Home Areas We Service New York Porta Potty Rental New York, New York 11368

At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across New York, New York, from Queens and Brooklyn to Manhattan and the Bronx. Construction drives much of it, from gut renovations and sidewalk shed work to utility digs, and so do events: street fairs along Roosevelt Avenue, ball games and tournaments near Flushing Meadows, block parties, film shoots, and parks gatherings all summer.
Price here depends on the unit type, the number of units, how long they stay, and how often a truck can reach them. Below you'll find price ranges, counts for crews and crowds, the City permits involved, and what it takes to get units delivered on a tight block.
Those ranges cover a standard three-day rental, which is how a weekend event is usually written up. A construction site runs on four-week cycles, so a long job costs less per day than a single weekend does.
Access is the biggest local factor by far. A unit set behind a fence on a Queens lot is simple. A unit on a narrow block with alternate side parking, a loading window, and no curb space takes planning, and the service truck has to get back to it every week. Tell your account manager about parking, gates, and loading hours up front.
Timing is the second factor. Street fair season, marathon and race weekends, and summer park events all pull units at once across the five boroughs. The same goes for the stretch right after a storm, when restoration crews lease units in bulk.
Unit choice rounds it out. A row of standard units is the cheapest way to serve a crowd. A restroom trailer costs more and needs a bigger footprint, but for a rooftop wedding or a long corporate build it's often the right answer. Your account manager can quote both.

New York adds a rule most cities don't. Under the City Health Code rules for temporary food events, when an event site has no permanent plumbing the sponsor has to provide and maintain portable chemical toilets plus handwashing sinks with hot and cold running water, for food workers and for the public. The same rules want a handwashing sink next to each food stand and next to the toilets, and those sinks can be shared if they're close by. So if your event feeds people, handwashing stations aren't optional extras here.
Our porta potty calculator gives you a starting number, and your account manager can adjust it for your site plan.

Pick the unit around who uses it and where it sits. Every option is on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is the compact everyday unit, with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and hand sanitizer. It's the default on job sites and at street events.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty has a wide door, a flat entry, grab bars, and room to turn a wheelchair. Build one into every group at a public event.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty flushes and holds odor better, which guests notice at a wedding or a sponsored event.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts a sink, soap, and mirror inside, which saves space when you have very little of it.
The Solar Porta Potty lights and vents itself from the sun, useful on a park site or an early-stage build with no power run yet.
The Handwashing Station is a stand-alone sink with clean water, soap, and towels. City rules put one beside the food and one beside the toilets.
The Restroom Trailer brings several stalls, running water, and climate control, for weddings, corporate events, and long-term sites with room to park it.
Walk your layout through with your account manager and they'll pick the mix that fits the space you have.
On private property, a unit in a backyard, a driveway, or a fenced job site generally needs no City permit. Everything changes at the property line.
Streets and sidewalks: Placing equipment on a City street or closing part of a sidewalk needs a transportation department permit. The published fee schedule sets $50 for up to 90 days on each of the construction activity permits, including placing material or equipment on the street and temporarily closing a sidewalk or roadway. The department will tell you which category your unit falls under, and 311 can point you to the right office.
One thing you don't need: a rented porta potty isn't a privy under the City Health Code, which treats privies as permanent in-ground facilities and specifically excludes portable units at construction sites and other street locations. So there's no separate health authorization for the unit itself.
Street events: Events on a curb lane, sidewalk, or street that get in the way of normal use need a street event permit from the City's event office. Applications are due 14, 30, or 45 days ahead depending on the size of the event, with a site plan, a schedule, and at least $1 million of insurance. Fees are charged per location per day and start at $3,100 for a small event, as the street events page sets out. Every other agency permit has to be in hand before that permit is granted.
Block parties: A block party permit is a different track: one block, one day, up to nine straight hours, no sales, no rain date, and the application is due 60 days ahead. You also need to belong to a block association and have your neighbors' agreement.
State roads: Some routes in and out of the city are state highways. Work on the state highway system needs a permit from the state transportation department instead.
Food vendors: Each food stand needs its own City temporary food permit, and the event sponsor has to send the health department a list of participating vendors at least 30 days before the first day. The sponsor also arranges daily collection of waste water from the stands in enclosed, leak-proof containers.
Not sure which agency owns your spot? Your account manager can help you sort it out before the truck is dispatched.

