Odessa's Solid Waste division is a large operation in its own right, collecting from more than 2,800 businesses and around 16,000 alley containers across the city, and it is clear about what it will not take. Demolition debris, including wood, fencing, roofing, bricks and tile, is outside every City program, and the City states that where a homeowner hires a contractor, the homeowner remains responsible for removing what is left behind.
For those materials the City points people to a privately operated landfill on West Murphy Street in west Odessa. Because that site is run by a company that also rents containers, we do not list it here as a drop-off option and we do not repeat its gate charges.
The City's own Neighborhood Bulk Drop-Off runs on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon and takes furniture, appliances, water heaters, hot tubs and above-ground pools. The 2026 season has finished and the 2027 dates are not out yet. It is a genuinely useful service for a household cleanout, and no use at all for a tear-off or a remodel.
For questions about City service, Solid Waste is at 1100 W. 42nd Street and the number is 432-368-3510, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Your account manager confirms which landfill your container is routed to and what tonnage is included, so the disposal side of the price is settled before delivery.
