Containers pulled from Indian Trail jobs are weighed at the Union County Landfill, the county's own site at 2125 Austin Chaney Road, Wingate, NC, 28174. The gate runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, and it closes on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
The landfill takes almost everything a remodel produces: construction and demolition waste, bagged household garbage, mattresses and furniture, yard waste, white goods, scrap metal, cardboard, and electronics. Accepted recyclable materials carry no fee at all, which is why separating cardboard and metal can pay off on a big job.
Union County's five residential convenience centers are a different thing: they open three days a week and take household quantities only, so a construction load has to go to the landfill. Your account manager can confirm where your container is going and what tonnage your rate includes before delivery.
