Home Areas We Service New York Porta Potty Rental Ithaca, New York 14850

Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty rentals across Ithaca, New York, the college city at the south end of Cayuga Lake. Hillside home repairs, campus-area construction, festivals on the Commons, market weekends, graduation parties and gorge trail races all need a clean unit close by, and we line up portable toilets for construction crews and event hosts in every Ithaca neighborhood.
Four things set an Ithaca quote: the unit, the head count, the number of days and how often the tank is pumped. Below you will find the ranges, the counting rules that apply in New York, how the City's newer special event permit works, and how much notice an Ithaca order needs.
Each Ithaca range above covers a three-day rental. A reunion weekend on South Hill fits inside that window, while a student housing renovation or a summer roofing job usually shifts to a monthly Ithaca rate with weekly service built in.
Ithaca's grades are the first cost driver. On East Hill and South Hill the service truck needs a level, paved spot it can reach without backing down a slope, and a unit tucked far up a steep yard can lengthen every Ithaca visit.
Lake-effect winters are the second. From December into March an Ithaca job site may need a cleared path to the door and winter-grade fluid in the tank, and those visits get planned around snow days.
The academic calendar is the third. Move-in week and commencement weekend fill Ithaca schedules quickly, so units for those dates should be reserved well ahead.
Accessible units, flushing cabins, sinks, handwashing stations and extra visits are priced line by line, so your account manager can give clear, upfront pricing on the whole Ithaca order.

Request a Quote NowStart an Ithaca count with people and hours. These are the planning figures we use:
New York runs an OSHA state plan that covers state and local government workers only. On a private Ithaca construction site, federal OSHA and its table apply as written. A City of Ithaca or Tompkins County crew is under the state's public employee plan instead, so a public agency should confirm its own count with that program, and we can help it plan.
Very large gatherings fall under a separate New York health rule. It starts at 5,000 people who stay 24 hours or more, and it sets no fixed ratio. Facilities must be adequate, and the rule treats equipment installed and kept up to normal trade practice as adequate. Its timing is strict: the application is due at least 15 days before the first day of advertising and 45 days before the gathering, and water and sewage facilities must be working 48 hours before the gates open. For a city under 50,000 people such as Ithaca, the county health officer handles it, which here means the Tompkins County Health Department. Our porta potty calculator gives a first number, and your account manager will check it against your Ithaca site.

In Ithaca, the slope of the lot and the type of guest usually decide the unit. You can compare every model on our porta potty options page.
A Standard Porta Potty gives an Ithaca crew a toilet, urinal, paper and sanitizer, and it suits a fenced site downtown or a porch rebuild on a hill street.
An ADA-Compliant Porta Potty has level entry, a wide door, grab bars and room to turn, and every public Ithaca event should include one.
A Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty adds a flush and better odor control, which helps at an Ithaca backyard wedding with guests close by.
A Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink builds in a sink, soap and mirror for a lakeside party or a graduation open house.
A Solar Porta Potty runs its light and fan on sunlight, useful at a trailhead event or a rural Tompkins County build with no power.
A Handwashing Station stands on its own with water, soap and towels, and belongs beside food vendors at any Ithaca market.
A Restroom Trailer offers several stalls with running water, a good match for a large reception or a reunion tent.
Describe the hill, the crowd and the dates to your account manager, and the Ithaca order will be built around all three.
A unit on ground you own or control, such as a driveway or a fenced work yard, is normally a private matter in Ithaca. The City steps in when the event grows, or when anything touches a street, a sidewalk or a park.
A crowd on private land can still need a City permit. The City of Ithaca's special events page lists an Outdoor Assembly Event Operating Permit for gatherings of 50 or more people on public or private property. A combined Special Event Permit is required once an event triggers three or more listed qualifiers, such as that assembly permit, park use, amplified sound, tents over 400 square feet, temporary structures, vending, alcohol or a street closure. The same page sets the fee by how many qualifiers apply, at $100, $250 or $500, plus $200 for a late filing. It also says the City will approve only one event per calendar day that uses City resources, so check the Ithaca event calendar before you fix a date. The Event Permit Specialist answers at (607) 274-6579.
Street and sidewalk placement. The street permits page says a Street Permit from the Engineering Office is needed to obstruct, encumber or occupy any public street or sidewalk area, apart from parades and gatherings the Ithaca Police Department has permitted. The application asks for insurance naming the City and a sketch of the work, and the page warns that review can take over a week. The office number is (607) 274-6530.
Neighborhood street closings. For a block event, the City's street closing page adds an Assembly Permit from the Ithaca Police Department when more than 50 people take part. The applicant must remove all event trash, and cleanup the City has to do is billed back.
The City code. Ithaca's ordinances are published by a host that asks automated readers not to crawl it, and we honor that. The code certainly exists, we have not read it, and we make no claim about what it says on portable toilets.
Hauling. New York's environmental agency treats portable toilet waste as its own class, separate from residential septage, and the truck that pumps it needs a state waste transporter permit.
Your account manager can sort out the special event permit, the street permit and the county health office with you on one call.

