in Lima
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Lima, Ohio, and the Allen County towns around it. Construction here runs through the industrial district along the Ottawa River, plant and refinery turnarounds, street and sewer rebuilds like the Cable Road and West Street projects, and housing work on every side of town, while events fill Town Square, Lincoln Park and the shelter houses from May onward.
Two Lima facts are worth carrying into an order. The City Engineer's Office controls what may be set down in a street or other public space, and Ohio law puts a duty on whoever owns a unit to have it emptied by a registered hauler. Below are our ranges, the two counts, those rules in plain words, and our delivery times.
Service frequency drives a Lima quote harder than most people expect, because Ohio writes the servicing duty into law rather than leaving it to habit. A busy industrial site is quoted with the visits already planned, not added later when a tank is close to full.
Headcount concentration is the second factor. A plant turnaround puts several hundred people on one site for a two-week window, and that short, intense pattern needs a different arrangement from a year-long street rebuild with a crew of twelve.
Season is the third. Allen County summers push the service interval shorter, and a Lima winter needs a cleared, firm approach plus freeze treatment so the unit stays in service when the ground is hard.
Our ranges assume roughly three days on site. A weekend in the park prices as the base case, while a long project moves to monthly pricing with the visits built in.

Request a Quote NowOhio sets no construction toilet table of its own, and Lima publishes no event ratio, so one figure comes from the national rule and the other is built with your account manager.
Run your figures through our porta potty calculator, then let your account manager match them to the shift pattern or the crowd.
Industrial sites and park events pull in opposite directions here, and the model follows. Everything is set out on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is the working unit on Allen County job sites: one enclosed stall with toilet, urinal, paper holder and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is wider, enters flat with no step, and has grab bars and turning space. Include one in every group at a Town Square or Lincoln Park event.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty adds a flushing bowl and much stronger odor control, which is what a wedding or a summer festival wants.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink holds basin, soap and mirror inside the stall and keeps a queue moving where food is being served.
The Solar Porta Potty lights and ventilates itself from a roof panel, which suits a riverside project, a rural Allen County site or an evening event without power.
The Handwashing Station stands separately with clean water, soap and single-use towels, and it is how a Lima site meets the federal washing requirement.
The Restroom Trailer is a small climate-controlled building with separate plumbed stalls, suited to a wedding, a corporate day or a long contract with staff on site.
Describe the site and the users to your account manager and the specification follows from that.
On private property, no City permit covers the unit itself. Three Lima rules shape everything else.
A street or any other public space needs a City Engineer's permit. Lima's code says no person may use any public street or other public space by depositing building materials, other materials or equipment on it without first obtaining a permit from the City Engineer's Office. A serviced restroom unit standing in a street or on a public lot is equipment set down on public space, so that permit is the published route rather than a grey area. The City updated this section in late 2024, so it is current law and not a legacy provision.
The term of that permit is the Mayor's decision. The same chapter says the length of a permit for the use of public streets and other public spaces is determined by the Mayor, and that the Mayor may renew it for whatever periods are thought appropriate. There is no fixed day count to work around, which cuts both ways: a long placement is possible, and nothing guarantees it. Ask early for anything beyond a few days.
Events and parks run through Parks, Recreation and Forestry. Lima publishes no general special event permit, and sets no restroom ratio for a gathering. Shelter houses and pavilions are reserved through the Parks, Recreation and Forestry division, either on the City's online reservation portal or by phone, with fees due when the dates are confirmed. The Lima Municipal Center at 50 Town Square takes general calls on 419-228-5462, and your account manager can work the unit count alongside the booking.
On a Lima site, stand the unit on firm, level ground with a straight approach for a service truck, and keep it out of the way of plant traffic rather than tucked where a vacuum hose cannot reach. Hold it at least 15 feet from drinking water and from food handling, keep it back from storm inlets and from the Ottawa River, and off the sidewalk unless the City Engineer's permit covers it. At a park event, group the units, put an accessible model in each group, and keep a flat path to every door.
Servicing is where Ohio is firmest. State health rules put the duty on the unit's owner to have the contents removed before capacity is exceeded, and to use a registered septage hauler. That registration is made to the local board of health for its own area, which here is Allen County Public Health, it cannot be transferred to another company, it requires proof of at least $500,000 in general liability cover, and it expires at the end of each calendar year. Your account manager confirms the servicing and receiving arrangements in writing with the order.
Each visit pumps the tank, disinfects the seat and interior, and restocks paper, soap and towels. Weekly is our baseline, twice weekly suits a heavy site or a guest-facing event, and food service always shortens the interval.

Most Lima orders reach the site within 24 to 48 hours, with three to five days for a particular model or a trailer. The busiest stretches are plant turnaround windows and the summer run of festivals, fairs and reunions across Allen County.
Five habits that keep a Lima delivery on schedule:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery throughout Lima and the Allen County communities nearby, including Elida, Delphos, Bluffton, Spencerville, Cridersville, Wapakoneta and Van Wert. Five of our Ohio porta potty pages sit within about 60 road miles and are linked below, starting with Findlay at 34 miles northeast, which matches the figure the Findlay page already carries. One call covers a job that crosses a county line.
Allow $199–$349 for a standard unit and $200–$300 for an accessible one. Deluxe flushing and sink models run $300–$400, solar units $500–$600, and restroom trailers start at $1,500. A handwashing station is $150–$250. Extra service visits on a heavy site are quoted separately and openly.
Lima publishes no ratio, so the number comes from your guest list. We plan one unit per 50 guests over roughly four hours, add 15 to 20 percent when alcohol is served, and keep at least 5 percent of each cluster accessible. Add handwashing wherever food is served.
Ohio uses the national table. One facility covers 20 workers or fewer, then one toilet seat and one urinal for every 40 workers, with washing facilities required alongside. On a plant turnaround in Lima, count the busiest shift rather than the monthly average.
Weekly is our baseline, with twice weekly on heavy sites and at guest-facing events. Ohio makes this more than a preference: state rules require the owner of a unit to have it emptied before capacity is exceeded, using a registered septage hauler. Each visit also disinfects and restocks.
Not for a unit on private ground in Lima. A street or any other public space is different, because the City requires a permit from the City Engineer's Office before materials or equipment are set down there, and the length of that permit is decided case by case.
A standard unit is one narrow stall with toilet, urinal and sanitizer. The accessible model is wider, enters flat with no step, and carries grab bars with clear floor space for a wheelchair to turn. Any Lima event open to the public should have one in every group of units.
A weekend fits the roughly three-day window behind our ranges, so it prices at the base case: $199–$349 for a standard unit, $300–$400 for deluxe flushing, and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. For a busy park weekend, ask about a service call partway through.
Tell us the project or the event, your zip code and where the units can stand. We will apply the national table to a crew, build a defensible number for a gathering, and keep the servicing on the schedule Ohio law expects of whoever owns the unit.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
