Bowling Green is in the rare position of hosting its own county landfill, which makes the destination short and the haul cheap.
Loads from the city go to the Wood County Landfill at 15320 Tontogany Road, Bowling Green, OH 43402. It is owned and operated by the Wood County Solid Waste Management District, and its office line is 419-352-0180. The gate is open Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with no inbound customers after 3:15 p.m., and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to noon, with no inbound customers after 11:45 a.m. It closes on New Year's Day and the day after, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the day after.
The city sends you there itself. Its refuse page states that the City is not authorized to pick up building materials, construction or demolition refuse, sod, or rocks, and lists hot and bath tubs, roofing material, and remodelling material among them, with the Wood County Landfill named as the place they go. The city has also ended its funded brush drop-off at the landfill, so yard material now carries the county's own yard waste charge.
Two practical notes. Ohio requires loads to be covered and secured on the way to the landfill, which is part of why a roll-off beats a pickup for anything loose. And the county warns that Saturday volume is heavy with long waits, so a weekday haul usually turns faster.
