Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in Mentor
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Mentor, Ohio, and the Lake County communities along the lakeshore. Commercial and industrial construction off Tyler Boulevard, residential building and remodeling, CityFest weekend, youth tournaments at the sports parks, marina and boat club events, and beach and headlands gatherings all put portable toilets to work here.
What you pay depends on the unit type, the number you need, how long they stay, and how often a truck services them. Below you'll find local price ranges, how to size your order, which Mentor and Lake County offices to call, and what to expect on delivery.
The ranges above are based on a standard three-day rental, which is how a Mentor weekend event is usually priced. A Saturday tournament and a full Friday-to-Sunday festival tend to land at a similar figure.
Rental length moves the number most. A commercial build in the Tyler Boulevard corridor is quoted in monthly cycles with a set service plan, and the daily cost falls well under an event rate.
Season matters more here than in most places. Lake-effect snow and frozen ground make winter drops and pickups slower, and the stretch from May through September is when event units get scarce across Lake County.
Site access finishes the picture. A unit on a paved lot is a quick drop. A unit at the far end of a soccer complex or on a soft lakefront lot takes longer at both ends. Tell your account manager how a truck will reach the unit and the quote will reflect it.

Start with our porta potty calculator, then let your account manager adjust it for hours, weather, and whether food is being served.
Choose by who uses the unit and how long the day runs. Every option is described on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty covers job sites, yard projects, and casual gatherings, with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty adds a wide door, a flat entry, grab bars, and turning room for a wheelchair. Include one in each group at a public event.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty gives guests a flush and a cleaner feel, which matters at weddings and club events.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts a sink, soap, and a mirror inside the unit. Families and food-focused gatherings get the most from it.
The Solar Porta Potty runs its light and fan on solar power, so it works at evening events and on sites with no outlet.
The Handwashing Station holds clean water, soap, and towels. It is the piece Lake County food vendors cannot be licensed without.
The Restroom Trailer brings several stalls, running water, and climate control, which suits larger guest-facing events.
Not sure what to order? Tell your account manager the headcount and the hours and they'll build the mix.
A unit on your own property, serving your own project, generally needs no City permit in Mentor. Here is where the rules start.
Private property: keep the unit on your lot, out of the tree lawn, the sidewalk, and the street. Nothing published by the City sets a screening rule or a time limit for a unit on private land, so your project's own approvals are what govern.
Work in the right-of-way: the City issues a right of way construction permit for work in a City street or tree lawn. A site plan comes with the application, incomplete applications are sent back, and every permitted job is inspected on 24 hours' notice. Cutting open the pavement also needs City Council approval, coordinated with Engineering and Building first. Contractors doing right-of-way work must be registered with the City at the time the work happens. Call Engineering and Building at 440-974-5785.
City facilities and parks: Mentor runs six picnic pavilions and several rentable buildings through Parks and Recreation. Renting any City facility takes a $400 refundable security deposit, which rises to $800 when alcohol is served. Alcohol also means contracting an off-duty Mentor police officer and buying an alcohol permit. Reservations are taken in person, not over the phone, and only payment plus a signed contract holds the date.
Food vendors: the Lake County General Health District licenses temporary food operations, and the complete packet is due no later than ten days before the event. The fee is $150 for a commercial organization and $75 for a nonprofit, with no refund if the event is called off. Each booth needs a hand wash station with warm water, soap, and paper towels, potable water through food-grade hose, and the station marked on the booth diagram. Inspectors check on the day. Call the District at 440-350-2543.
Not sure which office covers your spot? Your account manager can find the right contact before your delivery date.
Placement decides how smoothly the whole rental runs.
Set units on firm, level ground with a clear approach for a pump truck. Soft ground along the lakeshore and the marsh edges gives way under a loaded truck, and winter drifting can block an approach that was fine in October. Keep the path free of parked cars, low branches, and locked gates.
Keep units well clear of food service and drinking water, and away from storm inlets that drain toward the lake. On a job site, place them within a short walk of the work so your crew is not giving up time crossing the lot.
Weekly service is the baseline. The driver pumps the tank, cleans the inside, and restocks paper and sanitizer. Tournament weekends and larger crews usually need a second visit, which your account manager can build in from the start.
Ohio is strict about servicing, and that protects you. State rules put the duty on the owner of a portable toilet to have a registered septage hauler empty it before the tank reaches capacity. Units must also be watertight, structurally sound, and built so nothing spills in transport.
The hauling side is watched closely too. A septage hauler registers with the local board of health for each category of work, the registration cannot be transferred and expires at year end, and every pump truck needs its own board of health permit with its tank capacity on file. On top of the state rules, anyone hauling septage in Lake County must register with the Health District, which checks insurance and bonding and requires annual educational credits. The waste then goes to a permitted plant, and the Lake County Department of Utilities handles wastewater treatment across the county. Your account manager can confirm your schedule and where your waste goes.

Most Mentor orders can be on site within 24 to 48 hours. Three to five days of notice gives us room to match the unit type to the job and plan the route. Summer tournament weekends and CityFest tighten supply across Lake County, so book those several weeks ahead.
These five steps keep a delivery on schedule:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery throughout Mentor and the surrounding Lake County communities, including Mentor-on-the-Lake, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, Eastlake, Wickliffe, Willowick, Kirtland, Concord Township, Painesville, and Madison. Whether your site is an industrial build, a lakeside event, or a tournament weekend at the sports parks, we plan delivery, servicing, and pickup around your dates.
A standard unit in Mentor averages $199–$349, and an accessible unit averages $200–$300. Deluxe flushing and sink units average $300–$400, and restroom trailers start at $1,500. Your total comes down to unit count, rental length, and the service schedule. Your account manager confirms it in your free quote.
Plan 1 unit per 50 guests for about four hours, and add 15 to 20 percent more when alcohol is served. Neither the City nor Lake County publishes its own ratio, so that is the number to work from. Add a handwashing station near food and at least one accessible unit at public events.
Ohio runs no state plan, so federal worker-safety rules govern a Mentor job site. A crew of 20 or fewer needs one facility. Above that it is one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers, and one per 50 once the crew passes 200. Your account manager can size the order to your crew.
Weekly service is standard. The driver pumps the tank, cleans and sanitizes the interior, and restocks paper and hand sanitizer. Ohio rules also require a registered hauler to empty the unit before it reaches capacity, so heavy use means extra visits. Your account manager sets the schedule with you.
Usually not. A unit on your own Mentor lot for your own project needs no City permit. Keep it off the tree lawn, the sidewalk, and the street. Work in the City right-of-way is different and needs a right of way permit from Engineering and Building, with a site plan and a registered contractor.
A standard unit is built for one person stepping in and out. An accessible unit is wider, has a flat entry with no step up, adds grab bars, and leaves turning room for a wheelchair. Public events need at least one in each group of units. Units used only by a construction crew are exempt.
A standard unit averages $199–$349, and weekend rentals are quoted on a three-day basis. A Saturday-only event usually costs close to what the full weekend costs. Flushing units, sink units, and restroom trailers run higher. Your account manager will confirm your weekend total and the delivery window.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We'll size the order, set a service rhythm that fits your busiest days, and give you a clear price on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
