Areas We Service
Prime Dumpster offers dumpster rental in Texas across 149 cities, from El Paso and Lubbock to Houston, Dallas and the Rio Grande Valley. We bring containers for garage clean-outs, roofing jobs, remodels and construction projects, and we take on commercial and federal work too.
A handful of local details set your price. Container size, the type of debris, where the dumpster will sit and the landfill that accepts the load all count.
Read on for Texas price ranges, permit guidance, disposal limits and the landfill facts that apply to a project here.

The prices below reflect general ranges for a standard five-day rental period. Your account manager will confirm tonnage, overage rates, and other specifics before you book.
| Size | Average Price Range | Approximate Dimensions | Common Price Factors |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10-Yard Dumpster | $399–$499 | 12' L × 8' W × 3.5' H | Debris weight; heavy materials like concrete reach limits quickly |
| 15-Yard Dumpster | $449–$569 | 16' L × 7.5' W × 4–5' H | Debris mix; combined light and heavy materials affect disposal fees |
| 20-Yard Dumpster | $499–$649 | 22' L × 7.5' W × 4.5' H | Landfill distance; out-of-county loads may carry higher tipping fees |
| 30-Yard Dumpster | $599–$799 | 22' L × 8' W × 6' H | Debris volume; longer rental periods may apply for larger projects |
| 40-Yard Dumpster | $699–$899 | 22–24' L × 8' W × 8' H | Project scope; commercial and demolition loads vary widely by material |
Each rental follows three steps. We deliver the container, you fill it during the rental period, and we pick it up and take it to disposal. A few details about your job then shape the quote.
Size is the first one. Next come the material you're tossing, the number of days you keep the container and the location of the job. Shingles, dirt and concrete are heavy, so they raise the weight fast, and extra days add to the total.
Texas landfills are run by cities, counties and private firms, and each one sets its own tipping fees. Those fees end up in your quote. Across the state, the two things that move the landfill charge most are what the load contains and whether it comes from inside the city that owns the site.
Two examples of how county disposal differs in practice:
So the same container can cost more to empty because of one special item, or because the job sits a few miles past a city line. Keeping unusual material out of a general load is often the simplest saving.
Check current fees on the city or county's official page. Your account manager can name the landfill that serves your address and explain what will shape your final price.

When the container stays on your own driveway or inside a fenced job site, you usually won't need a permit. Placing it on a street, sidewalk or alley is different. You'll need approval from the government that owns that road, and it should be in hand before delivery.
State law gives Texas cities control of their own streets, while the Texas Department of Transportation looks after state highways. The office you work with depends on the road:
Rules and paperwork differ a lot between Texas cities, and a few small towns have no process at all. If you can't tell which office covers your street, your account manager will find the right permit office before delivery day.
Nearly all the debris from a cleanout or build is fine to load. The limits come from what the landfill's permit lets it take, and those permits follow rules set by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
TCEQ bars several items from every municipal landfill in the state. Car and truck batteries can't be sent there. Neither can motor oil from a home oil change or used oil filters. Whole tires are refused unless they've been split, quartered or shredded. Fridges and air conditioners can go only after the refrigerant is removed.
Like landfills across the country, Texas sites also turn away hazardous waste and liquids, and friable asbestos goes only to sites set up to handle it with advance notice.
Each landfill can add its own limits. The Brownsville landfill refuses closed drums, wet paint, explosives and hot loads, and it wants written proof that refrigerant is gone before it takes a fridge or AC unit.
Got electronics, tires, appliances or anything else you're unsure about? Ask your account manager where it should go before it lands in the container.

Disposal in Texas is local. Cities, counties and private companies run their own sites, so the landfill that takes your load depends on where the project is.
The West Texas Region Disposal Facility at 17304 North FM 2528 in Abernathy serves Lubbock and the South Plains. It covers 1,260 acres and is open Saturday mornings as well as weekdays. Lubbock's older Caliche Canyon Landfill now takes only small loads of brush from the public.
The Denton Municipal Landfill sits at 1527 S. Mayhill Rd. in Denton, north of Dallas and Fort Worth. It's open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Down in the Rio Grande Valley's Cameron County, the Brownsville landfill runs a compost program and a scrap tire processing site alongside its disposal area, and it charges normal fees for remodeling and demolition debris.
TCEQ permits landfills statewide and decides which materials each one may accept. When you book, your account manager confirms the receiving facility for your address and any material limits there.

locations served across Texas

A standard five-day rental in Texas runs about $399–$499 for a 10-yard dumpster and $699–$899 for a 40-yard. What you actually pay depends on the size you pick, the weight and type of debris, and the landfill that takes the load. Your account manager confirms tonnage and overage rates first.
Not from the state. On your own driveway you usually need nothing, but a container on a public road needs approval. Cities control their own streets, and TxDOT handles temporary use of state highway right-of-way. Your account manager can find out which office covers your address before delivery.
Car batteries, used motor oil, oil filters, whole tires, liquids, hazardous waste and fridges that still hold refrigerant are all barred from Texas landfills. Friable asbestos needs a site set up for it. A load carrying any of these can be refused, so pull them out before the container is picked up.
Every Texas landfill sets its own fees. Brownsville charges more per ton for waste from outside the city than from inside it, and Lubbock charges nearly double for special waste. Where your debris goes and what it contains both change the disposal cost built into your quote.
Whole tires aren't allowed in Texas landfills. State rules accept scrap tires only once they've been split, quartered or shredded, and not every landfill takes them even then. Keep tires out of your container and ask your account manager where they can be dropped off.
Yes. TCEQ charges a small fee on every ton of solid waste disposed of in Texas. Landfill operators collect it inside the tipping fee they already charge, so it doesn't show up as a separate line. Your account manager can explain how disposal costs are built into your quote.
