Framing lumber, drywall, roofing, siding, flooring, cabinets, furniture, and general cleanout debris all load normally. The short refusal list comes from Indiana rules and from the receiving facility.
Indiana tells its landfills what they may not take. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management's landfill rules exclude hazardous waste, certain PCB waste, untreated infectious waste, whole tires, lead-acid batteries, mercury switches, mishandled asbestos material, and appliances that still hold refrigerant. Vegetative matter is limited unless it comes from a home or is bagged properly.
Tires are worth a second look. The same agency notes that landfills cannot take whole tires and that a disposal site may refuse tire material altogether. A tire shop has to take your old tires when you buy new ones.
Electronics have a free local route. The Vigo County Solid Waste Management District takes computers, monitors, printers, stereos, phones, microwaves, and anything else with a cord or a battery, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and the first Saturday of the month.
Paint, solvents, fuel, motor oil, propane cylinders, and asbestos stay out of every container. Tires and refrigerant appliances are usually billed per piece, so tell your account manager about them when you book.
