Dublin, Ohio is a vibrant city with a rich history. Founded in 1810 and incorporated as a village in August of 1833, Dublin was the first settlement to be founded on the west bank of the Scioto River. It quickly became an important center for commerce and industry due to its location at the intersection of three major transportation routes – The National Road (now U.S. Route 40), The Central Ohio Railroad, and The Pennsylvania Railroad.
Today, visitors can explore numerous historical sites throughout Dublin such as Indian Run Park, which features reconstructed dwellings from the early 1800s that provide insight into how Native Americans lived during this time period; Stoddard Cemetery, where many veterans are buried; or Jacob’s Barn, one of the oldest barns in central Ohio still standing today. In addition to these historic places, Dublin offers plenty of recreational activities such as golf courses, hiking trails, and bike paths along riverside greenways plus attractions like Heritage Trail Park & Museum, Confluence Park, and more that make it an appealing place to visit and live.
