Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Dayton
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Dayton, Ohio, and the Miami Valley towns that surround it. Construction and rebuilding work along the river corridor, warehouse projects near the airport, summer festival events downtown, youth sports weekends and work on the Wright-Patterson side of the county all keep portable toilets in demand here.
What you pay depends on the units you choose, the number you need, the length of the rental and how often a truck services them. Below you will find our price ranges, counts for crews and crowds, the City offices behind street and event placement, and what helps a delivery land on time.
The ranges above are set against a standard three day rental, the length most weekend events need. A single Saturday generally prices the same way, since the truck still has to come out twice.
Job sites run on a longer meter. A four week cycle with one cleaning visit a week is the normal arrangement, and the cost per day falls the longer a build runs.
Dayton's season shapes the rest. City picnic shelters open on 1 April and close at the end of September, and that stretch is when festival and ballgame weekends compete for the same units. A June or July date booked late costs more to fill than the same order placed in winter.
Then there is the site itself. A paved lot off a main road is fast to serve. A unit down in the river flats, behind a fenced job site, or at the back of a park lawn takes the driver longer, and heavy spring rain on soft ground can slow a service truck to a crawl. Your account manager will go over access before anything is booked.

Request a Quote NowBegin with the people and the hours. Prime Dumpster works from these counts:
Heat and hours both push the number up, so a daylong event in August needs more than an evening gathering with the same list. Start with our porta potty calculator, then let your account manager adjust it for your layout.
The right unit follows the people using it. You can see all of them on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty handles most jobs, with a toilet, urinal, paper holder and sanitizer. Roofing crews, concrete pours and family cookouts all use it.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty adds a wide door, a flat entry, grab bars and turning room inside. Put at least one in any order for an event open to the public.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty flushes and controls odor better, which guests notice at a wedding or a company picnic.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink holds a sink, soap and mirror inside the stall, useful at family events and anywhere near food.
The Solar Porta Potty powers its light and fan from the sun, which suits a field event, a rural lot or an early start with no power on site.
The Handwashing Station is a stand-alone sink with fresh water, soap and paper towels. One belongs beside any food service area and one near a large crew.
The Restroom Trailer gives you several stalls, running water, and heat and air conditioning. Weddings, corporate tents and long job sites are its home ground.
Describe your crowd or crew to your account manager and they will build the mix.
A unit on private ground, such as your own yard, driveway or fenced job site, needs no City permit. Public ground works differently, and Dayton routes each situation to a different office.
Streets and sidewalks: The City's own event planning page says anyone who wants to use a street or sidewalk should contact the Division of Civil Engineering for a street privilege application. Start there before you commit to a curbside spot. Public Works answers at 937-333-4800.
Block parties and street closures: Blocking a residential City street takes a Street Blockage Permit, approved by the Dayton Police Department 30 days before your date. The permit fee is $50 for a neighborhood block party and $50 for an organized event, and the Division of Street Maintenance charges it to deliver and collect the barricades.
Larger events: The City expects bigger events to need several permits at once, and it offers a pre-application meeting with its Small Business Advocate to sort them out before you apply. Park shelter reservations and special event requests go through the Department of Public Works, on the Special Event Request Form with the rental policies and, when you need it, a waste collection request. All of those forms have to come back together. Call 937-333-6463 for shelter and event reservations.
Tents, stages and parks: Tent and stage permits come from the Division of Building Inspection at the One Stop Center on West Second Street, with Fire Department sign-off, and a brand-new event may also need a festival permit from the zoning administrator. If your event is at RiverScape, Five Rivers MetroParks has to approve it.
Food vendors: The City sends event food vendors to Public Health, Dayton and Montgomery County for a license. A handwashing station is placed at the food line as standard practice, which keeps inspectors happy and lines short.
Your account manager knows these offices and can tell you which one covers your site before the truck is loaded.
Pick a flat, firm pad with an open path for the truck. Watch for soft turf after a wet week, alley clearances in the older neighborhoods, and street parking that blocks the approach. The unit also needs to sit where a hose and a vacuum line can reach it without crossing a walkway.
Keep units clear of food service, drinking water lines and storm inlets. On a job site, put them within a short walk of the work so the crew does not lose time. At an event, spread them across the footprint and set the accessible units on level pavement.
Standard service is one visit a week. The driver pumps the tank, cleans and sanitizes the inside, and restocks paper and hand sanitizer. Busy festival weekends, large crews and July heat are all reasons to add a second visit, and a winter rental gets cold-weather handling.
Where it goes afterward is a regulated business. The City's Division of Water Reclamation has cleaned the region's wastewater since 1929, treating 48 to 55 million gallons a day for about 340,000 people across Dayton, Kettering, Trotwood, Riverside, Oakwood, Moraine and the Wright-Patterson area before it reaches the Great Miami River. Solids are digested, dried and spread as fertilizer on approved farms. The City's Industrial Pretreatment Program at 2800 Guthrie Road, reachable at 937-333-1501, controls what is allowed to reach the plant. Statewide, anyone who collects or hauls this kind of waste has to register with the local health district where the work happens.
Your account manager can set the service rhythm and tell you where your loads are taken.

Most Dayton orders are delivered within 24 to 48 hours. Three to five days of notice is better, since it lets us hold the unit types you asked for. For a summer festival, an air show weekend or a fall wedding, book several weeks out.
These steps keep delivery day smooth:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery throughout Dayton, from Old North Dayton and McPherson Town to the Oregon District, Belmont, Westwood and the job sites along West Third Street and the river. We also serve the surrounding Montgomery, Greene and Miami County communities, including Kettering, Oakwood, Moraine, Riverside, Trotwood, Huber Heights, Vandalia, Centerville, West Carrollton, Beavercreek and Fairborn, so a project just past the city line gets the same window as one downtown.
A standard unit averages $199–$349 and an accessible unit averages $200–$300. Deluxe units are $300–$400, a handwashing station is $150–$250, and restroom trailers start at $1,500. Those ranges assume a standard three day rental. Your account manager prices your mix, rental length and cleaning schedule in a free quote.
Figure 1 unit for every 50 guests at a four hour event, plus 15 to 20 percent more if alcohol is served. A 150 person graduation party lands around three or four units. Add a handwashing station near the food, and include an accessible unit whenever the public is invited.
Ohio follows the federal rule, so a crew of 20 or fewer needs one facility. Beyond that it is one toilet seat and one urinal for every 40 workers, and one of each per 50 workers once the crew passes 200. Place them close to the work face, and let your account manager know when the crew grows.
Once a week is standard. The driver pumps the tank, scrubs and sanitizes the interior, and restocks paper and sanitizer. Large crews, festivals and hot summer weeks usually call for a second or third visit. Your account manager can raise the frequency for a busy stretch and lower it afterward.
No. A unit on your own yard, driveway or fenced job site in Dayton needs no City permit. Permits come into play on a street or sidewalk, at a City park shelter, or inside an event footprint, and a residential street closure needs Police approval. Your account manager can check your address first.
A standard unit is a narrow stall built for one person. An accessible unit is wider, with a level entry, grab bars and space for a wheelchair to turn, and it carries the wheelchair symbol. Federal rules call for at least 5 percent of each group of units to be accessible. Construction-only units are exempt.
A weekend is the base case, because our ranges assume a standard three day rental. A standard unit averages $199–$349, a deluxe flushing unit averages $300–$400, and a handwashing station is $150–$250. Friday drop and Monday pickup usually fits inside it. Your account manager will confirm the timing.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We'll size the order, pick the service days that suit your schedule, and put a clear number in front of you.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
