in Campbell
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals across Campbell, California, and the West Valley communities beside it. Units go out to construction and remodeling work along East Hamilton Avenue and the Winchester corridor, tenant improvements in the business parks off Dell Avenue, trail and creek projects along Los Gatos Creek, and outdoor events of all kinds, from a farmers market morning to a street festival downtown.
The number on your quote reflects the unit you pick, how many you need, the length of the rental, and how often we come back to service them. Below you will find our ranges, the counts Campbell and California actually require, the permits that apply here, and how to get everything on site in time.
The ranges above sit on a three-day rental, which is how almost every Campbell event order is written. A single festival day and a whole weekend normally come out the same, so there is no value in squeezing the dates.
Construction runs on a longer clock. A remodel on a Campbell lot or a tenant fit-out off Dell Avenue is usually quoted in four-week cycles with service built in, and the weekly cost drops a long way once the first cycle is behind you.
Campbell events carry one cost the quote has to reflect up front. The City sets its own minimum unit count for park events and expects a share of accessible units and a handwashing station for every four toilets, so a mid-sized event here needs a slightly richer mix than the same event elsewhere.
Access does the rest. A unit beside a paved lot is quick in and quick out. A unit down a creek path, inside a fenced yard, or up a narrow driveway costs the driver time. Your account manager will walk each of these through with you.

Request a Quote NowCampbell is one of the few cities that puts a formula in writing, so use the local one for events and the state rule for job sites:
For a downtown event the City settles the final number with you at a pre-event meeting rather than publishing a formula. Our porta potty calculator gives you a figure to take into that meeting, and your account manager will square it with what Campbell expects.
Match the unit to who uses it and how long they are there. Everything we stock appears on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is the baseline: one private stall holding a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and sanitizer. It covers crews, yard work, and smaller gatherings.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is wider, enters flat at grade, and has grab bars and chair turning space. Campbell wants two of these in the smallest park event order, so plan on them early.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty gives guests a flushing bowl and sharper odor control, which shows at a wedding or a corporate day.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink builds a sink, soap, and a mirror into the stall, which keeps guests from wandering the site looking for water.
The Solar Porta Potty takes its light and fan from a rooftop panel. Trail projects along the creek and evening events with no outlet are exactly where it fits.
The Handwashing Station is a free-standing sink with clean water, soap, and towels. Campbell counts these separately in its event formula, and California job sites need them beside the units.
The Restroom Trailer is towable, with several private stalls, plumbed water, and climate control. Weddings, company events, and long-running sites justify it.
Still choosing? Give your account manager your guest count or your crew split and they will set the mix.
On private ground, like your own yard, a driveway, or a fenced job site, you normally will not need a City permit in Campbell. Public ground is a different question, and so is any organized event.
Streets and sidewalks: The City is direct about it. Temporary use of the public right of way requires an encroachment permit, filed under the miscellaneous type through the City's online permitting system. You submit plans showing the limits of the work, you need a City business license, and the fee is invoiced once staff accept the submittal, with payment due before the permit issues. Whoever does the work has to call the Public Works inspection group on 408-866-2150 at least two working days before anything goes into the right of way.
Park events: Any gathering of 100 or more people in a designated City park runs under the park event policy. The application goes in at least 90 days ahead, a pre-event meeting follows, and you mark every unit on the site diagram. Campbell is specific about placement too: units go on level ground at no more than a two percent slope, with a clear path of travel at least 48 inches wide up to the door. Insurance of at least $1,000,000 has to reach the City Risk Manager no later than 14 days before the event.
Downtown events: A downtown event application is due no later than 120 days before the date. Portable toilets appear on the required diagram, the final count is agreed with City staff, and you have to show evidence of your portable toilet and trash arrangements 14 days out. Everything, units included, has to be off the site within 24 hours of the finish, or before business opens the next morning.
Food vendors: Food booth applications and fees go to Santa Clara County Environmental Health Services through the event organizer, no later than 14 days before the event, and the organizer has to show a dish washing, waste, and grease station for each booth location. Tents and canopies over the published sizes go through the Santa Clara County Fire Department on 408-378-4010.
Unsure which office owns the ground you have picked? Your account manager can tell you before you book anything.
Where the unit sits decides whether it works for the whole run.
Level ground comes first, and in Campbell that is written into the rules. Park events need units on sites no steeper than two percent with a 48-inch clear path to the door, which is a good standard for a job site too. Give the driver a straight approach with no low branches, tight gates, or parked cars.
Keep units at least 15 feet from any food service and well back from Los Gatos Creek, storm drains, and irrigation lines. On a job site, place them inside roughly 200 feet of the crew. At an event, spread them into groups rather than one long rank, and make sure each group has an accessible unit. In City parks, remember that tent stakes are not allowed, so weights are the way to hold anything down.
Weekly service is the baseline. Larger crews, hot inland weeks, and multi-day events usually justify more, and the units stay far more pleasant when they are emptied often.
Everything pumped out of a Campbell unit ends up in the regional system. The collection network here belongs to the West Valley Sanitation District, which sends its flow to the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility, a plant handling about 110 million gallons a day for 1.5 million residents and more than 17,000 businesses. Your account manager can confirm your service schedule, the disposal point, and any placement question before the truck is loaded.

Most Campbell porta potty orders can be on site within 24 to 48 hours. Give us three to five days and we can match the exact mix to the job. For a festival, a park event, or a wedding weekend, allow several weeks, because the whole South Bay competes for the same dates.
These five habits keep a delivery smooth:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery across Campbell and the West Valley and South Bay communities nearby, including Los Gatos, Saratoga, Monte Sereno, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, San Jose, Los Altos, Mountain View, and Milpitas. Whether your project sits downtown, in the Pruneyard area, or out along the Los Gatos Creek Trail, we build the delivery, service, and collection around your dates.
A standard unit runs $199–$349 and an accessible one $200–$300. Deluxe flushing and sink models land between $300–$400, solar units between $500–$600, and restroom trailers open at $1,500. Unit count, rental length, and service frequency all shift the total. Your account manager settles the figure in your free quote.
For a Campbell park event of 100 or more, the City sets the count at one eighth of one percent of expected attendance, never fewer than four units, with two of them accessible and one handwashing station per four toilets. For smaller private gatherings we plan on one unit per 50 guests over four hours.
California goes beyond the national rule. Cal/OSHA wants one separate toilet facility for every 20 workers, or part of 20, of each sex, with no cut-off, plus one washing station per 20 standing clear of the units. Fewer than five workers need only one all-gender unit. Tell your account manager the crew split.
Weekly service is the baseline. Each stop means an emptied tank, a scrubbed bowl and floor, wiped surfaces, and fresh paper and sanitizer. Large crews, warm inland weeks, and multi-day events usually justify a second visit. Your account manager can line the visits up with your busiest days.
Normally no. A unit on ground you own or control needs no City of Campbell permit. The right of way does need one: the City requires an encroachment permit for any temporary use of a public street or sidewalk, filed online and paid before issue. Your account manager can work out which side you are on.
A standard unit is one narrow stall with a toilet, a urinal, and sanitizer. The accessible model is wider, enters at grade with no step, and carries grab bars and room to turn a chair. Campbell wants ten percent of event units accessible, with one in each grouping. Crew-only units are exempt.
Our ranges already cover a three-day rental, so a weekend is the standard measure. A standard unit falls between $199–$349 and a deluxe flushing unit between $300–$400, with handwashing stations between $150–$250. Your account manager will confirm the rental window, the drop time, and the collection.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will size the order to the City formula, set the service visits, and give you a clear number on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
