Evans, Colorado dates back to 1885 when Richard Harlan founded the city with three other settlers; since then its population has grown exponentially. The town took on its name after one of those four settlers, John Evans who was Colorado’s 2nd territorial governor. From this early beginning, many of today’s attractions have been added to keep up with the modern times while maintaining historic charm.
For example, Main Street Plaza is a park that celebrates Evans’ history through monuments, sculptures, and art pieces from local artists. There are also plenty of recreational activities available like golf courses, fishing spots, and parks which make it easy to explore nature here too.
In addition to these features, there are several museums located throughout town including Greeley History Museum, which houses artifacts dating back as far as the late 1800s. Lastly, one can’t forget about the annual events held by this community like Taste of Evans or Holiday Light Spectacular that bring everyone together for fun-filled festivities.
