Most building and cleanout debris can be loaded. The limits come from Colorado's disposal rules, from Boulder's own recycling requirements, and from the facility that takes your load.
Colorado keeps several things out of solid waste sites. Lead-acid batteries, used oil, liquids and anything with free liquids, waste tires, and electronics such as computers, TVs, and monitors are all prohibited.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either. Boulder County takes household chemicals, paint, and automotive products at its hazardous materials facility instead.
Boulder also expects sorting rather than dumping. Clean lumber, metal, and cardboard from a new build have to be recycled, and full deconstruction projects must divert most of their material. Your account manager can help you set up the containers that plan calls for.
