Lemon Grove, California is a small city in San Diego County. Located just east of the larger cities of La Mesa and El Cajon, Lemon Grove has been part of the landscape since 1892 when it was incorporated as one of San Diego’s first suburbs.
From its quaint downtown to its charming Victorian-style homes, there is much to explore in Lemon Grove. One such place is the historic community center which dates back to 1932. With its white colonial revival architecture, it still serves today as a gathering space for locals and visitors alike. Other notable sights include Old Town Park where the old lemon grove sign stands tall; plus the Stalcup Library built by local craftsmen in 1927 from stones taken from nearby hillsides; and Bancroft Elementary School established in 1902 and named after famed writer Hubert Howe Bancroft.
With so much history around every corner, Lemon Grove offers plenty of opportunities for exploring or simply taking some time out for yourself.
