Set a unit on ground you own or control, like a yard, a farm field, or a fenced job site, and no Town permit is involved. Public land is a different story.
Town streets and sidewalks: Work inside the Town right-of-way runs on a Public Works permit. Nothing can start until the Town issues it and you post it on site. Call the Public Works Director's office at 520-868-7617 with questions about your spot.
Events in town: Any special event in Florence needs a special event permit from the Community Services Department at 778 N. Main Street, filed at least 60 days out with an application fee. Street closures ride along as a separate addendum, and the Town also asks for a County event notification in the packet.
Events on County land: Pinal County runs its own special event permit from 85 N Florence Street, reachable at 520-866-6667. Small events file 60 days ahead, and events drawing 1,000 people or running more than four days file 120 days ahead. The site map you turn in has to show where the porta potties go, so settle your unit count early.
Food vendors: Booths at an event fall under Pinal County Environmental Health, whose temporary food rules require a handwashing station with warm water, soap, and paper towels, set up before any food prep begins.

Choose firm, level ground. Loose desert soil and washes shift under a loaded unit, and monsoon runoff can cut a service road overnight. Give the driver a straight approach with no low branches, tight gates, or parked trailers blocking the way.
Keep units at least 15 feet from anywhere food is handled, and away from wells, canals, and storm drains. On a job site, set them within about 200 feet of the crew so nobody burns half a break walking. At an event, spread them out and keep the accessible units on hard, flat ground.
