One of these attractions is the Felician Sisters Motherhouse and Gardens which were founded by three sisters from Poland who immigrated to America in 1913. This historic site features beautiful gardens, a chapel, and a museum where visitors can learn about the order’s roots as well as its impact on the local community throughout the years. The nearby Notre Dame College also boasts historical significance having opened its doors in 1922 as one of only two Roman Catholic colleges exclusively for women at the time.
