Framing lumber, drywall, shingles, flooring, cabinets, doors, windows, furniture, and general cleanout debris are all normal loads. The limits come from Colorado's statewide ban list and from the receiving facility's own gate rules.
Colorado keeps five things out of a landfill for households. The state health department's landfill ban list names lead-acid batteries, liquid wastes or anything holding free liquid, used oil, waste tires, and electronic devices and computers. Those come out of the container before it leaves your property.
Larimer County adds detail that catches people out. Friable asbestos is refused outright, and non-friable asbestos is only taken as ordinary trash with a manifest. Bulk liquids are refused at every county site, and materials contaminated with PCBs are refused as well.
Two rules are worth planning around. Any barrel or drum larger than five gallons has to be crushed or punched through on both ends, and a propane tank or fire extinguisher is only accepted completely empty with the valve assembly removed. If you can't remove the valve, it has to stay fully open for two days first.
Tires are accepted at a cost, on or off the rim, but ten or more tires in one load makes you a registered waste tire hauler in the state's eyes. Paint, solvents, and fuel go to a county hazardous waste site instead. Run anything questionable past your account manager before it goes in.
