San Angelo is a city where we would rather tell you less and have it be true. The city publishes that one of its public works roles is monitoring landfill operations, which is an oversight description rather than an operating one, and the city's own staff directory lists a national hauling company and one of its managers inside the city's solid waste function. The city also publishes no street address for the landfill on any page we can read.
Our standing rule is that we name a receiving facility on a page only where the operator is a public body and the authority publishes the site's own address. Neither condition is met in San Angelo, so we name no facility here and promote no competitor's site.
What we can tell you is the rule that governs the destination, because that is in the city code. A permitted collector may dispose of solid waste or recyclables only at landfills or dumps designated by the city, and dumping is allowed only at attended and controlled locations. So the destination for a San Angelo container is not a matter of preference, it is set by the city, and your account manager will confirm it for your load when you book.
One more thing you should know, because the City publishes it and we would rather you heard it from us. San Angelo runs its own roll-off container service, with rates set out in its code for 15, 20, 30 and 40 cubic yard containers and for compactors. If a City container suits your job, that is a real option and we will say so.
Where we are genuinely the better answer is the small end. The City's own rate table starts at 15 cubic yards and has no 10-yard container on it at all. On a heavy load of concrete, caliche, brick or tile, the 10-yard is the correct size, because that material reaches a weight limit long before it fills anything larger. That gap is our edge here, and it is a fact about what is available rather than a claim about price.
For anything beyond a routine load, the city's Solid Waste office on 325-486-3798 is the right first call, and we are happy to make it with you.
