Lumber, drywall, plaster, shingles, flooring, carpet, cabinets, fixtures, fencing and furniture are ordinary roll-off material in Wheat Ridge.
Colorado keeps a short, explicit list of materials barred from disposal, and each item belongs off a Wheat Ridge container:
- Lead-acid batteries, from cars, trucks and equipment.
- Liquid wastes, or anything containing free liquids.
- Used oil, from vehicles and machinery.
- Waste tires, which have their own recycling route.
- Waste electronic devices, such as televisions, computers and monitors.
Paint, solvents, fuel, antifreeze, pressurized cylinders and asbestos also stay out. Refrigerators and air conditioners need their refrigerant removed first.
Older Wheat Ridge homes may contain asbestos in floor tile, pipe wrap and siding, which needs a licensed abatement contractor before a scrape.
Tell your account manager what is coming out, and the separate routes are arranged with the container.
