Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Des Moines
Prime Dumpster supplies porta potty rentals throughout Des Moines, Washington, and the south King County cities packed in around it. Demand here is a mix: remodels and infill construction on the hillside streets, marina and waterfront work, hotel and warehouse projects in the airport corridor, school and park upgrades, and a steady run of events from a summer concert at Beach Park to a waterfront festival to a weekend soccer tournament.
Four things move your number: which unit you choose, how many go out, how long you keep them and how often a driver returns. What follows is our pricing, the Washington counts that govern a job site, how the City treats any private use of its right of way, and realistic delivery timing.
Every range above assumes a three-day rental, which covers a normal Friday through Sunday booking. One Saturday on its own rarely costs any less.
The state count is the single biggest lever on a Des Moines job-site order. Washington requires a second unit once a crew tops ten, so a 24-person crew here buys two where the national table would allow one. Warm water at the sink is a state requirement too, which is why the washing item belongs in your budget from the first draft.
Jobs running past a month are written in four-week blocks with weekly service rolled in. The repeat weeks cost less than the first.
Site conditions finish the pricing. A long carry from the gate, a hillside lot with no truck turnaround, or a unit tucked behind locked fencing all add driver minutes. Busy summer sites often move to twice-weekly service, and winter orders get the cold-weather treatment.

Start with our porta potty calculator for a first figure, then let your account manager check it against the state table before anything goes on a truck.
Match the unit to the user and the length of the job. Full detail is on the porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty covers the working crew: one lockable stall with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty gives a level entry with no step, a wider shell, grab bars and room for a wheelchair to turn inside.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty has a flushing bowl and much stronger odor control, which matters at a waterfront wedding or a catered reception.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink carries its own sink, soap and mirror inside the stall, so nobody has to walk the site to wash.
The Solar Porta Potty lights and ventilates itself from a roof panel, which suits a shoreline work site or an evening event with no power nearby.
The Handwashing Station is what the state's warm-water requirement is asking for: a freestanding sink with potable water, soap and single-use towels.
The Restroom Trailer arrives with several private stalls, running water and heating, and it is the only equipment that answers the state's milk-expression requirement outdoors.
Still weighing it up? Tell your account manager the crew size or the expected turnout and they will build the mix.
Not on private ground. The City asks for no permit to stand a unit on your own lot, in your driveway or inside a fenced job site. The rules bite the moment any part of it reaches the public right of way.
On your own property: keep the unit behind the property line, off the sidewalk and clear of the gutter. Where the job already holds a building permit, the unit is part of normal site setup.
Any private use of the right of way needs a permit, and there are three kinds. The City's Permit Center sets out a short-term, non-invasive permit for use lasting 72 or fewer continuous hours that does not disturb the surface, which is the one a street-side unit or a short street closure falls under; an invasive permit for anything that alters or disturbs the surface; and a long-term, non-invasive permit for extended use. The Planning, Building and Public Works Director issues them, and bigger ones go to the City Council.
Three details worth knowing before you plan around a permit. A permit runs only for the time written on its face and cannot be renewed, so continued use means a fresh application. Any object or thing occupying the right of way without a permit is treated as a nuisance, and the City can tag it, remove it and bill the cost back as a civil debt. And where the City provides staff support for an event, the permit holder reimburses those costs, which can take in police, parks, marina and public works time.
Safety conditions come with it: warning lights, signs and barricades wherever there could be an obstruction or hazard to traffic or people on foot, a traffic detour plan if the traffic engineer asks for one, and nothing placed within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. Liability insurance is required in the form and amount the City sets, and a cash deposit or security device can be asked for as well. Call the Permit Center on 206-878-4595 before you commit to a street location.
Events: park shelters, athletic fields, the Field House and the Beach Park Event Center all book through Parks and Recreation on 206-870-6527, with completed forms, deposits and insurance. There is no published attendee-to-restroom figure attached to any of it, so that number comes from us and goes to your account manager first.
Placement on these streets is mostly about slope and turnaround, and the state writes much of the servicing standard for you.
Set units on firm, level ground with a clear approach for a service truck, which Washington makes an express requirement rather than a nicety. Keep them 15 feet or more from food service, out of the gutter line, and well back from storm inlets heading for the Sound.
Weekly service is the baseline and we go more often where traffic justifies it. The state also says a unit must be sized so its tank never passes half full before the scheduled visit, which is exactly why adding units beats adding visits on a big crew. A visit draws the tank down through a vacuum hose into a sealed, leak-proof tank truck, washes out the interior, recharges the chemical and restocks paper and seat covers.
Washington adds two duties that sit with the customer rather than with us. Facilities have to be inspected at the start of each shift, with the record kept on site for 72 hours, and on a site with several employers the prime contractor has to make sure the requirements are met for everyone. Internal latches are required on every unit, and once 20 or more workers of both sexes are present the state wants facilities for each sex.
On disposal, the state directs waste to whatever the local health jurisdiction requires, and in the absence of local provisions into municipal or district sanitary sewage systems. Des Moines sits inside a separate sewer district rather than a city-run utility, so your account manager confirms the service schedule and the disposal route with you before the first delivery.

Standard units can usually reach a Des Moines address within 24 to 48 hours. With three to five days we can match the exact specification. Summer weekends at the marina and on the waterfront book out early, so give a festival or a wedding several weeks.
Five things that keep the schedule honest:
Prime Dumpster runs porta potties across Des Moines and the south King County communities on every side of it, including Burien, SeaTac, Kent, Federal Way, Tukwila, Covington, Normandy Park, Renton, Auburn and Maple Valley. This is the densest cluster of pages we have anywhere in Washington, and every city on the list below is inside 12 road miles, so short-notice deliveries and extra service visits are straightforward.
A standard unit runs $199–$349 and an accessible one $200–$300. Expect $300–$400 for a deluxe flushing or sink model, $500–$600 for solar, and from $1,500 for a restroom trailer. Allow $150–$250 for the handwashing station the state expects alongside a construction unit.
The City prints no ratio, so we size it ourselves from peak attendance, how many hours the event runs and whether drink is served, then add an accessible model in each cluster. Your account manager gives you a number you can put in front of Parks and Recreation with confidence.
Use the Washington table, not the national one. One unit covers up to ten workers, two from eleven to twenty-five, three from twenty-six to forty, four from forty-one to sixty, five from sixty-one to eighty, and one more per extra twenty. Warm wash water is required at all sites.
Our standard is one visit a week, and two or more is easy to set up. Each visit pumps the tank into a sealed truck, washes the interior, puts fresh chemical in and restocks supplies. Because the state caps the tank at half full between visits, heavy sites get extra units instead.
No permit is needed for a unit on private ground, including a driveway or a fenced work site. Keep it inside your boundary and off the public sidewalk. The moment any part of it sits in the street or on the verge, you are into right-of-way permit territory.
A standard unit is one narrow private stall with a toilet, urinal and sanitizer. The accessible version is substantially wider, steps up nowhere, and includes grab bars and enough clear floor for a wheelchair to turn. We allow for one in each group of units at public events.
Our ranges already cover a three-day window, so a weekend is the standard case. Plan on $199–$349 for a standard unit, $300–$400 for a deluxe flushing one and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. Your account manager locks in the drop and collection times.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will count to the Washington table, add the warm-water stations the state wants, and sort out the street question before anything leaves the yard.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
