Draper, UT Porta Potty Questions

How much does a porta potty rental cost in Draper, UT?

Reckon on $199–$349 for a standard unit and $200–$300 for an accessible one. Deluxe flushing and sink models are $300–$400, solar units $500–$600, and a restroom trailer starts at $1,500. Handwashing stations are $150–$250, and Utah counts them at one per ten toilets at a large event.

How many porta potties do I need for a party or event?

For a gathering above 1,000 people, Utah's own table decides: eight units at 1,000 people over four hours, twelve at 2,000, twenty-five at 5,000, plus 40 percent more where alcohol is served and at least 5 percent accessible. Smaller events get a count from your account manager.

How many porta potties does a construction site need?

The federal table applies in Utah unchanged. One facility covers twenty workers or fewer. Above twenty you need one toilet seat and one urinal per forty workers, and above two hundred one per fifty. A washing facility is required on site as well, by the same federal rule.

How often do porta potties get cleaned?

On a job site, weekly as standard and twice weekly on request. At a Utah mass gathering the rule is stricter: waste must come out of every unit at least once every 24 hours, and the health officer can require more. Every visit also sanitizes the interior and restocks supplies.

Do I need a permit to put a porta potty on my property?

No. Draper requires no permit for a unit on private ground, including a driveway or a fenced construction site. Keep it inside your property line and clear of the sidewalk and park strip. Anything standing in a City street needs an encroachment permit first.

What is the difference between a standard and an ADA porta potty?

A standard unit is one narrow stall with a toilet, a urinal and sanitizer. The accessible model is wider, enters at ground level with no step, and has grab bars plus turning space for a wheelchair. Utah requires at least 5 percent of event units to be this model, minimum one.

How much is a porta potty for a weekend?

Our pricing already assumes three days, so a weekend is the base case. Expect $199–$349 for a standard unit, $300–$400 for a deluxe flushing one, and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. Your account manager will set the delivery window and the collection day.
