You need a site plan and a temporary traffic control plan, and nothing may block a hydrant, a sidewalk, or the clear view at an intersection. Events on City property: Recreation Services handles special event permits, and the deadline depends on the event. An event with alcohol or a street closure is due 50 days ahead. One with an entry fee, vendors selling, or multiple days is due 30 days ahead. A simple setup is due 14 days ahead. Filing late costs extra, and filing very late gets the event denied. Event hours: Permitted hours on City property run from 5 am to 10 pm Sunday through Thursday, and to midnight on Friday and Saturday, which is worth knowing when you plan delivery and pickup.
Food vendors: Every event in the county with food service needs a permitted special event coordinator through Coconino County Health and Human Services, filed at least 10 business days out, and each vendor or sampler needs a permit of their own. That includes the lemonade and kettle corn stands. Plan a handwashing station at the food area.