Space is the whole game here. Pick a firm, level spot that a truck can reach, and measure the gap before you order. A unit needs clearance to be set down and lifted again, so a tight courtyard or a shared driveway may rule itself out.
Keep units at least 15 feet from any food service and away from storm drains, cellar entries, and building air intakes. On a job site, hold them inside about 200 feet of the work. At an event, break units into small groups near the entrances and keep an accessible unit in each one.
A standard rental includes a weekly visit to pump the tank, clean and sanitize the inside, and restock paper and sanitizer. Busy street events and large crews need more, and so do summer weeks. Because City traffic restricts when a truck can stop, tell your account manager the hours your block allows and they'll build the schedule around them.
New York State requires a waste transporter permit for this work. The state environment department's transporter permit covers portable toilet waste, requires haulers to deliver only to facilities authorized to accept it, and requires the permit number on both sides and the rear of the truck. The city's own sewage goes to one of 14 wastewater resource recovery facilities that together handle about 1.3 billion gallons a day. The one serving northeast Queens is Bowery Bay, running since 1939 and built for 150 million gallons a day. Your account manager can confirm the service plan for your units.

Most New York orders can be delivered within 24 to 48 hours, though a Manhattan or downtown Brooklyn drop may need a specific delivery window. Three to five days of notice helps a lot. For a street fair, a race weekend, or a summer wedding, book several weeks ahead.
Five things that keep a city delivery on track:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery across all five boroughs, including Corona, Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, Flushing, Astoria, and Long Island City in Queens, plus Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Staten Island. We also cover the inner suburbs, from Mount Vernon, Yonkers, and New Rochelle in Westchester to Valley Stream, Garden City, and Mineola in Nassau County. Tight block or open lot, we schedule delivery, service, and pickup around the access you have.

A standard porta potty averages $199 to $349 per unit here, and an accessible unit averages $200 to $300. Deluxe units run $300 to $400, and a restroom trailer starts at $1,500. Unit count, rental length, service visits, and site access all move the total. Your account manager confirms the figure in your free quote.
Plan one unit for every 50 guests at a four-hour event, and add 15 to 20 percent more if alcohol is served. Include at least one accessible unit in each group. If the event serves food, City rules also require handwashing sinks with hot and cold running water beside the food and beside the toilets.
Private job sites in New York City follow the federal count. A crew of 20 or fewer needs at least one toilet, and larger crews need one toilet seat and one urinal for every 40 workers. Keep the units near the work and plan weekly cleaning. Your account manager can scale the order as the crew grows.
A standard rental includes one service visit a week, covering pumping, cleaning and sanitizing the interior, and restocking paper and hand sanitizer. Heavy public use, big crews, and summer heat often call for two or three visits. Your account manager sets a schedule that fits your block's access hours.
Usually not. A unit in your own backyard, driveway, or fenced job site needs no City permit. A unit on a street or sidewalk does, through the transportation department's construction activity permits. At a public street event, the unit sits under your event permit and has to appear on the site plan.
A standard unit is a narrow single stall. An accessible unit is wider, with a flat entry, a wide door, grab bars, and turning space for a wheelchair. Federal standards ask for about one accessible unit in every twenty at a public event. Units used only by a construction crew are exempt from that rule.
Weekend rentals are written as a three-day period, so a Saturday event usually costs about what the full weekend costs. A standard unit averages $199 to $349, a deluxe flushing unit averages $300 to $400, and a handwashing station averages $150 to $250. Your account manager confirms your delivery and pickup windows.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We'll size the order, work around your loading and parking rules, and give you a clear price on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