Choose firm, level ground the service truck can reach, close to the street on a steep Ithaca lot. Keep units well back from gorge edges, creeks, storm drains and the lake shore, and at least 15 feet from food. On a Ithaca job site, keep units within about 200 feet of the work.
At an Ithaca event, set units in small groups near the entrance with the accessible unit on the flattest spot. A unit placed for a street event must follow the City's permit terms, including the No Parking signs the City expects 24 hours ahead of a closure.
Weekly service is the Ithaca baseline: the tank is pumped, the cabin washed and sanitized, and paper and sanitizer restocked. Busy festival weekends and warm months often need a second visit, and winter sites may need cleared access before each stop.

Most confirmed Ithaca orders are delivered within 24 to 48 hours. Give us three to five days and the exact Ithaca units you picked can be scheduled. For a commencement weekend or a festival, book several weeks out so the City permit, any street permit and the units all line up.
Five habits for a smooth Ithaca drop:
Prime Dumpster serves Ithaca and nearby communities, including Elmira, Auburn, Binghamton and Syracuse. From a dorm renovation near campus to a wedding on the lake, delivery, service and pickup are scheduled around your Ithaca dates.

A standard unit averages $199–$349 for three days in Ithaca. Ithaca accessible units run $200–$300, deluxe units $300–$400, and restroom trailers begin at $1,500. Hill access, winter conditions and extra visits can change the total, and your account manager will quote it for free.
Plan one unit for every 50 guests over about four hours, and add 15 to 20 percent when alcohol is served. In Ithaca, a gathering of 50 or more people can also need a City assembly permit, even on private land. Your account manager will confirm the final count.
The federal table calls for one toilet for 20 or fewer workers, then one seat and one urinal per 40 workers, and one per 50 once a crew reaches 200. Private Ithaca sites follow it directly. Your account manager can size a multi-phase job.
Ithaca units are serviced weekly by default, with a pump-out, a wash and fresh supplies at every visit. Crowded weekends, summer heat and long job sites often call for twice-weekly service. Tell your account manager your busiest days and the schedule will follow them.
Usually not for a unit in your own driveway or yard. But Ithaca lists an outdoor assembly permit for gatherings of 50 or more on private property, and anything in a street needs an Engineering Office permit. Your account manager can walk you through both.
A standard Ithaca unit is a compact cabin with a small step at the door. The ADA model is wider, with level entry, grab bars and turning room for a wheelchair at a Ithaca event. Public events in Ithaca should include at least one, and your account manager can suggest the right mix.
Pricing runs on a three-day block, so an Ithaca weekend usually sits at the base rate. For Ithaca, figure $199–$349 per standard unit, $300–$400 per deluxe flushing unit and $150–$250 per handwashing station. Your account manager confirms the Ithaca drop-off, pickup and final total.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will size the order, choose units that suit your Ithaca site and give you a price on the same call.
Between hill streets, lake-effect snow and a permit that counts qualifiers, an Ithaca rental has a few moving parts, and your Prime Dumpster account manager keeps every one of them on track from the first call to the last pickup.
