Framing, sheetrock, shingles, siding, flooring, cabinets, doors, carpet, fencing, furniture and general cleanout junk all go in without trouble.
Texas controls disposal through what each permitted landfill may accept rather than through a single statewide list, so in Beaumont the operative limits are the City landfill's own. Industrial chemicals and industrial solid waste may not enter without the director's prior approval, and anything the state's solid waste law bars from landfill disposal is excluded as well.
In practice that means the standard exclusions apply to every container here: no hazardous waste, no liquids, no paint or varnish, no solvents, no fuel or used oil, no pesticides or fertilizers, no pool chemicals, no batteries, no mercury and no asbestos. The City lists each of those as material to keep out of regular garbage, and sends residents to the regional collection events run by the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission on 409-899-8444, extension 7520.
Tires and large appliances need their own handling and their own charge, so mention them when you book. If an item has you hesitating, ask your account manager before it goes over the rail.
