Home Areas We Service New York Porta Potty Rental Kingston, New York 12401

At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Kingston, New York, the Ulster County seat where the Rondout meets the Hudson. Construction drives most of the weekday demand, from restoration work in the Stockade District and along lower Broadway to new building on the city's western edge, and the event side runs hard from spring through the fall with markets, waterfront festivals and parades that close streets for a day at a time.
What you pay turns on the model, the quantity, the length of the booking and the service pattern. Below are our ranges, the job site figure a New York crew has to meet, what the City does and does not ask of an event sponsor, and the one Kingston rule that changes where a tank can legally be emptied.
Time on site is the biggest single factor in a Kingston quote. Our ranges assume about three days, which covers a weekend market or a wedding at a Hudson Valley venue, while a restoration job in the Stockade or a sewer and street project moves to four-week terms with weekly visits folded into the rate.
Access matters more here than in a flat grid town. Kingston's uptown streets are narrow and the Rondout waterfront drops steeply to the creek, so the question is rarely whether a unit fits but whether a pump truck can get a hose to it without blocking a lane.
Kingston also controls the back end of the job. Emptying a tank into the city plant takes a written approval from the City Engineer, and the hauler pays a fee for each load before it is discharged. That sits inside a professional service rate rather than appearing as a line on your invoice, but it is why a serviced unit in Kingston is not the cheapest thing on the market.
Then there is the model. Standard stalls do the work on a fenced site. Weddings, waterfront dinners and corporate dates generally want flushing units, in-stall sinks or a trailer, and your account manager will quote both so the choice is yours.

Our porta potty calculator will get you close, and your account manager will sanity-check it against the site plan.

Choose on audience, duration and how much of the weather the spot gets. Each model has its own page on the porta potty options hub.
The Standard Porta Potty is the everyday Ulster County work unit: one lockable stall with toilet, urinal, paper holder and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty sits level at the door and gives grab bars and turning space, and it belongs wherever the public will use the units.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty flushes and keeps odor under control, which suits a Rondout waterfront event or a barn wedding outside town.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink carries a sink, soap and mirror inside the stall, which helps most where food is being served.
The Solar Porta Potty lights and vents itself from a roof panel, handy after dark or before temporary power is energized.
The Handwashing Station is the free-standing sink the federal rule expects on a work site, with clean water, soap and single-use towels.
The Restroom Trailer arrives with multiple private stalls, running water and heating or cooling for a guest-facing Kingston date.
Describe the guest list and the hours to your account manager and they will set the mix.
Not on private property. Kingston asks for nothing to put a unit on a lot, a driveway or a fenced site. Public ground is a different matter, and Kingston is unusually direct about it.
Holding an event on any street or sidewalk needs a permit. The City's instructions are blunt: no person, firm or organization may close a street or hold an event on any street, roadway, thoroughfare or sidewalk without one. The special event application goes to the Mayor's Office at 420 Broadway at least 30 days out with a $50 fee and proof of liability insurance naming the City. The Superintendent of Public Works may refuse a closure and the Chief of Police may refuse a parade or event.
A street closure needs a detour plan, priced by size. The City charges in tiers according to how many roads and intersections the detour touches, and the sponsor is responsible for placing barricades at least an hour beforehand and removing them as soon as the event ends. Signing has to follow the state and federal traffic control manual.
Leaving anything on a street or sidewalk needs written consent. Kingston's obstruction rules bar placing materials of any kind on a sidewalk or street other than briefly while moving them, and anything staying longer than is reasonably necessary needs the written consent of the Mayor or the Superintendent of Public Works first. A breach is charged as a misdemeanor, so do not improvise a curbside placement.
Neighbors and the county both come into it. By signing the application you confirm you have notified neighboring residents and businesses, and the applicant carries responsibility for other licensing, including Ulster County Health Department permits where food is involved. City Hall's main line is 845-334-3902, and your account manager can hand you the unit count, service schedule and collection time in writing for the file.

Put units on firm, level ground with a straight pull for a hose, 15 feet or more from food service and within roughly 200 feet of the people using them. On the Rondout, keep well back from the creek bank and away from storm inlets. Uptown, keep them off the sidewalk line so the obstruction rules are never in question.
Kingston is the rare city that regulates the destination as tightly as the location. Discharging scavenger wastes into the city treatment plant is lawful only with the written approval of the City Engineer, and the application can call for vehicle specifications, the plate, the state waste transporter registration, the expected annual septage volume and the service areas covered, so the Engineer can judge the effect on the plant. There is a nonrefundable application fee and a separate charge for every load, payable before it is discharged.
The code defines septage to include matter removed from approved chemical toilets, and requires it to be free of substances of concern and priority pollutants. In practice that means the unit on your site is part of a permitted chain from the stall to the plant, with a named truck at the middle of it.
Each visit empties the tank, disinfects the whole interior and restocks paper, soap and towels. Weekly fits a steady crew, twice weekly fits heavy use and midsummer, and a multi-day waterfront festival is best served every day. Your account manager confirms the interval and the destination before the first delivery.

Most Kingston orders are on site within 24 to 48 hours, and three to five days locks in specific models. On event work the 30-day application window, not fleet supply, decides the date.
Five things that keep a Kingston delivery on schedule:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery across Kingston and the mid-Hudson communities around it, including Port Ewen, Saugerties, Rosendale, Hurley and New Paltz. Our nearest other porta potty pages are Poughkeepsie at about 25 road miles southeast, Pleasant Valley roughly 31 southeast, Newburgh 35 south, Poughquag about 39 southeast and Valatie 50 northeast, which keeps both sides of the river inside a comfortable run.

Standard units run $199–$349 and accessible units $200–$300. Flushing and in-stall sink models are $300–$400, solar units $500–$600, handwashing stations $150–$250, and trailers start from $1,500. The booking length and the number of service visits shift the total more than the model does.
Kingston publishes no figure, and neither does New York for an ordinary event. Size the order from peak attendance, how many hours you are open, whether alcohol is served, and what plumbed restrooms the venue already has. Your account manager will work through it with you.
New York's safety program covers government employees, so a private Kingston site uses the federal figure: one facility up to 20 workers, then one toilet seat and one urinal per 40, easing to one per 50 at 200 or more. A handwashing facility is required on the site as well.
Weekly as standard, twice weekly in heavy use or hot weather, daily on multi-day events. Every visit pumps the tank, disinfects the interior and restocks consumables. In Kingston the emptying truck also needs City Engineer approval to discharge at the city plant, so servicing runs on a permitted route.
No. Private ground in Kingston needs no permit, including a driveway, a yard or a fenced job site. A street, a sidewalk or any city property is different: an event needs a special event permit from the Mayor's Office, and anything left on public pavement needs written consent first.
The standard unit is one narrow stall with a toilet, urinal and sanitizer. The accessible version is wider, has a level entry instead of a step, and provides grab bars and enough clear floor to turn a wheelchair. Include at least one in any group the public can reach.
A weekend sits inside our standard three-day assumption, so there is no premium for it. Budget $199–$349 for a standard unit, $300–$400 for a flushing model and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. Your account manager schedules the drop and the pickup around your event.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will size the order, set a service interval that suits the site, and confirm in writing the details the Mayor's Office will want to see.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
